oh bless his cotton socks. Grin hope he feels better soon.

I had a little snooze this afternoon. clearly late nights don't agree with me but they didn't before pregnancy.

just can't believe we're having babies this year! exciting yet scary. just a few excruciating months of work to get through. Wink

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 01/01/2015 18:20

orville that is hilarious and awful in equal measure. Hope he is feeling a little better. Whenever I ve had a dodgy tummy I usually get a 20 minute grumbling tummy warning, but I do feel for him. I would avoid dairy too, a clear soup like a broth is usually a good one for poorly tummies.

Evening all

Just a quickie to tell you that asos are having a maternity wear sale - got some good stuff in it!

Lots of dresses and summery stuff in case anyone has weddings to go to this summer...

I've got myself some tshirts and maternity jeans!

Hey thanks for all your birth plan ideas. Think I'm going to go with trusting my instincts, but listen to the advice and decide from there.

To those talking about skin. Mine is a riot. Never had this much problems when was a teenager!!

Sunbathingcat - I have the odd sore twinge in hip and bumps cheek. Also right hip! But my right calf cramped for a week and ended up with referred pain in hip. Went to physio and she assessed me for pelvic girdle problems. I was fine but she sent me away with exercises.

If you Google "pelvic girdle pain exercises" you should get Liverpool trusts leaflet.

This is not my nhs trust but it's the same exercises. I have been told to do the exercises even though nowt wrong. Preventative basically.

Also keep legs together cue for a joke here , don't do side lunges, when lifting spread weight by stepping one foot forward. Also no breaststroke when swimming. (Which is fine as it's the only stroke I've never mastered). Oh and sit down to put pants, trousers, socks and shoes on.

HTH

comeagainforbigfudge · 01/01/2015 22:47

*bum not bumps!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 01/01/2015 23:20

My asos maternity order arrived yesterday. Need to try it on. Got some leggings, vest top and dress for work. Odd thing coming that will include jeans and a shirt. Also ordered some bigger bras today. My cups runneth over! Grin

On an unrelated note, please don't make me eat anymore cheese. Can I just have a big salad? Please.

impatienceisavirtue · 01/01/2015 23:35

Bought the first few things in the last few days - it's really starting to feel real. A part of me was still really nervous about something going wrong after the mcs but after the last scan, seeing him so clearly bouncing away - I have relaxed a lotSmile

Tranquilitybaby · 01/01/2015 23:38

Could be sciatica Sunbathing? I get it now and then.

Will have a look at asos thank you.

Well my pram still hasn't turned up, hopefully mothervare have for it back from Citylink by now. Hmm

Tranquilitybaby · 01/01/2015 23:38

*got it back.

impatienceisavirtue · 02/01/2015 00:11

I'm actually tempted by the black jumpsuit in the asos sale. His does that even work with a bump?!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 02/01/2015 11:11

well, whoever invented maternity leggings/trousers is a god! first time I've tried anything on and it was so comfy. can't wait to truly need it. I'll stick with my bump band and hair ties round my buttons for another week or two.

hmm, maternity jumpsuit? I've never been tall enough to carry that off never mind a bump as well!

newbie6 · 02/01/2015 11:59

Yay! Thanks for the ASOS tip! Managed to get a lovely dress for a wedding in Feb and in May so praying it looks nice on and will stretch with me! My bump appears to have suddenly appeared and although it's quite small it's definitely there so am beginning to believe I am having another baby ?? x

newbie6 · 02/01/2015 12:00

p.s I saw the jumpsuit and thought it looked lovely! x

excitedbutsick · 02/01/2015 12:18

Slightly belated Happy New Year to you all. I seem to have regressed into full on lurker mode.

Slightly envious of those of you who have a bump, I have my normal podge still. On the other hand I am getting told that I have lost a bit of weight, which I know is 10kg to date. My BMI has gone from 46 at booking in to 42 now.

We have norovirus at work so plenty of handwashing for me, some of my medical colleagues have been ready to send me home as I'm still vomiting, before I have informed that I am just pregnant and not infected. I have also been experiencing sciatic pain on and off in the last few weeks which I think is down to where baby is laying at that point.

It feel strange to be able to say that we are having a baby THIS year, it makes it all seem more real. I'm also thinking of not informing my colleagues that baby is here straight away as I will give birth in the trust that I work in, and I don't really want troops of colleagues popping in.

cuphat · 02/01/2015 12:34

I had my consultant appointment this morning. It went very well! I went in expecting a bit of a fight to get a c-section after reading threads on here (previous section due to breech baby) but when they asked how I wanted to give birth and I said a c-section they said that's absolutely fine, and I just need to book my section date at 36 weeks! They didn't even ask my reasons (though they'd looked at my notes). So I have an appointment on 1st May to choose my section date which will be at 39 weeks! I'm very relieved. My midwife had said there wouldn't be a problem getting a section and she was right. So baby will be born between 22-30th May at the latest.

I've still got all my maternity clothes from last time as I was pregnant at exactly the same time with DD, but I have treated to myself to a couple of new maternity dresses from asos. I've gone for ones that look bf friendly so I can wear them for a bit after the birth too (I lived in dresses after my section last time).

I mentioned on fb but my PGP has disappeared since DH has been off over Christmas to carry DD. I'm really hoping I'm one of the rare lucky ones and have had enough time to fully recover before DH goes back to work so it doesn't come back.

cuphat · 02/01/2015 12:38

Actually, my section will be more like around the 22nd May I guess as I'm 39 weeks then, though I'll go for the 25th if I can as it's a Monday.

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 02/01/2015 12:38

We were going to hold out until February 10th for our nhs scan (I would be 21 weeks by then), as my OH was against going for private one to find out girl/boy earlier. He obviously had a change of mind as he announced this morning he has booked a private scan for 15th January as a surprise. On further probing, he actually booked it weeks ago but kept telling me he didn't want one so that I wouldn't ring up to book myself as he was trying to keep it as a surprise until the day.

Chookford · 02/01/2015 13:12

cuphat how exciting to know you can actually know when baby will arrive!!

elizabeth how lovely!!! That's very sweet of your dp!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 02/01/2015 13:21

Cuphat - Great news. Must be a relief to know that.

Elizabeth - that's lovely of your OH. What a surprise!

I've just had my mothercare delivery, a bargainous pair of boyfriend jeans and a shirt which should do from now into spring/summer as the sleeves can be rolled up. Just need a couple of t-shirts. Mine are starting to roll up.

Excited - Yay for losing some weight but not yay for the norovirus. Had it late November and its not nice at anytime, let alone when you're pregnant.

Jackiebrambles · 02/01/2015 13:25

Cup hat that's good news! Glad you are relieved. Did you tell your midwife on booking in that you wanted a section and she then referred you?

My midwife, and my trust, are v pro-vbac but I said I was undecided at booking in.
