Glad you had fun in Berlin trying!

Had my 16 week midwife appointment today, all was fine and I heard the heartbeat! Lovely early Christmas pressie. Off to mum and dads today, strange to think there will be three of us next year! Xmas Smile

JennyOfOldstones · 23/12/2014 11:41

Crossed post tracey good luck with your appt too! Hope you get to hear the heartbeat!

cuphat · 23/12/2014 12:04

Glad your appointment went well, Jenny.

I've just seen my midwife again regarding the pelvic girdle pain. She's said I do have PGP/ SPD and has referred me for physio, so hopefully I can prevent it getting worse. The weeks of coughing probably weakened everything and then carrying DD set it off.

Chookford · 23/12/2014 12:06

jenny horray for hearing the heartbeat!

tracey good luck later hope you hear your baby's too

cup glad they have diagnosed you, hopefully physio will help!

AnythingNotEverything · 23/12/2014 15:55

Hi, I haven't posted much, but regularly check in and find it very supportive to keep up to date with others at similar stages!

Great news on recent appointments and really sorry Tracey that you were in that awful situations, so sad!

I just wanted to share something that happened last night and see if anyone else has had anything like it?

I woke at half 1 for a wee, went to the loo and got the most horrendous pain in my right thigh, next thing I know I come round on the bathroom floor having fainted and fallen off the toilet! Pain had gone but felt very scared as I didn't know how I had got there until husband came to find out what the massive bang was. Spoke to the midwife who has put it down to me doing to much housework yesterday and the pain in my thigh causing me to faint. I have never fainted before and I am glad that it is only my knee I have hurt!

Has anyone else had anything like this happen? Smile

Thelovecats · 23/12/2014 16:09

At my 16 week appts they have just had a quick feel of my tummy but no measuring.

I really want my appt as I thought I would have felt baby move by now as I had by this stage last time, but I don't think I have yet (14 + 5) Want to hear heartbeat! My appt is on 30th dec.

cuphat good news re referral. Sorry you have spd though...

Oh newcy that sounds awful you must have been so frightened! Is your blood pressure low or anything? It must have been a bad pain in your thigh to cause you to pass out, you had better not do any more housework! Wink

Newcy · 23/12/2014 16:41

Yeah it really scared me, I am just glad I wasn't stood at the top of the stairs! I wondered about blood pressure but haven't been able to get an appointment at the doctors. They seemed pretty confident I had just done too much! The pain was really bad, but I am shocked that I fainted with it! How will I ever get through labour?!

HexyQueen · 23/12/2014 17:01

Newcy, could the pain have been sciatica? And u fainted cos pain + overdoing it? That is a very sharp pain in thighs, buttocks or calves and can markedly worsen during pregnancy & after birth. I had it awful last pg, at time needing my DP to literally catch the newborn I was breast feeding so I didn't drop her cos pain is so extreme. If it is, there are treatment patches which deaden the affected nerves, but are fine in pg or bf-ing as no active agent enters your system. Called Versatis, 5% lidocaine patches, which can be cut to size & slapped on for 12 hours. They really work for all sorts of pain in pg. Hope it doesn't return for you.

StopEatingThatMud · 23/12/2014 17:02

Newcy that does sound scary. I think a lot of chemists offer BP checks. I'm sure I've seen Boots, Lloyds etc and possibly even pharmacy counters in sainsbury's advertising it.

Newcy · 23/12/2014 17:36

Thanks hexy I have been having spasms in my right buttock for a few weeks so maybe it has been building up to this?! I have my 16 week appointment with the midwife 2 weeks today so will definitely ask about it (unless it happens again before I go)! I hope it stays away this time for you!

I didn't know about blood pressure checks at chemists- will definitely look into this! Thanks!

Really glad I posted now, two things I hadn't thought of! Thanks ladies! Smile

MrsExtraOrdinary · 23/12/2014 17:47

I had a lovely mw apt this afternoon with my IM. 45 minutes all to myself. I guess this is what I'm paying for. She even had to time to get my boys to help with routine checks and we all heard the hb @ 150 beats. Smile

traceybaybee · 23/12/2014 17:50

anything yeah she had a feel of my tummy then whipped out a tape measure

Tryingreallyhard84 · 23/12/2014 17:58

Okay, had a catch up today.

Yay for the gender scan news coming in. Tracey - I had to go and read the news to see what you were on about. Such a shame for all but made even worse by the time of year.

Newcy - I'm a regular fainter for one reason or another. Glad it passed quickly.

I can't wait to hear the heartbeat but seems it varies from place to place. Still two weeks til my next mw appt though.

Right off to force the hubs to sit down and watch Elf with me. Xmas Grin

Tori I really recommend it. Esp if planning a home birth. So far it's gone brilliantly.

traceybaybee · 23/12/2014 21:47

Just read my notes and they say my uterus height is 16cm, also saw further on that it said the area of haemorrhage seen at my 12wk scan was 5.75 x 1.75 x 2.20 and will be reviwed at the anomaly scan. Its unsettled me a wee bit reading that Sad

AnythingNotEverything · 23/12/2014 22:24

Tracey if they were worried they'd be scanning you sooner. Try not to panic.

Just its got me wondering how big an area it actually is. But like you say if it was of any concern id know

Tryingreallyhard84 · 24/12/2014 08:12

Well, I can't believe it's Christmas Eve. Where has this last 3 months gone?! All I remember is vague sickness and nausea. Still, time to get cracking with food to cook, presents to drop off, etc.

I can't believe that, all things being well, we'll have additions to our families next year. Scary but exciting as well!

Hope those with children are enjoying the build up of excitement! Even those not feeling great. X
