New thread because the last one was giving me "Sorry, this thread is too big to accept new messages".
Onilly - sorry, yes I am sure it's due date - see here - "the Regulations apply to women expecting their babies on or after 1 April 2007.... If an employee's 'expected week of child-birth' falls before 1 April 2007 the old rules will apply."

OP posts:

i am fat today as well

kitty-that is your mother talking!we all know ur really a witty, intelligent woman who has given out loads of good advice and put a smile on our faces on many occasions

kittythescarygoblin · 14/10/2006 21:01

That's very sweet Diva, I should get back to that book 'cos deep down I know I'm thinking a load of rubbish and am falling back into bad habits.
Is there some horrible 2nd trimester hormonal depression going on do you think??
Oh I found someone at school who wants to sell their instep nipper double buggy. I've been after one but couldn't justify the cost, so now I'm buying that and we've ordered a new car/ van thing too.
I do really understand your feelings about tempting fate I'm sure all will be ok.

Rosyspookily · 14/10/2006 22:09

Everyone seems to be struggling a bit this week. I did get a bit of a lie in today and I have worked really hard on the house. My own bedroom was horrific, I've been climbing over a heap of stuff to get into bed. Every surface was dusty and covered in clobber. Probably causing my insomnia- bad feng shui etc! Anyway now it is beautifull And I am a wreck. I am wondering if my iron is low because I am so lacking in energy.
Anyway, dh is arriving in day or two. If he calls me 'buffalo' again I'm going to get a big giant dildo and hit him over the head with it....
What game does your man play Diva? My ds age 15 and his cousins are all really into runescape and my crazy sister has been addicted too ever since she lost her job. We used to txt each other all day and now she's too busy fishing and mining and I'm too busy on mn

kittythescarygoblin · 14/10/2006 22:42

Rosy, do you have a big, giant dildo or is it just wishful thinking ?

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 15/10/2006 09:59

Diva - those "girls" you think DP is chatting to are probably gay men in real life, pretending to be attractive women !!!

I know nothing about computer games, but would recommend Club Penguin for 5-10 year olds, DS loves it and often spots his school friends on there at the same time as him.

Sponge - how are you today? Hungover I hope . Is DH back today?

Uuuuurgh - I have spent all night vomiting and pooing liquid (sorry for TMI). Don't now if its a virus or food poisoning - went to a slightly dodgy cafe yesterday with a fellow mumsnetter and the toilets were filthy with no soap; the toilets also used by staff, IFSWIM

I really want to lie down, but can only resist vomiting by staying upright

On the positive side tho': 20 weeks today

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 15/10/2006 10:03

Rosy - do you find that once you've had a mega-tidy up, you think, "why can't I just keep it nice and tidy like this all the time "?

I always think that, but still can't manage to keep it tidy!

Kity, bought some of that Blossom Hill you receommended last night but too sicko to enjoy it yet

kittythescarygoblin · 15/10/2006 10:50

Fox, poor you Hope the 'bug' gets cleared out soon, sounds like it will be a quick but horrid one

Rosyspookily · 15/10/2006 11:13

Fox that's the last thing you needed! Hope it goes soon.
Kitty I don't actually have one at the moment I used to have one though- tacky gift from dh but it was too big and intimidating for me to play with. (I like them small)I threw it out when his inlaws came as was so scared of them finding it!
Actually I do have a whip somewhere, I'll hit him with that.
Yeah I wonder why I lived with the squalor for so long and it makes me want to get on top of the whole house but I am being undermined by the gremlins!
19wks today.

divastrop · 15/10/2006 11:23

o fgs!
i just typed a really long post then the net decided to go down

rosy-he plays 'conquer online' they go round killing monsters and stuff?
i know they only chat about the game on there but i cant bear the thought of him even having a laugh with other women cos im sure he will find somebody who isnt fat/old/pregnant/depressed and leave me,so in my warped mind i feel the only way to stop this happening is for him to have no contact whatsoever with females over 16.

sorry-had to get that out

kitty-what sort of double buggy is that?those ones that are about £500?

fox-hope you feel better soon

18+4

Rosyspookily · 15/10/2006 11:45

Diva my ds hasn't heard of that one, it sounds same sort of thing to runescape. I don't think there's many attractive women on those, its mostly spotty teenagers and of course my sister who is 36 and also slightly depressed and hoping her man won't run off on her.
Every now and then I get a jealous head but I think my dh is too lazy to two time me. Though he often has some woman chasing him because he is very funny and chatty. He had a crazy stalker for ages and he kept having to call the police!

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 15/10/2006 12:05

Hello Girlies.

Sorry to hear you're all so weepy. I ate 3 bars of chocolate yesterday, and I feel great. Must be cause and effect: I think you should all go and stock up.

Went to DH's aunties 'I beat cancer' party yesterday. The poor woman had chemo 12 years ago and went into remission, but then it popped up again about a year ago, and she had to have a double mastectomy . She's finished the chemo again, and looked really happy last night.

Have been looking at the 'Babies R Us' catalogue, and really fancy the Quinny Buzz travel system. Anyone tried this? We need a three-wheeler for walking the dog on grass/mud and negotiating my parents' gravel drive.

divastrop · 15/10/2006 12:55

whoowhoo-that sounds great about ur dh's auntie,to get through it twice as well .my auntie got through breast cancer about 5 years ago,and my nan is having chemo for lung cancer at present.
it makes me feel bad for feeling like crap when im pregnant which should be a happy thing.if i eat chocolate i just feel worse cos i think im going to get really fat and i should be able to control myself.

kittythescarygoblin · 15/10/2006 17:02

Whoowhoo, glad your auntie is on the mend

Diva, I think the 'instep' costs about £300 new, far more than I'd be able to jusify new, but I like the thought of a three wheeler that I can actually push when I get some weighty kids in there. My double is frequented by all of the monkeys when I get it out.
It's been a lovely day here and although I am still dog tired and on a very short fuse we all had a nice day at the local zoo. No bickering or fights, that goes for dp and me too

Fox, hope that bug is out of your system now.

I'm not a great choc eater, but at the zoo we got some freshly cooked doughnuts and they are SO yummy, all that hot fat and sugar. Better than sex, that's not saying much at the moment though. haven't had any of that for a very long time

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 16/10/2006 09:22

Hi - have deffo stopped vomiting now and just treated myself to 4 dry cream crackers

I think it was food poisoning and am going to phone the council later to get them to inspect the filthy cafe.

We have a Mountain Buggy which I love, love, love as its so easy to push along no matter what the "road" surface and no matter how heavy the kid/s in it. It just glides really. It was about £400 5 years ago and I remember guiltily putting it on my credit card, but it has been worth every penny.

I can't eat chocolate, as I am a reformed chocoholic and get addicted to it very easily.

How is everyone today?

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 16/10/2006 09:24

ps choosing a buggy is so hard isn't it? We spent far longer choosing our buggies than we ever did choosing a car!

Kitty - which car have you decided to get?

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 09:33

Hello foxy, we have ordered a 'mecedes Vito traveliner'. It's a bit of a beast, but is the smallest of the 9 seaters and can apparantly stiil get under the barrier at the shopping centre in Brighton, which is of course a very important consideration
I won't be able to get it in any parking bays though .
So glad you are feeling better, you don't need that do you?
Where has everyone gone, perhaps they've all fallen asleep. saying that I managed a 2 hour kip on the sofa on Saturday. Dp and the kids all watched a film while i slept and then he took them out for a long walk, lovely !!

Rosyspookily · 16/10/2006 09:40

My double buggy says emmaljunga on it, never heard of it but it is fantastic was reduced from E900 to E199 roughly £130 what a bargain. It practically pushes itself.
I also have a m&p 3 wheeler and it is hard to push you have to contantly turn it slightly like an annoying shopping trolley. It just looks cool!
Buggy no3 is a Zooper like an average maclaren which is great, folds neatly and pushes easily.
Buggy no4 is one of those cheap tiny things which is fab for traveling with.
Not that I have too many buggys or anything.

Normally I am also a chocoholic too. I am just managing to eat it again now the odd time. Glad you are on the mend fox

Piffle · 16/10/2006 09:45

Prams oohhh
Gosh
I'm looking seriously for one that fits every need
Rear facing buggy as well as traditional pram.
Must be able to fit buggy board.
Will prob need extendable handles
So far one rpam Bugaboo chameleon fits the bill according to dp but i might feel a might visible here in the Wolds with such a beast...
Arrghh
also just posted on SPD thread - I fear something going on with me. painful lower back/hip/groin.
Am going to see osteo but am terrified if it is
I know others on here suffer? HELP!

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 16/10/2006 09:47

Hi you two -

Kitty new car sounds fab. Don't worry about parking it - as long as it looks fab and has loads of room WTF Seriously, you'll get used to the size. We graduated from a Puegot 306 to a Zafira (which is the smallest people carrier I think) and for the first three weeks I felt as though I was driving a bus! Now it seems tiny..

Rosy LOL a your buggies We had four buggies at one point and only one child

We also have an ancient MacLaren we bought 2nd hand for £10. It weighs about 2.5kg and you can lift it with your little finger. It looks very scruffy but is fabulous and is so strong we've has three kids on there at times

Buggies....dificult choices..eh?

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 16/10/2006 09:49

Hi Piffle X threads. ou poor thing, hope its not spd but someing more temporary

Rosyspookily · 16/10/2006 09:54

Piffle I get spd pretty badly. So far I've just been getting the odd problem with my right hip socket. I have heard osteo can be really helpfull. I'm just hoping to be mostly free of it for as long as poss. I have two more accupunture sessions to take and I've heard that can help so I'm going to put them off for a bit and hope that might help me.

divastrop · 16/10/2006 10:07

hello ladies.
piffle-ive never had spd myself, but i hope its something temporary you have.

i got a graco pushchair for £50 for dd2,there was no way i was getting a pram,i like little easy pushchairs that fit through doorways.the double buggy i got was horrible,it handled like a shopping trolley.anyway, its dead now,the weight of ds2 killed it.im hoping hes developed some road sense by the time this baby arrives,i still have to have him in a pushchair at the mo.dp thinks im too soft but im terrified of him running in front of a car.

my jeans feel very tight today, around the thighs rather than the waist.i think i od'd on revels last night and have now put on half a stone

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 10:14

Piffle, I get spd, my hips started 'clicking' again a few weeks ago, you know they just feel very loose. It's not painful YET. Try and keep your legs together and don't do too many twisty mobements.

foxy we have a Zafira at the mo, I tell you this traveliner makes it look like a mini coupe

My main buggy has always been a trusty maclaren, wonderful things, so light and easy to use.

Piffle · 16/10/2006 10:17

Keeping legs together kinda ironic when you see how we got this way in the first place!!!!!
Have got appt with osteo tomororow 9.30 - he says it does sound like SPd is a real possibility after he asked me to test a few movements
one leg, rotating hip joint and legs out to side.
Also cannot lie flat on my back ripping pain.
So...
bloody hell - I'm quite scared.

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 10:19

Piffle, when mine was really bad I had a therapy done on me called the 'bowen technique' it worked wonders to keep it at bay and certainly put me back together again after the pregs were over. Nothing is going to cure it whilst you are preg, but you can try and minimise the discomfort. Wear a support belt to try and keep your hips stable.
