New thread because the last one was giving me "Sorry, this thread is too big to accept new messages".
Onilly - sorry, yes I am sure it's due date - see here - "the Regulations apply to women expecting their babies on or after 1 April 2007.... If an employee's 'expected week of child-birth' falls before 1 April 2007 the old rules will apply."

OP posts:

LaidbackinaTransylvaniancoffin · 13/10/2006 18:47

I did it !!

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 13/10/2006 18:59

How about: Laidincoffinwithdracularhangingfrommyjugular?

Sanks and Laidback - oooh am starting to want to know what mine is too we have scan on 20h.

Rabidannie - the need to pee never goes dear, once the baby's out your pelvic floors will sag

Rosyspooks - lovely image of you in your red velvet troos

Evilannie/Kitty - I'm more of a ginger poodle on the lap girl myself

Zombie - glad the bloods went OK, I hate that needle too. Last time I got a huge bruise
Piffle, I BF for 18 months too wit DD. had problems 1st time round with DS, but loved it 2nd time around When you get to my age you stop worrying about yer tits

Kiwi - don't get an Indesit washing machine - I have it on very good authority that they break down all the time, from a guy who maintains wasing machines that DH knows. Beko was recommended to us, so we went for that. The wash takes ages but the clothes are spotless when they come out. Beko seem good value too as its less well nown.

Evenhope - wow all those older siblings Baby will be so spoilt -hope they're all willing to babysit

Have had a mad busy day geting loads of domestic stuff sorted (airport parking, foreign currency, school application (incl priests reference ), school shirts, library books etc). But feel beter for it, if tired.

Told a Mum in the playground I feel depressed and she wants us both to have a good cry together

Sorry for typos, too lazy to go back and check.

God am desperate for a glass of red. Got 2 weepie DVDs from Woolworths today - plan to get drunk and have a good cry as I think I'm experiencing a delayed reaction from last week's scare and need to get it our of my system by having a bit of a weep.

Feel free to join me

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 13/10/2006 19:01

Laidback we crossed threads, but (spookily) were thinking along the same lines love the new name!

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 13/10/2006 19:02

I'll weep in sympathy foxy

divastrop · 13/10/2006 19:42

id love to get drunk...im so hormanal at the mo.

i can second the indesit washing machine thing-they are disposible and designed to die before the standard 12 month warranty runs out.the door of mine is being wedged shut with a broom handle at present cos the catch is broken but i dont want to fork out to have it fixed when the whole washer is due to die at any moment.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 13/10/2006 20:36

Diva - that's interesting - the guy who fixes them also said they just don't last! Had never heard of "Beko" before but he reckons they're very sturdy and well made (if obscure!).

..have started my glass of red. Kids will be in bed by 9pm and if I can stay awake, will put weepy movie on. As I haven't drank alcohol for a month or so, feel quite spaced and mellowwwwww

divastrop · 13/10/2006 21:43

i had 2 small glasses of white and i feel hammered!blimey,a night out would be cheap these days!
i must be drunk having posted what i just did on a relationship thread.will i get in trouble for mentioning dildos?
i think i better wait till this baby is about 3 till i attempt to drink again.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 13/10/2006 21:58

Diva - am off to nosey what you've written!!

Then will put movie on.........

Rosyspookily · 14/10/2006 03:46

Here I am up in the middle of the night again eating cereal...Diva your dildo post was very funny I don't usually go to 'relationships' it gets me all fired up!
Lol at everyones fuffy pets in their pants. I keep mine well pruned usually and I can't remember how I manage when huge, I remember having to wear slip on shoes as unable to reach to tie laces! The rest is all a blur! Must go back to bed now. Don't know what to do about this insomnia...

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 14/10/2006 09:11

Rosy - hope you managed to get a lie-in, to make up for your late night cereal excersion!

If I had an answer to insomnia I'd share it with you, believe me

divastrop · 14/10/2006 11:14

i only go on the relationship threads when im in a mood with dp over something silly or imagined,to remind myself that hes actually very nice really

looking backat that thread i would have put the same thing without having drunk any wine.

i still feel ill,i will have to go and walk by the sea to clear my lungs out a bit.having a cough when pg is no good.

18+3

RabidZombieAmie · 14/10/2006 12:25

Diva... gosh no! I'd be out of Tena Lady already!

zombiebridepenny · 14/10/2006 13:45

Hi all, Been to another NCT baby sale with the MIL. Was great cos she paid, our spare room has now been filled.
Felt a bit wierd cos as I was paying the laides asked me when I was due, and when I said March they went quite and mumbled something about me being a bit early. Why? I am 17wks risk of M/C is low and anyway if It happens now it could happen later too so I don't think planning for a baby whilst 4mths preggers is too early, do you?
That sort of tutt tutting from other mothers really annoys me.

LaidbackinaTransylvaniancoffin · 14/10/2006 13:56

Don't worry about them zombiebride - get as much or as little as you want. My DH's cousin has just had her baby at 31 weeks and had everything she needed already - which was great,. My friend had her DS at 35 weeks and had absolutely nothing (although most of the big stuff arrived a few days later ! )

I am of the cheapskate mothering variety - I survive with a sling and baby clothes and a rocker (plus a pushchair when they get too big to carry). Have never bothered with any of the other baby stuff !! As far as I'm concerned its designed to make as much money from parents as poss !

zombiebridepenny · 14/10/2006 14:57

Thanks Laidback, everybodys different aren't they? Why do some people think we have all have to do things the same way. Huh!
Got womb area cramps today and have to launch into preparing a meal for 8 people now,....so feeling very , and everynow and again in that order.

divastrop · 14/10/2006 15:24

penny-i wanted to wait till at least week 24 till i got anything last time cos i worry so much and i didnt want to 'tempt fate',but a freind of mine spotted a double buggy reduced by 70% when i was 18 weeks,so i got it then spent the next 10 weeks worrying stupidly.but tbh i think its best to be prepared and doesnt matter once ur past the 1st trimester.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 14/10/2006 15:48

Penny - when you get bigger you may find it more difficult to get round NCT sales as well. I remember feeling realy ill at one when I was heavily PG with DS - too many people and not enough air or places to sit!

Unless you have a history of MC, then all that stuff about not buying things early is superstition.

Laidbackincoffin - agree with you about resisting the marketing. Forthcoming LO will use he buggies, cots ac and many of he clothes that DS and DD enjoyed

I say that as a girl from a large family who grew up in hand-me-downs

RabidZombieAmie · 14/10/2006 15:57

how can I find out about NCT sales?

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 14/10/2006 16:28

Rabidzombieannie

You need to join the NCT and then they get advertised in your local newsletter. Or if you know anyone who is a member, you can ask them to tell you when the sales are,

I have a gripe about the cost of the NCT annual membership fee, which I think is too high, so I only join when I actually have a new born or am just about to, rather than being a continuous long standing member. There is awhole "is it worth joining the NCT?" thread on here somewhere if you want to do a searct.

I have to say, their sales are brilliant though, and you don't have to be a member to attend.

spongecake · 14/10/2006 18:50

oh dear feel very sad, hope its hormonal as keep sobbing- dh is working til v late, so alone, and am too tired to cook. also a horrible couple barged in from of me at the supermarker and nicked the last trolley for miles-i nearly had my hand on it... they were so pleased with themselves... i burst into tears when they had gone and had to go and sit in the car. going to have hot bath and read new book now.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 14/10/2006 19:18

Hi Sponge

I think I know how you feel as I've been really depressed all week (nearly burst into ears in the playground yesterday). If you're alone this evening, at least you can indulge yourself a bit, without having to be cheerful or make conversation.

Yesterday I was on the verge of tears all day and felt I can't cope any more. It was only when I heard Joy Division on the radio and burst out crying in my car that I realised that actually I really needed to have a good cry.

So last night I watched a really miserable DVD (about post natal depression and child abuse)with a big glass of red wine and it really cheered me up. I was able to feel miserable for a couple of hours without having to "cope" or pretend I felt OK.

BW, that thing with the trolley would upset me too, its so rude apart from anything else .

Just think, in five month's time you'll be holding your beautiful baby in your arms. Until then, you just have to get through the next few months. You don't have to be brilliant at anything and its normal to feel sad and hormonal.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 14/10/2006 19:20

Burst into tears, not burst into ears

divastrop · 14/10/2006 20:14

fox-i have an image of you covered in ears now?!

sponge-have a good cry,u will feel better.that couple must be arrgant idiots.i keep having major problems with queue jumpers and have legged it out of a few shops in tears over the past few weeks.
ive also been weepy today.and paranoid.i spent an hour bawling my eyes out this afternoon cos i convinced myself dp was chatting to women(who were all slim, pretty and age 19)on his online game.but when he asked what was wrong i kept saying my head was hurting.
think i need to read about b***ds on the relationship threads again.

the only things i will have to get for this baby are a pushchair,a decent double buggy and new mattresses for moses basket/cot.oh,and a load of clothes if it has a willy.i got bags of things given when i was expecting ds2 and dd2 cos i had friends with older babies, but i dont know anybody with babies now so i will have to start from scratch.

TheBlonde · 14/10/2006 20:29
