New thread because the last one was giving me "Sorry, this thread is too big to accept new messages".
Onilly - sorry, yes I am sure it's due date - see here - "the Regulations apply to women expecting their babies on or after 1 April 2007.... If an employee's 'expected week of child-birth' falls before 1 April 2007 the old rules will apply."

I've just said a 'hello' on the 'due in July' thread which has just started. I can't beleieve it has come arouns already. makes me feel that i am making some prgress

kittythescarygoblin · 23/10/2006 20:39

Typos are getting worse and worse sorry

Jaykillandhide · 23/10/2006 20:49

nice one evenhope, so we are on two boys and one girl......or am i missing others?

I went for my rescan today, and baby is fine, no problems with him, only thing is they found i had a low lying placenta. Anyone else had this before? I have to go back for another scan at 36 weeks to see if its moved and to see how i will give birth....
I was told that as the baby grows it will move up, but sometimes it moves in the wrong direction and could cover the cervix. Feeling a bit down about it, like theres something wrong with me, i know there isnt and i know i am being daft, but you know how it is, you just want everything to be perfect.....

divastrop · 23/10/2006 20:53

congrats evenhope-lol at ur dd having a strop even though shes left home

kitty-i am quite scared about already being nearly halfway there...my last pg seemed to go on for eternity and i just wanted it over with.i cant believe im going for my scan in a week.

kittythescarygoblin · 23/10/2006 21:13

jay, I had a low lying placenta with no.2. it moved up fine by 36 weeks though. I think they mostly do.Don't worry

Diva, when's your scan? mine's next Thursday, seem like an eternity.
I've said that ds's can come, since it will be the last baby and they've not been to a scan before. I rather suspect that they will be pulling apart the scanning romm though , Can't go back on it now though.

LunarSea · 23/10/2006 22:15

Happy Birthday Amie - where did you go? I like the Grand Union for birthday treats (worth trying if you've not been there before, but expect to have diet for a week before and after!) - but they're shut on Monday's so that's obviously not where you went tonight.

Congratulations on your girl news evenhope !

Has anyone else started to get REALLY hungry or is it just me ? I finish one meal and within about an hour am hungry again. The 250 extra calories you are "allowed" during this part of pregnancy aren't going to stretch very far !!

Hope everyone having a good day ?

RabidZombieAmie · 24/10/2006 09:40

Hello!

Lunar- we went to the Saxon Mill in Warwick, it was lovely. Never been to the Grand Union. I'll have to check that out! The Goat's Cheese was Pasturised!

Laid back - I'm hungry all the time, but when I eat anything I can only manage half of it! then 20 mins later I'm hungry again. So I'm constantly grazing! and I think I may be grazing all the bad things so I'm well over my extra 250 calorie allowance!

Rosyspookily · 24/10/2006 10:16

Evenhope I bet your dd will adore her little sister when she arrives. Its great to know everything is fine.

Jay my good friend due in Jan has a low lying placenta. If it doesn't shift she'll be having a cs but she doesn't mind too much cuz she had a cs last time after a diff labour. So she reckons if its preplanned that will be an improvement! But as Kitty says it usually sorts itself out.

Diva whats the house situation? Any news?

Laidback when I had ds1 age 15 there were stirrups. I used them at the end for getting my stitches. I was giddy and high as a kite from having given birth and just found the stirrups hilarious!

Amie I'm grazing too. I think its a good plan! I am guilty of eating jammy doughnuts but toast and marmite, healthy cereal and lots of fruit the rest of the time. [angelic face with halo emoticon]

leoghostlygaela · 24/10/2006 10:27

Happy birthday for yesterday Amie !

Laidback, I've been told that if I give birth to the twins naturally it will be legs up in stirrups, I have to discuss this, sounds a bit stupid to me to give birth in such an unnatural way (not that I know...!), can't make it any easier surely! However, whatever I am willing to try anything to try to avoid a cs.
i'm getting hungry but finding it difficult to get enthusiastic about food (very unlike me) although i have started eating chocolate every day (also very unlike me!), for a twin pregnancy my extra calorie allowance is considerably more, but I'm definitely not using it!

Evenhope, congratulations on the girl !

As for being dizzy, I think one of the reasons I don't want to come to work at the moment is because I am so dizzy, its terrible! Ah well!

Well, I just got over on cold and now have another one. I've had so much time of sick the last few weeks that I felt I had to come in today! Ds has had a fever on and off since saturday, have to take a trip to the doctor tomorrow I think if it isn't better!

TheBlonde · 24/10/2006 10:53

Leo - did you see that Birth prog on BBC4 the other week - it was a repeat (v old) and showed a woman delivering a breech twin naturally!!

Piffle · 24/10/2006 10:57

I was going to mention that
Was AMAZING I've never seen a breech birth, seeing the little foot and leg come out.
Why stirrups - for their convenience no doubt for monitoring etc? Sounds very stern, they'd never get me in them unless I was unconscious, I stood up for both of mine. No way could I have lay down. Esp not on my back. "Stranded beetle" they call it.

divastrop · 24/10/2006 11:00

hello all

kitty-my scan is next tuesday,i had to change it from this week as i couldnt go in half term and drag all the kids with me.especially ds2

rosy-no news on the house yet.i shall just have to wait till they ring me now.

my only experience of stirrups was having stitches after having dd1.very undignified!i probably wouldnt have torn in the first place if theyd let me give birth in a natural position.

i thought you were only 'allowed' extra calories in the last trimester?things keep changing and i never read the prgnancy sites anymore.i havent been eating that much cos i still havent managed to give up smoking.i'm just feeling too crap at the mo and for the past few days its often been a choice between a fag and a panic attack

Hello ladies from the deep south! Sorry I haven't been on for ages - our move was OK but f***g virgin broadband STILL hasn't been switched back on. As a result I am stealing a minute in an internet cafe to get a few phone nos to complain and to have a quick look here.

I haven't read what's been going on as DD is in her buggy and is complaining muchly. I hope you are all well and happy. As soon as I am back online at home, you won't be able to keep me away! I don't really have time to do much at work either as I am actually having to do something on the rare days that I grace them with my lardy presence. I am 18 W now and as I am the arse end of March, I am guessing lots of 20 weeks scans must be taking place. Hope all is well with the babes and everyone is finding out what they are having. We don#t get scans here til 23 weeks so I won't know until end of Nov!!!!

Love to all. Hope to be back properly soon. Take care and keep well XXXXX

kittythescarygoblin · 24/10/2006 12:17

Diva, I suspect that a fag is the lesser of the two evils. poor you.

kittythescarygoblin · 24/10/2006 12:18

Look forward to having you back Dolly

LunarSea · 24/10/2006 12:49

Amie - the Saxon Mill is the nearest pub to my house! (Well it's over the river and across the fields, so not great for winter evenings, but it's definately the nearest as the crow flies).

If you want to push the boat out we could do our mini meetup at the Grand Union - I think it was about £32 for 6 courses including coffee and one glass of wine last time we went, so not cheap, but you don't add too much on to the basic cost if you're not drinking!

Hello everyone !

I had my scan this morning (yes I got the freaking date right this time )

Everything is absolutely hunky dory, the sonographer was LOVELY and gave lots of info.

Its a GIRL ! DH is very pleased except honestly probably wanted a little boy, I am delighted.

Feel very happy today. Cold, boil and other lurgy's are going/gone and THE BUILDERS HAVE FINISHED ! I feel almost like a normal Onilly again.

Dolly P - so glad to hear from you.
Evenhope - great news, you must be pleased

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 24/10/2006 13:57

Hi Girls - hope everyone's happy today.

Lunar and Amie: it sounds lovely where you live. 'Over the river and across the fields...' ahhhh.

Jay: I'm sure your placenta will rise. Placenta praevia is relatively rare, I think.

Laidback: I've decided to completely ignore all the calorie advice. For my height and including the 'extra' we're 'allowed', I'd be on 2250, and that just wouldn't cut it at the moment. I'm permanently hungry, and if I don't eat I'm sick. I've decided to worry about it a couple of months after the baby's born.

Although I was a little distressed to see a slight dewlap forming under my chin the other day.

Kitty: good luck taking all your brood to the scan. I bet they'll get excited when they see your new one wiggling around.

Mine's kicking all the time now. Saw the obstetrician today (they needed to check some blood-results: all fine), and she commmented on how kicky LO is. Does that mean I'm going to have a hyperactive one?

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 24/10/2006 13:58

X posts Onilly: CONGRATULATIONS!

RabidZombieAmie · 24/10/2006 14:13

Congrats onilly! I'm pleased for you.. about everything! Bathroom look good?

Lunar.. I think I know where abouts you are.. spent many a time walking over those fields from In Laws to the Saxon Mill!

glad all is well Whoo!

getting nervous about scan now

onillyboilsandbroomsticks · 24/10/2006 14:27

thanks Amie and Whoo... yes, I think I am rejoicing way to loudly about the builders, they will be back in a week or two, but we have scaled back our plans significantly and I can only hope that our building project in Cornwall satisfies DH's need to rebuild everything.....

Have to say, as always, its worth it - the bathroom is fab. Quite lovely.

Have told mum that she is having a grand daughter and she burst into tears. Almost unheard of but I think she is going soft in her old age !

About food.... hmmm - yes the appetite is certainly blossoming. I actually got up in the middle of the night last night and had a bowl of cereal...I was STARVING. Agree the 2500 calories seems a pittance. Being chubby to start off with I was hoping the baby could live off the current fat roll! Afraid not! I am with you Whoo, deal with it later! Hey-ho.

divastrop · 24/10/2006 14:55

onilly-congrats on your scan

i just had a cream cake as the baby wanted one.ive been weighing myself every week and have not been putting the weight on as quickly as last time...im so sure im having a boy.
i bought a maternity top today
