New thread because the last one was giving me "Sorry, this thread is too big to accept new messages".
Onilly - sorry, yes I am sure it's due date - see here - "the Regulations apply to women expecting their babies on or after 1 April 2007.... If an employee's 'expected week of child-birth' falls before 1 April 2007 the old rules will apply."

OP posts:

mmm - cereal snacks - me too - I've been on the extra rations of shreddies and a cream cake a day for the last week or so. We must be going through a 'growing stage' . and I've got my maternity trousers and tops out of the attic so it's all getting more real.
I get some kicks now and again and dh felt them the other day which was sweet but it's generally a very relaxed baby so I'm hoping either for a girl or a lazy boy. It's definitely nowhere near as active as my first two and they are now totally hyper so it started prenatally!
hope you are all doing well. I am usually in an evil mood and very shouty. hope dh doesn't divorce me before I get back to my normal grouchy state

dollyp - how's the new house?

onilly - glad the scan went well - I've been getting dates hopelessly wrong all month. Told everyone the painters were coming last week and took everything down off the walls, then realised it was this week - oops.

fox - how was the holiday?

morocco · 24/10/2006 16:52

there you go - completely forgot something already!!

did anyone read about the flu jab being authorised for pregnant women due in march next year (ie us) cos it's supposed to reduce likelyhood of childhood leukaemia? in todays daily mail I think. I was hoping to get one anyway when ds1 got his so now I will push harder to be given it. If they ever get stocks in again.

Piffle · 24/10/2006 17:03

Onilly pinkness!!!!
Congrats!
anyone else still not gaining weight?
I'm getting worried - the bump is there, baby kicks... quite a lot considering 18 weeks - dp even felt it the other day.
does this mean I'm going to morph into beached whale beast in the 2nd half or what?or a by product of craving fruit an stir fries?
Hope everyone else is well, ds (12) is away with his dad for half term, dp is way til friday, just me and dd which is BLISS!

Piffle · 24/10/2006 17:05

flu jab is between nov NEXt yr and march 2008
Sorry... there are problems with supply of flu jab this year as well...
If you are at risk you should get yours normally?

morocco · 24/10/2006 17:12

drat! just the kind of thing I hate knowing then - why something is good for you then why you can't have it lol!

ds1 gets it and i can get it as a home based carer but when I asked last week they said it was a live vaccine. That freaked me out cos ds isn't supposed to have live vaccines but I think they got it wrong. Of course, now they've given them all out already and we have to wait. And ds1 is sick again so can't have it anyway. Sigh!

Piffle · 24/10/2006 17:30

We all had the flu two weeks ago
Twas awful ds got it the worst he is 12...
Grim. Hate to think baby might have suffered - the joy of flu when you cannot take
decongestants, lemsips and hot toddies...

Rosyspookily · 24/10/2006 17:52

Gosh I didn't realise it was the flu in pregnancy connected to childhood leukeamia Thats frightening. I think we only know the tip of the ice berg about viruses! Garlic and honey. Get it down you everyone, (not together obviously.)

And speaking of garlic I am making a big garlicy pot of curry at the moment. slurp. My face is a mess from chopping the onions. Last week dh made a real witches brew of a curry with fresh beetroot, a big pot of bubbling purple spiciness. ooh it was delicious.

I had two cream buns today! How funny a while back we were all craving crisps, now its cream buns!

Onilly that is lovely to hear about your girl!

Jaykillandhide · 25/10/2006 09:10

is there a new thread i dont know about...... where is everyon? very unlike you guys to be quiet for longer than an hour!!

LaidbackinaTransylvaniancoffin · 25/10/2006 11:34

Hi Jay - I am here

Confined to the house this afternoon as there are more shooting sounds coming from the naval base near us. Grimness indeed .

Rosy - is it your DH that works in Pakistan ? Sounds like you both make a mean curry !

Second the garlic and honey remedies... I also eat tons of ginger when I feel like I am getting ill.

Piffle - I haven't put on much weight either , but have a definate bump and little kicks !

Off for another snack

RabidZombieAmie · 25/10/2006 11:40

I'm here too! Also noticed the emptiness

I've bought a bar of dairy milk and enjoying it immensely!

Hmmm Ginger.. I love Ginger! Best bit of MS was being able to eat ginger! good excuse!

Got a few bottles of De-alcholised wine in at work today! they're coming home with me for a sampling!

I've not put on too much weight, thankfully. but have changed shape! Not too much bump but I know its there.. think I feel movement very occasionally.. need to work out a correlation between when I feel "movement" and when DH dons his apron and cooks!

More and more anxiety over upcoming scan! I need to relax...

kittythescarygoblin · 25/10/2006 13:43

hello, got rid of the first three children 'till Staurday, horray. My dad's taken them back to Bath with him. A don't quite know what to do with myself, only two, it's like I'm on holiday

Many congrats Onilly, you must be really chuffed

I'm not nearly as big this time as last time. Not sure about the boy/girl preg size thing though as I've been big and small with boys and girls.
I'm more the size now that I was with no. 4, whereas I was a big round pud with 3 and 5 and they were all girls.

Whatever, eat what you want. I think your body is by far the best gauge as to how much and what you need to eat.

I had dreadful flu at the beginning of my 3rd preg. I was bed ridden for at least three weekss and it developed in to
pnuemonia. Not something I want to repeat

Piffle · 25/10/2006 13:59

Afternoon everyone.
Anyone else getting headaches?
Had one in background all yesterday, along with trapped nerve in neck and shoulder oh yes and the SPD which has just started firing into my groin later in the day. Joy of joys.
Then about 9pm, blinding severe headache, could barely seem whole head stung with pain.
I took paracetamol turned the light off and shook, was so worried, I nearly called the doctor but it subsided and I had a decent sleep considering - fine headache wise today.
Really caught me though.

Piffle · 25/10/2006 14:00

And sorry for only ever coming on to moan

kiwibella · 25/10/2006 14:47

Hi girls... we've been away for a few days and I'm almost afraid to start reading what I have missed . Really hope that everyone is feeling well and doing ok. Congrats Onilly... both for a beautiful daughter and the building work!! I'm off to catch up... no doubt I will have more to say soon .

Eva1977 · 25/10/2006 15:53

Hello! We are having our first baby in March (16th) next year and will be moving from Reading to Lancaster soon. As I don't know anybody in that part of England, I thought it would be nice to get to know other mums-to-be up there. My husand has moved to Lancaster already, I am following mid-December due to work commitments. I want to avoid moving to Lancaster and not knowing anybody at all, so if you live anywhere near Lancaster, just drop me a line?!

Eva1977 · 25/10/2006 16:02

Piffle, thanks for your message re this thread - am new to mumsnet

I also have been having very bad headaches for the past couple of days - they didnt even go away whilst asleep. Not nice!! Just hope it won't continue for the rest of the pregnancy...have read quite a few stories about women who had constant headaches during pregnancy...

RabidZombieAmie · 25/10/2006 16:38

welcome Eva! Enjoy your stay!

divastrop · 25/10/2006 17:10

hello everyone.
this is the first time ive been on today.i got up late(9am ) and have been trying to catch up since.

kitty-2 children always seem easy when ur used to more dont they?my mum took the older 2 to hers for 9 days in the summer and it was so quiet.they used to go away with their father sometimes but that is no more.

eva1977-hello and welcome i am about 40 miles from lancaster,in barrow-in-furness.i am also from the south(essex).is 1977 your year of birth?

piffle-i started a thread on pg headaches a few days ago when mine wasreally bad.glad urs is easing off now.

hope evreybody else is ok.

20 weeks today-yipee,halfway there

Eva1977 · 25/10/2006 17:40

yes, 1977 is my year of birth - not a very original nickname
I am actually originally from the north of Germany, but came over to England for uni in 96. Apart from a year spent travelling and a year working in Bavaria, I have been living over here since.

LaidbackinaTransylvaniancoffin · 25/10/2006 17:55

Welome Eva and hello again kiwibella

I have had a headache all afternoon - but after eating some supper it has finally gone away - Hooray

Piffle I am starting to expereince some SPD symptoms too. Not as bad as you by the sounds of it - but really uncomfortable at night. Having to sleep with a pillow between my knees to keep my pelvis stable. Hopefully it wont get too much worse for any of us.

The good news is that the shooting sounds we heard earlier was just a naval exercise.... nice of them to warn people !!

Booked tickets to pick up the boys from England on 2nd November. Spoke to DS2 (2.3) on the phone today who is being spoilt rotten and he announced " I'm eating a chocolate brownie " I asked him where he got it from and he said " a dirty lady" ...god knows what thats all about ???

Kitty do you ever go to the bonfire night at Lewes or is it just too much with your brood ?

kittythescarygoblin · 25/10/2006 18:22

laidback, i have been to the fireworks a couple of times, but they are rrally heavy duty. i think it's far too dangerous for small childre, open tar barrels etc.

"dirty lady" eh? How strange

shanks313 · 25/10/2006 18:39

Onilly-Congrats on a little girl...same as me

I had my consultant appointment last week and everything looks well,my blood pressure was normal and we heard the heartbeat.

I hve only just started gaining weight,I havent had any definite kicks yet but I think i feel flutters sometimes.I have been told that its not time to worry yet.

We listen to the baby on our fetal monitor and she is always having a good move around and kick.
Although the last 2 days we have noticed a faster heartbeat than normal, and today I had the normal heartbeat and the faster one at the same time which seemed strange.Im not that big so I dont think it could be a twin hiding lol.Not after 2 scans not picking it up.

21+1

Rosyspookily · 25/10/2006 18:43

Laidback, my dh is Pakistani, he works in cork and comes home every other week. Making a mean curry and stuffing our faces with it is one of our main talents!

Welcome Eva

I think this thread gets a bit quiet every now and then at the moment cuz fox is on holiday

I've had a headache a couple of times with tiredness and possibly hunger. But I'm not getting the migraines I usually get with my cycle at least!

20 wks 3

Rosyspookily · 25/10/2006 18:47

Hi shanks, when the midwife was listening to the heart beat at my last check up, we heard both mine- the normal rate and the faster one-baby's. Imagine discovering twins at this stage

divastrop · 25/10/2006 19:39

eva-i was born in 1977,thats why i asked.my due date is march 14th,but i am expecting baby no.5

ive been getting sciatica(sp?)for the past few days.i do suffer with it in pg,last time it wasnt too bad but when i was expecting ds2 it started around this stage and by week 35 i could hardly walk.

dirty lady?!maybe the woman in the shop had flour all over her or something?

i felt the baby move during the day for the first time today.ive only felt it in the evening when ive been sitting down sofar.
