New thread because the last one was giving me "Sorry, this thread is too big to accept new messages".
Onilly - sorry, yes I am sure it's due date - see here - "the Regulations apply to women expecting their babies on or after 1 April 2007.... If an employee's 'expected week of child-birth' falls before 1 April 2007 the old rules will apply."

OP posts:

We have a parents evening later today as well. must try and think of some intelligent questions to ask...

Anyone know of a flea pit, sorry play pit, in SE we could do a meet at? Syon Park is probably too far "into" london, and Brighton area maybe "too far sarf". Any in south London, or near M25 southish bit?????

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 18/10/2006 14:34

Can't help you there, as I've not yet entered that world. Only been into one once, and the accoustics did my head in.

Will do some research...

RabidZombieAmie · 18/10/2006 14:38

bit worried.. My IL's have invited my parents out for a bite to eat... is this my MIL's evil doing to discuss what Sam and I should or should not be doing?

who knows after the email she sent my mother the other week.

Luckily for me, My Mum has reassured me if MIL thinks she's going to spend the evening discussing us she's got another thing coming! My Step Dad asked my Mum why she'd agreed to go, as their son had married me, they hadn't married them! LOL

divastrop · 18/10/2006 14:53

why dont you all go to starbucks or whatever its called and let your kids run riot

ive just come back from shopping for a party outfit for dd1.she is nearly 8 but in size 10-11 clothes which all seem to be miniature versions of what my skinny friends used to wear to nightclubs when we were 17.
finally found a nice, pretty dress in debenhams but just remembered its a party at the bowling alley

pregnant and blonde.theres no hope.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 18/10/2006 17:45

Preg and old over here, Diva

DD has bitten her tongue and has not eaten for 2 days as it hurts too much. So just treated her to a really unhealthy bowl of those instant noodle things with a "flavoured" sachet of powder. She gobbled it down

Then of course it was my duty to join her in having a bowl, along with DS and DH.

We've got vanilla yogurt with choco balls to follow...

Yummy

kittythescarygoblin · 18/10/2006 18:05

vomit city here.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 18/10/2006 19:13

eeeek

Is it both ends?

divastrop · 18/10/2006 19:51

can you vomit out of your bottom then ,fox?

my older 2 hardly ever get bugs now-i think their immune systems are pretty strong.ds2 brings home lovely things from nursery which he passes to his baby sister.ohhh i hate winter.it just goes cold-tummy bug-cold for 4 months.

apart from me,of course.i dont have time to be ill.

Jaykillandhide · 18/10/2006 20:01

lol diva, i was going to say the same thing re 'both ends'.....!

Laidback, i meant to answer you before about the probation officer training, my cohort was 7a, its a long and complicated story re the job now, but i have asked for a transfer to Nottingham (from London), and i would like to think i could finish it when the new baby has come, but that would effectively mean i join cohort 10a!!!! i just dont know at the moment. What office were you attached to? I worked in the Eastend, Bethanal Greeen to be precise, LOTS of probation work there i can tell you !!!

right off to watch how clean is your house, makes me feel sooooo gooood about my house ( even though its not spotless!!!!)

kittythescarygoblin · 18/10/2006 20:07

Not yet, but I'll tell you what happened this evening. I'm sitting at the kitchen table chatting to dd1 with dd3, also sicky and tired on my knee. I feel a wave of sickiness, so with fat baby under one arm ( not any easy feat) I dash to the kitchen sink, heave a few times, but the angle is all wrong and I can feel the old stomach muscles and pelvic floor feeling the strain, so i have to bend over and vomit on the floor, no choice. Fat baby is still under one arm, so I put her on the floor , again no choice because of the violence of the heaving. So, I'm sick all over the baby who thinks it's great and proceeds to rubs her hands , legs everything in whatever vomit she can find.
You know it was just one of those moments that only a mother could have and only another mother could truly appreciate!! Sorry to put you off your food.
Have been sick a few times since then, but not over the baby

kittythescarygoblin · 18/10/2006 20:09

Then you think that's what being an ill mother means. You need to vomit, well just fit it in around all the other things you have to do. Now, if it were a man............

divastrop · 18/10/2006 20:52

...he would take to his bed for days and expect you to wait on him

yes i remember the ms a few weeks ago..'hang on (ds/dd),im just throwing up,ill do it in a minute!'

Rosyspookily · 18/10/2006 22:25

Kitty its about time mother gets own back and pukes on the baby instead of the other way round! You poor things though, horrible.
Today I got a gorgeous fancy dress party outfit for dd age 3 in m&s. Its a princessy gown thing really sweet.
Ds1 loves rubbishy noodles, I make him eat them cooked with frozen peas and a fried egg on top!
Am a bit jealous of you guys meeting up.
I want to nosey at everyones kids and bumps too!
My house is still a big horrible mess and bil will probably not be surprised by my inadequate housekeeping skills. Anyway in the words of my 3 year old...'flippin poo' I don't care anymore!

divastrop · 18/10/2006 22:58

rosy-u and i could meet on the isle of man

LaidbackinaTransylvaniancoffin · 18/10/2006 23:55

What a day !

Have decided that DH and I are returning to SL tomorrow without the boys (who are staying in UK with Grandparents) . We will see how things are out there and then either come back and get them or pack up and return

Too much to think about - but glad I'm not puking !

Jay - I worked for Sussex Probation ... noticed you were at Chichester studying at one point - are you from these parts ??

Will be flying tomorrow and arrive in SL Fri am, so will catch up and update then.

Hope pukers feel better soon xx

Rosyspookily · 19/10/2006 09:53

Yeah Diva let that lot catch fleas in smelly play place! We'll meet somewhere clean and fresh. Hows about the good housekeeping threads?

Laidback its lucky you got the bargain flights now isn't it! You poor things, I hope it all falls into place soon. Hope your journey is comfortable.

I'm in a rotten old mood today, too tired and very stressed trying to clean the house for bil. His wife is like the queen of housewives and mothers and I'm feeling all complicated and inadequate. And dh doesn't care so he's snoring and I feel like throwing a bucket of water over him!

Anyway I'm drowning my sorrows with jammy doughnuts and tea. humph

kittythescarygoblin · 19/10/2006 10:05

Rosy, don't feel inadequate. This will make you feel better. I clearly have more children than I can cope with: yesterday, I was about to drive home from the school run and I remebered, only just in time, that I'd left the 3 year old in the playground. A few weeks ago I was about to drive off and I spotted the baby, still in her car seat in the road next to the car. I nearly ran her over, there I bet that makes you feel better

Rosyspookily · 19/10/2006 10:44

hee hee

morocco · 19/10/2006 10:53

hi all
hope it all goes well laidback, I will be thinking of you both. I bet the boys are excited about a bit more grandparent time at any rate!
I'm doing Ok but get a good day then a bad day. It hink I do too much. Yesterday I was terrified cos I got such bad cramps i couldn't walk or hardly stand. It went on for about an hour and I think it was cos I'd been doing too much - digging in the garden, cleaning house, then teaching late at night. My body told me it was time to stop and I didn't have much say in the matter. Felt some kicks today so I guess all is OK baby wise.
I'm very hormonal and tearful though. And this morning I was sick. I think I only get morning sickness when I've worked too much.
hope you are all well
dd 13/3/07

Piffle · 19/10/2006 11:11

Sorry to hear about the sick bug Kitty, sounds grim.
We had a flu cough cold bug around last week as well, horrid being ill when pregnant as the remedies SUCK and awful being ill when your kids are ill too.
Anyway today, SPd/sacro iliac pain off and on, reducing with regular ice packs and stretching, so am converted and osteo was right.
Puppies are being little gobshites and have dug into the neighbours garden - lovely lady who has just lost her husband after long illness and adores her garden - so I've been out in pouring rain with rake and broom, now sitting with aforementioned ice pack in hope of relief.
DP is sick at work down south, poor love, 200 miles away and no one to love him.

divastrop · 19/10/2006 11:25

rosy-i have never been near the housekeeping threads.i see housework as something that has to be done to keep rats a nd fleas at bay and only has to be done properly if my mother is visiting

kitty-forgetting your child!the amount of times ive gone out, pushing dd2's buggy, and said to dd1'did i put the baby in the pushchair?'.

im a bit fed up today cos the housing association rang last week saying there was a 4 bedroom house coming up and did we want to look at it,but i heard yesterday from a freind who knows the woman whos moving out that she is moving cos the neighbours do karaoke every night till 3 or 4am
dont know what to do now,we have no room for the baby where we are now.

19+1

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 19/10/2006 11:30

Kitty - LOL at vision of the sick etc. You did remember your baby - that's the main thing, so you were able to bring her home and vomit on her!!! You poor sickie thing

Morocco Hi (waves) (I'm of to Morocco Sunday )

Laidback - hope your trip goes well, what a difficiult time for you

Rosy - my house is a tip too. I cancelled a visit from our neighbour Tuesday 'cos I was too ashemend to let Mrs Perfect see the state of our "pit"!!

If its any consoltaion, my sister's house is a tip and she doesn't give a toss!!!

Hi everone else

Think I'm 20+4 but lost the plot

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 19/10/2006 11:32

Diva - call the HA and ask them about this history of noise nuisance, anti social behaviour etc - I'll ask here if that's grounds for turning it down etc etc

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 19/10/2006 12:06

Diva - just had a chat with our District Housing Manager.

He said the best thing to do is ring the housing officer/manager and ask them about the noise nuisance problem and in particular what they are doing to resolve it.

Although they won't be able to give you any confidential information about the next door neighbours; they should be able to give you some general information about how close they are to resolving the noise problem from next door and actions taken to date.

You can also ask them, if you move in, what actions you should take e.g. keeping a noise diary, reporting any noise and who you need to report it to etc and what the HA would do in response.

His advice was that its probably better to accept the property as 4 beds don't come up very often and then pressure the HA to deal with the neighbours. Of course, on balance its your decision at the end of the day.

Have you been waiting a long time for this property offer? Did you bid for it on Locata or is it a transfer or an exchange??

I suppose you could also just move in and then have even louder Karaoke's??? (sorry, that's not helpful is it?)

divastrop · 19/10/2006 12:55

fox-wow thank you for going to the trouble of asking about the house thing for me.the HA has properties dotted all over the place and the one in question is on its own,the house next door is privatley owned so i dont know if they would be able to do anything about the noise problem is there is one.
we put in for a transfer in may i think.4 bedroom houses are like gold dust,i know.i could hire a pa system i suppose, but that would keep my own children awake
