New thread because the last one was giving me "Sorry, this thread is too big to accept new messages".
Onilly - sorry, yes I am sure it's due date - see here - "the Regulations apply to women expecting their babies on or after 1 April 2007.... If an employee's 'expected week of child-birth' falls before 1 April 2007 the old rules will apply."

OP posts:

I've spent the whole day arguing on a thread where I have been misquoted and not listened to

RabidZombieAmie · 16/10/2006 17:10

Lunarsea - must be why I've not seen them is still busy working away!

Annie - EEEK!

for those who were concerned I've had a movement! I know its TMI but I feel so relieved and a few sotnes lighter!

sorry guys...

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 16/10/2006 17:11

Kitty, I've been watching with interest but not sure I'm brave enough to post, or clear headed enough!

I think you should come and have a break over here for a bit.

RabidZombieAmie · 16/10/2006 17:27

sobs Computer system at work has crashed again for the 3rd time in 3 weeks! gonna be another late one...

anyone here use Sage accounts?

Rosyspookily · 16/10/2006 17:31

cogratulations Amie
Hey wheres the slaggy thread now? There's always at least one on the go somewhere!
Diva I know its depressing but I can't help feeling hopefull that tossers will grow up before another marriage breaks up

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 17:31

Evilannie, am I mad? Why is it that so many times in these threads you just make comment, just give your views and then it goes mad?i stick with these post because I am interested in a reasoned discussion, but with some of these people they jst cannot accept that you have a different perspective on things. Then they turn you into some evil, disgusting axe wielding maniac. I have noticed some familiar faces from other threads. Most of them cannot be bothered to actually read what's been written.

kiwibella · 16/10/2006 17:34

Gee gals... I can't get through all the posts over the weekend but I am interested in the buggy comments. Think I'm going to look at a Quinny too, Whoowhoo. Although I would like a mountain buggy, I'm petrified at getting something on and off a bus / tube. Also, since we live on the third floor, I intend keeping it in the boot of the car. This feels like such a huge decision!!

There seem to be a few blues around. I hope everyone is perking up. If not, try the three chocolate bar remedy (can't find who suggested that now ). Hope the spd isn't too serious

I was lent a fabby book today. I left it at work though and all I can remember about the title is that it is from Queen Charlotte Hospital. It is such simple speak and explains every topic imaginable. I was engrossed .

kiwibella · 16/10/2006 17:36

Kitty it's awful trying to explain yourself online. Hope it doesn't get too messy.

evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 16/10/2006 17:39

Kitty I must admit I can't really understand the threads that invite an opinion, but then totally 'diss' anyone's opinion that doesn't match their's. I am also a bit lost as to what constitutes a 'personal attack', I thought one of the MN rules was to not personally insult, but it seems very loose in upholding this!

Come and have a nice cup of tea and a sit down over here...

TheBlonde · 16/10/2006 17:43

Hi folks, not read all the posts and generally avoiding any threads with a ruck going on

Re buggies - I will probably get a Phil & Teds
DS will be just 2 yrs when the new baby arrives and doesn't do much walking

Kiwi - the best buggies for bus/tube imho are maclarens or similar. If you have a bigger one then I will scowl at you as you'll take up too much space on the bus!!

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 17:45

Thanyou my dear, I shall avoid certain threads from now on and then they can all pat each other's backs in perfect accord whilst puuting the world to rights.

LaidbackinaTransylvaniancoffin · 16/10/2006 17:51

Rabidzombie, So nice to be able to come on to a website and say to someone " Glad you've had a poo! "

Any news from the scan yet Jay ?

I am dead chuffed with myself as managed to save nearly £1000 on my flights back to Sri Lanka .... unbelieveable cheap at £130 each. Kept thought I'd made a mistake ! Going back on Thursday and .

Piffle - I had SPD during my last pregnancy and saw an osteopath that specialised in pregnant women. It was really relaxing as well as helpful - and I really liked being able to lie on my front as they have special shaped cushions to put your bump in !! I second the advice about keeping the legs together. You need to try and avoid loosening the hip joints so some yoga positions for example and breastroke are out ( and sex with your legs above your shoulders )

Must get on some of the other threads at some point . I think I am subconsciously avoiding them as I used to work as a psychotherapist and have enjoyed being away from other peoples "stuff" for a while !!

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 16/10/2006 17:52

Diva - men like that need a kick in the testicals IMHO It reminds me of why I've always liked older men actually; generally they've grown out of all that crap.

Kitty - am off to find your ruck thread if I can. Everyone else is very welcome to join me

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 17:55

Fox, you'll probably think i'm a crazed loon as well.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 16/10/2006 18:13

Kitty - you're not a crazed loon; just less sentimental than some

I see the father is still courting publicity though

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 16/10/2006 18:27

Is everyone cooking dinner or something?

..wish DH would appear with some Cadbury's Dairy Milk; like that man in the old Milk Tray advert..

""...and its all because the Lady lurves Dairy Milk!"

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 18:31

Thanks foxy, no I'm not really sentmental it's true. the threads calmed down at the mo, it'll probably fire up again later.

zombiebridepenny · 16/10/2006 18:42

HI everyone feeling really mad today, just had the biggest fit of anger on DP about an argument involving his MIL ! Arghh I ws so mad I attacked him with slaps threw some stuff around the room and went into a screaming fit. He's gone out to his mothers. I'm not sure what happened but I just snapped, he wasn't listening to me at all and I've been trying to tell him all day. I even frightened myself!

kiwibella · 16/10/2006 18:52

oooh, Penny... awwww!! Give him a call when you have calmed down. He's probably wondering what's going on too .

Blondie... the Maclaren's rings a bell, think it has been mentioned before. I've been doing a lot of "buggy-watching" and thought the Quinny job was on the small side. I also like the idea of clipping the baby carseat in to the frame. Although, another product which I am in two minds about... do I need a baby carseat or should I get a birth -> right through?!?!?

Been to the shops and managed to resist the chocolate. Kicking myself now... will have to settle for my pineapple and berries.

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 16/10/2006 18:58

Penny : it's yer hormones. (Don't mean to sound patronising, sorry. You may also have been perfectly justified!).

I've been vile to DH all weekend. Luckily he's very into therapy books and is being incredibly patient with me, as he's done a bit of reading up on the way pregnancy affects mood etc. Lucky really: I think I might leave me for a bit if I could.

Kitty: I saw that row. Sorry I didn't step in and defend you. I'm too hormonal at the moment not to take personal offence if people jump on me, so thought I'd best stay out of it. Was amazed that so many people hadn't thought about what would happen to their children in the event of their death, though. We've already nominated potential carers for if the worst happens. Maybe we're the weird ones.

Congratulations on your dump Amie

Fatfox: saw your post about Dairy Milk, and put my order in with DH.

Yeah, the whole Yummy Mummy thing. It's just so... I don't know. It makes my skin crawl a bit. I've really never liked being labelled, but that particular one really gets my back up. It's just so bl**dy Stepford Wives, isn't it?

Having said that, Bugaboos do everything they say on the tin...

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 18:58

Penny, do you feel justified or crap?

Whoowhoobewhooooooh · 16/10/2006 18:59

btw diva, the yummies take their kids into Costa Coffee and let them run riot.

But that's a whole other contentious thread (and I'm not a Mummy yet, so for all I know may end up doing exactly the same).

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 19:18

It's ok Whoowhoo, I don't know what it is that makes me stick around once these things kick off.

Yummy mummies, yuk. There were a whole gang of them a a kids birthday party at the local farm. There kids all had what I would call pretentious names like zakie and sasha and the parents had berets on and laughed loudly. There were alot of yummy daddies there too, alot of them had pink shirts on (is there a connection?).
Anyway the kids were running riot and the parents seemed to have gone temporarily blind and were deafened by the noise of their very own loud laughter so they couldn't hear what their kids were up to either..
I find it fascinating to watch. I just have to shoo their children away from trashing mine every now and again.

divastrop · 16/10/2006 19:42

kitty-when u get in a row on another thread can u post a link on hereim sooo nosey and it always takes me ages to find them

so yummy mummies are those who have children as a fashion accessory rather than a life choice?i get it now.more work for the psychotherapists in 20 years time.

fox-dp is the first 'younger' man ive had a relationship with and hes more mature than any of the previous men ive been out with.i think its got somthing to do with the amount of men who still live with mummy till they are in their mid 30's....they then expect their wives to live up to the same standard whilst they behave like teenagers.

penny-somtimes it does you good to have a good rant.is everything ok now?

amie-congratulations on the arrival

kittythescarygoblin · 16/10/2006 20:01

Here you are diva, nothing you can say will get them going, it's only me they're interested in
here
