Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 17th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 33rd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Ah ok. You have to go through an awful lot of extra stuff zyla.

ZylaB · 11/12/2014 23:16

Yeah it's fun fun fun wil :/

chat I've just read a BMJ article following the smallish trial of antenatal expressing in diabetics, it was one laying out their findings And how they want to do a larger study (was out this year so good and recent). Apparently in the initial trial it made a positive change in the amount of mums who carried on breastfeeding which is better for the babies in a few ways, but looks like more of the babies went to neonatal, and also were born on average a week earlier at 37 weeks instead of 38. How the fuck am I meant to decide what's best for her?!

lildottie · 11/12/2014 23:41

zyla would starting later than in the study be an option? so if they started at WK 36 and laboured at WK 37 could you start at say 37.5wks to hopefully labour past 38 weeks?

splodge77 · 12/12/2014 00:00

Hi viroids, any recommendations for mat/nursing bra shops or brands? My bazongas are so heavy & massive now - must be almost hitting a G cup I reckon & so I need some better support!

ZylaB · 12/12/2014 05:02

I'm meant to be having a more in depth discussion with my obstetrician next week lil I don't think they like us to go too far past 38 weeks cos a diabetics placenta is more likely to fail, or not work as well and it gives much higher chance of late stillborns! (Shit all this stuff is getting a bit real now!!) so I'm going to pin her down to an induction/CS date, then discuss if I should be expressing beforehand!

willywallace · 12/12/2014 06:56

I need some too Splodge. Just got some cheapish ones in two-packs last time from mothercare and m&s but they're not great. Esp if you're used to bras with a bit of shape. I always feel like I look saggy. The women in the shop will tell you it's too early to buy feeding bras but don't listen to them (if you want to bf), as it saves buying double the amount.

laurenamium · 12/12/2014 07:13

Morning viroids! Just checking in! Nothing exciting is happening here, its DDs birthday on Sunday and her party tomorrow so I'm just muddling on with that. Hope everyone is okay (have only scan read the thread) la she wbu whatever she did Grin

Minion · 12/12/2014 08:07

Sooooooo, I've been awake since 3:30, had a bit of a clear out now on sofa with very mild but regular ertd pains!
Hoping it's the start of something but ive heard so many stories of false alarms!

Pisghetti · 12/12/2014 08:09

Morning viroids. Min that sounds like a wonderful send off x

Stood on side of M4. Car broken down. Bad times Hmm

Leela5 · 12/12/2014 08:10

Crossing fingers for you min!

Pis that sounds bad :(. Is help on it's way?

Pisghetti · 12/12/2014 08:10

X post - eeeeek min!!

Pisghetti · 12/12/2014 08:12

RAC due in 30-40 mins - I'm a priority apparently! It's bloody freezing Hmm

couldbeanyone · 12/12/2014 08:16

Min glad yesterday went well for you. Smile Today sounds promising - hope not a false alarm!

Poor you pis - not the best weather to be broken down in.

willywallace · 12/12/2014 08:20

Hope this is is for you Min.

Pis that sucks. Has happened to me a few times - really not fun.

Hope Little Lauren's party goes well.

Indigoblue2 · 12/12/2014 08:46

Hi viroids, just checking in, not been on much. Is it ok that I'm not feeling sick yet? I'm 5+2 but ovulated day 19 so bean is actually 5 days younger than I suppose they expect (with cd14 icing). I've got sore boobs but not really nauseous yet. Is this normal?

Indigoblue2 · 12/12/2014 08:48

Thinking of you pis - that sucks Hmm

lauren have a fun balloon filled day Smile

laurenamium · 12/12/2014 08:49

Very exciting min Grin hope it is the start for you!

Pis what a nightmare? Have you got recovery coming for you? What's happened?

Indigo I was very smug and thought I had missed the sickness...it hit with vengeance at about 7/8 weeks, enjoy food while you can Wink

Indigoblue2 · 12/12/2014 08:57

Yeah min that definitely sounds promising! Hope they pick up and keep going Smile

Nessalina · 12/12/2014 09:10

Hey viroids Smile

Pis - oh bugger! Hope the RAC have got to you!

Min - Ooh, that's how I got started! If they're coming and going then that sounds very early laboury Grin
It sounds like your Dad had an amazing send off Smile Really pleased for you that you could do the reading! Welled up a bit at your post, I love my Dad so much, I can't imagine what you're going through, but I'm glad that you're feeling in a positive place for little Robyn's arrival! Smile

Zyla - personally I can't see that there's much benefit in expressing colostrum beforehand. Assuming you can BF straight off the bat then she'll drink as much as her tiny tummy will hold, so having extra expressed won't be useful will it? And if you can't BF straight away (like I couldn't due to his TT) then it only takes about 20mins to squeeze off a syringe full of colostrum and feed manually, and you can do that every two hours initially til you can get BFing going (we used a nipple shield) and you'll have all the support of the post-natal midwives helping you with expressing technique. I'd read about it, and been to the NCT BFing class, but until your squeezing your own boob it's pretty tricky to get the hang of it! The only time I can see that it'd be good to have some colostrum in advance is if you end up with EMCS because you won't be able to express immediately, and whilst normally that wouldn't be an issue (I didn't know this before giving birth, but babies don't NEED food immediately, it's recommended they get first feed within 8hrs, and it was the full 8hrs before J got his first 4ml of colostrum), if you need to feed quickly to stabilise sugars then I guess it would be more of an issue... But you've got to balance that with the possibility of early labour coming on with nipple stimulation. It's a tricky one, but that's my two cents, hope it's helpful! Smile

Splodge - Bravissimo are excellent if you have one nearby! Good measuring service, and not too crazy expensive. They're fab for the bigger busted viroid! I got my mid pregnancy and nursing bras there Smile M&S were good for v.late pregnancy soft bras, and the Mothercare ones I got were utter crap - split down the seam after only 5-6 wears!

Leela5 · 12/12/2014 09:51

Are you rescued yet pis?

Great advice on maternity bras thank you! I'll look into bravissimo. Is there a brand called jojo maman bebe that's meant to be good too?

I'm worried today - sickness has gone and I feel fine. I'm so scared about mmc. I'm 9 weeks today and just hoping sickness comes back.

Indigo - I was same as you, anxious coz of no sickness. Mine hit at 7 weeks and has been constant until two days ago. Don't worry!

RPopz · 12/12/2014 09:55

I've not had any leakage yet, but I know ladies in another group who have as early as 30 weeks Shock You can encourage it apparently with warm baths, massage, visualising snuggling your new born etc. It'd be tiny amounts though - you'd need some sterile syringes to collect it and freeze it in. The colostrum is the first thing to come in after birth though isn't it? And you'd want to feed straight away to encourage your milk to come in and get the supply and demand going... so would you need to express prior anyway? Forgive me if I misunderstand x

Oooh sounds promising Min! Grin

DH has been "clearing out" all night... Hope he's not in labour Shock Grin !!

JuniDD · 12/12/2014 09:58

good luck min!

la I felt a bit better on and off at 9 weeks.

Cymraes17 · 12/12/2014 10:09

I love jojo maman bebe for childrens clothes. They are beautiful, wash well and seem to be comfortable. they are a tad on the expensive side of children clothes but they look well on my 3rd even after eldest and a famly friend has worn them, am worried because they only go to 5-6, what will i do next time DC 1 needs to go up a size?
Have tried a few maternity things, in the box waiting to be used again, but not tried the bras, that reminds me bras..... must get fitted not still in underwired bra promise
Had leakage with DC1 from 28 weeks, had to change clothes mid parents evening, was told not to worry, but baby arrived @33 weeks!

Pisghetti · 12/12/2014 10:18

Looking forward to an update Min Grin

I got to the office - at least it is warmer here! I'm going to leave the car here for the weekend and get a train home. A couple of sensors have gone - it sounds like a couple of hundred of pounds to get fixed which isn't unreasonable however the car is 13 years old with 145k on the clock and we also need to look at replacing the clutch fairly soon so we need to bite the bullet and get a new(er) car really. I'll have DP's while he's away until the New Year so that gives me a bit of time at least! I'll have to take the pram along to car dealerships to make sure I can fit it in the boot of whatever I choose Smile

I'd also recommend getting nursing bras now to save buying twice. Just be prepared for DP/DH being delighted by the functionality Hmm

I've had a little leakage - nothing to show on my clothes yet.

Where's Kato?
