sandulacek · 11/12/2014 15:55

Bangles how was your posh xmas lunch?

JacktheLab · 11/12/2014 16:10

Oh Frenetic, thats a horrible letter, I thought at first that it was your new hospital though, good thing I read it through again! They are a shower of s**ts!

WhyO try not to feel so bad my lovely, I doubt your weight has anything do with it, there are plenty of women who have problems when they are pregnant whatever their weight. I never managed to lose the weight that I put on with my ds either.

I got my request for a c section approved by the consultant, it was a very random moment as he phoned up the theatre or whatever and booked the date, provisionally seven weeks from today, so 29th January.

I'm crossing everything that everyone else gets the birth they want too.

BanglesSpangles · 11/12/2014 16:52

Oh my actual christ, Frenetic, that is ludicrous! At least your midwife thinks it's ridiculous too. I'd take it to the daily mail!

Lovely lunch, thanks sand- I'm v lucky i work in a small office and we're not massive drinkers so go out for a nice lunch for Christmas rather than to the pub. Must say though, is always amazing how reasonable posh hotels and restaurants are for lunch- the 3 course set menu was only 35 quid! Glad to hear your scan went well :)

Hi everyone. Have been enjoying following everyone's news, frenetic- can't believe how unreasonable the hospitals remarks are, hope you are able to just ignore them!

Update from me; twins are both growing well but are both breech still so they have booked me in for the 12th of Jan...Eek! They will continue to scan up to that point so if twin one can manage to wiggle head down it will be an induction instead.

Unfortunately I am supposed to have received specialist perinatal psychiatry care throughout my pregnancy as I have bipolar disorder but I am yet to meet them. I was supposed to have an appt today to discuss a birth plan but they cancelled. It's a worry for me as I need to make a decision about when and if I should come of my anti psychotic medication. But it was a huge worry to the midwives this afternoon at my routine anti natal appt. Think the tragic news last week has clearly impacted upon maternity staff as they seemed to treat the situation as an emergency even though I am really well at the moment. I know the importance of a plan in case of relapse but I don't want a big fuss!

LancashireTea · 11/12/2014 19:23

Well deffo got GD. But silver linings are found in the fact I've only put on 1kg since August and I get more scans (and therefore days away from school! )

Really the lack of eating sugar is no different to being on slimming world again. But without quark. And fry light.Wink

Memphisbelly · 11/12/2014 19:34

tonights glad to hear babies are doing well, I got my phychiatrist letter within 5 days of referal, I decided to ignore the letter I am hoping they dont use it against me somehow I just have a great mw team and hv, they know what happened last time and I feel fully supported and dont want another appointment about my mental health as this time I feel ok so far and feel like pre empting it is setting me personally up for fall. Hope you get your letter soon.

I was shocked that the lady in Bristol was able to leave the hospital at all in our hospital you arent even allowed to walk in ward holding baby it has to go into the cot the be wheeled about, also to leave the ward we have alarmed/ magnetised locked door that a mw has to open then once downstairs you are behind a door behind reception and to take a baby out you need to have a name sticker from upstairs and they double check baby is in seat, I presumed all mat units were like this

frenetic I am so angry on your behalf! They are really idiotic to put in the letter about mental health. Having an ELCS is actually a legitimate reason to have an ELCS. My friend was booked in for one and I was told due to PTSD and PND after having ds I was able to have a ELCS on MH grounds! Total knob jockeys!

tonightsthekindofnight · 11/12/2014 19:47

Thanks memphis, and good to hear you feel well supported by your mw and hv. Because I am consultant led I have never seen the same professional twice despite having appts every two weeks following a scan. The lack of continuity has meant no one has mentioned my diagnosis since the booking in Session! I've not brought it up because I have really good care from my own psychiatrist and CPN. The annoying thing is the midwife today was adamant the plan has to come from the perinatal psychiatrist not my own team who know me.

The news of Charlotte Bevans death has really shaken me to be honest. I know I am at huge risk of psychosis but I wasn't really scared of it until now. If I were to go into labour now, which with twins is a possibility, there is nothing in my notes at all to say what should happen/what drugs I need.

Memphisbelly · 11/12/2014 19:59

Tonights yes now we are rural I only have 2 mw and 2 hv but last time it was pretty horrid. Hopfully now you will hear something but if you dont in the next week chase it up.

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 12/12/2014 09:06

Sorry for all my moaning yesterday, I had a complete meltdown day. I think DH is now worried I'm heading for antenatal depression like last time.

Sand glad things are looking OK with baby and that they are doing MRI to be doubly sure.

jack I'm glad you got your c section sorted. Bet it feels like a relief. Do you feel strange knowing a birth date before the birth? I'm getting my date when I go to my 6th Jan appointment and I'm finding it really weird that I'm going to know birth date in advance.

donkir · 12/12/2014 09:22

Why this is why we're all here. Feel free to moan as much as you like.

We all have down days. I know I have and I haven't even got that much to complain about other than the odd niggle. Your doing amazingly with everything your body is putting you through. Thanks

I've got a really long day today. Started work at 8.30 and won't finish until about 11pm. Good news is this is my penultimate Friday at work then I get to go back to my normal 4 day week until maternity leave.

Grinningcat · 12/12/2014 09:41

Its the end of what I hope will be the last 5 full day week I work in a good long while. Thank goodness. They are such a struggle now. Only 6 working weeks (not counting Christmas) and then a full year "off". Smile

BanglesSpangles · 12/12/2014 09:47

Flowers why- Everyone needs a meltdown from time to time, and it sounds like you had very good reason to!

Really can't be bothered to be at work today- bed was just so warm and cosy! 27 days in the office to go and counting!

JacktheLab · 12/12/2014 10:14

I agree with the others why, it's part of the point of this group, we are all going through similar versions of the same thing, so can sympathise:)

I am sort of happy to have my section date, appeals to the control freak in me, ready to get this baby out now I think. I'm still being very cagey with everyone about when I'm due, although we need to tell my fil as he's offered to look after my ds whilst we are in hospital

I only have next week left in work, I cannot see me doing much work now!

freneticfox · 12/12/2014 10:47

WhyO - please don't apologise for moaning, in fact, have a daily rant here if it helps. Bottling things up can be so dangerous. hugs

I have my Whooping Cough jab today. Bit nervous based on some people's horror stories. But I've already got a cold, so meh. May as well get it over with!

donkir · 12/12/2014 11:07

Frenetic I didn't find my whooping jab too bad it hurt a lot less than the flu before and after. The only issue was it bruised unlike the flu.

PeppermintInfusion · 12/12/2014 11:37

.

freneticfox · 12/12/2014 11:56

The jab itself didn't hurt, but I feel a little woozy. I think that's anxiety though tbh. The nurse took my temp and said it's fine to have it. But she didn't tell me until AFTER - "You might get a bit unwell because you're run down, so just get home and rest".

Well, shucks. Couldn't have told me that first?

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 12/12/2014 12:54

Thanks for sympathy guys.

Donkir That is a long day. Hope it goes ok for you.

Does anyone know if you can you get whooping cough vaccine done anywhere other than the drs surgery? I still haven't got mine because they won't let me have an appointment that DH can take me to - so I can't get there.

BanglesSpangles · 12/12/2014 13:36

oh my goodness- so relieved- my sister in law is pregnant and went for her 20 week scan last week, where they found an anomaly with the baby's brain- Two more scans and a week of waiting later, they've just been told everything is ok.

I'm so relieved for her- my heart's been in my mouth for the last week!

OP posts:
sandulacek · 12/12/2014 13:58

whyO they have daily clinics in my hospital in the women's health dept where they do flu jabs but also the Whooping cough so maybe see if they do same in yours by giving them a ring? Your mw should probably know too. I wanted to have mine yesterday but they were shut that one day...typical. off to ring my gp to see if they can fit me in when I want...

Bangles glad it's a good news for your sil!

jenmcspen · 12/12/2014 15:39

Glad to hear you have both had good news sand and bangles seems like there is so much to worry about!

Mimosa1 · 12/12/2014 15:52

HI everyone,
Just emerging from 5 days of a horrible cold. Will go back and catch up on the posts after this. Hope everyone is well! We've had some disappointing news on the home move front. We won't move until after Xmas, which is going to make hosting a real pain, although I am cheating this year, and getting it all frozen and ready to put in the oven. Wouldn't normally, but I will be 35 weeks preggers over Xmas, so sod it! Grin

JacktheLab · 12/12/2014 18:50

Oh god the heart burn :(

This child better have a full head of hair!!!

PeppermintInfusion · 12/12/2014 19:35

Jack my heartburn has returned with a vengeance too!

Memphisbelly · 12/12/2014 22:09

WhyO could you explain spto surgery that you are unable to get in to surgery and ask if a community nurse can come out to give it you! My grandad has one come out for a flu jab yearly.

Jack I had shocking heartburn and the baldest baby eve, been to see my friend today with her 8 week old I will put a photo on fb he has more hair than me....she had no heartburn!

Had a long day went to see a friend then on to a supplier near her to do final year bill friends dh gave me a posh bottle of red for once baby comes and the supplier gave me biscuits, chocs and 2 bottle of wine for xmas! Thrn got stuck in traffic and walked in 5 mins before inlaws were coming for tea.
Baby has not stopped moving all day, I actually dont think he has slept at all! Got dh to hold bump as he wont move for dh much just to give me a break Grin
