Happy New Year to everyone. What a year we all have to look forward too! Having a quiet one at home this year so sat on the sofa with DH with a celebratory half glass of the Earl Grey Tea wine we brought back from Sark in May. Might have some leftover Xmas pudding in a mo. Talk about pushing the boat out Grin.

Ordered the perfect prep online today and also went shopping in Toysrus and primary today. Picked up two grobags, cot sheets, a thermometer, and some lansinoh, all in the sale. Also got a nightie, a larger pair of pj bottoms and a couple of tops, and some flannels. Feeling pretty well there now. Just need to pick up the cot mattress from mothercare on the 10th and get a chest of drawers to put everything. Mind you still need to finish painting the nursery, put up the single bed and cot etc, but at least we now have everything - it's just in a big pile in the room. God help DH if I go into labour early!

Grinningcat · 31/12/2014 22:37

Primark not primary!

GeekyHybrid · 31/12/2014 23:34

Happy New Year everyone!

We're having a quiet one here too, I dozed through Graham Norton and OH has woken me up for Queen Smile Hot ribena is my official cure all drink, not only great for colds but soothes the effects of indigestion!

Memphisbelly · 31/12/2014 23:52

Grinning that is a good days shopping!

Geeky I love hot ribena....I now plan on sending dh out firdt thing for some Grin

I have just come to bed my legs are all jumpy and painful forgot how big I am and scratched my belly again!

Sat snd sorted baby stuff into piles picking hospital stuff, tomorrow will put them in drawers so if I do end up having to stay in hospital dh will know where it all us.....its all so tiny!

Honeybird · 01/01/2015 00:17

Happy New Year ladies! Should be an exciting one.

Less excitingly, my sciatica is back...

Honeybird · 01/01/2015 00:20

I never really do New Years resolutions, but here's a nice achievable one I should really do asap, pack my hospital bag, which it sounds like most of you are way ahead of me on.

Memphisbelly · 01/01/2015 00:31

Honey I don't normally but at least hospital bag is achievable Grin

Mine are
Have a baby
Lose a bit of weight (weight of baby at least Grin)
Learn to download music (seriously have no idea but if my dad can do it surely I can)

blankfornames · 01/01/2015 09:18

HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL! Let's have some babies 'next month'!!!! Shock

JacktheLab · 01/01/2015 09:19

Morning all,

hope you all had a good new year's whatever you got up to, we watched tv and ate terrible food until the bells then bedtime :)

I've been chucking stuff in the general direction of the cot in the last couple of months, think I have everything I should need for the baby, clothes, nappies, some ready made milk just in case, I shall pack my bits the day before hospital, DH sort of knows what things he might need to grab in an emergency so we shall muddle through!

Hope everyone has a lovely day today, it's raining here, so we might just potter around at home

Memphisbelly · 01/01/2015 09:35

blank....a few will be 'this month' Shock

jack at least you know the date you will go in and leaving it until day before means you will have something to keep you busy

PeppermintInfusion · 01/01/2015 09:41

Happy new year everyone! I never made the bells anyway, as we went out for curry earlier in the evening with my parents and the big meal finished me off.

Just need to get my hospital bag sorted next!

LittleMissSunshine33 · 01/01/2015 09:45

Happy New Years Everyone!

I did well last night I went to a party and lasted til 1:30! Little aching bump though but impressed myself!

Eeek 2015 the year our babies will be born! I can't wait to start seeing posts announcing births! Shock

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 01/01/2015 10:03

Happy new year everyone.

We had a quite one, watched the fireworks on TV - they were very boring and repetitive weren't they, they really need some new ideas for next year.

Bangonthedoor · 01/01/2015 10:20

Morning all Smile

Baby season is upon us!!

It's normal isn't it to start losing mucus plug from about now?! This morning I found a big lump of it (sorry tmi) about the size of a pound coin Confused

Memphisbelly · 01/01/2015 10:24

Bang yes totally normal, I lost a lot of mine ages before with ds...this time nothing yet.
House is soauiet dh has taken ds out on thr motorbike so im back in bed chilling out!

Bangonthedoor · 01/01/2015 10:26

Ah lovely enjoy your rest memphis

I thought so, it's just I only lost a little bit with DD just before I was due so thought I'd check!

sandulacek · 01/01/2015 12:08

Happy new year everyone!

As almost everyone had a quiet one too as we bailed out of a party thanks to my cold. Managed to see the whole series of Broadchurch interrupted only by Indian, chocolate biscuits and fireworks on the telly Smile. Lasted till 1.30!

honey I like your NY resolution I'm joining in. As well as solving this bottles conundrum!

BanglesSpangles · 01/01/2015 15:02

Happy new year everyone!
We went to a friends house for drinks, but was fairly low key- still managed to last until half 2 though - i wasnt tired but my back was seizing up and i knew if i left it any longer, I'd struggle to drive home!

Today have been to see various rellies, and picked up a LOAD of baby stuff from my sister. Time for a chill now!

New years resolutions-wise, im breaking with my normal tradition of attempting to fix my life and going for the simple one of...
Have baby. That'll do!

Happy New Year, all!

I have no resolutions, just "hey, try not to completely lose the plot while learning how to be a parent!"

I'm not sure what happened over the past 24 hours, but I've got an awful sharp pain in my pubic bone when I stand up and move around. It's fine when I'm sat down or lying. Is this PGP/SPD taking it up a level?

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 01/01/2015 16:02

Frenetic yep that's SPD pain - its the ligaments holding the pubic bones together being pulled on too much - putting a support belt on should help pull the bones back together a bit and relieve some of the pain. For me that pain can get really bad at times and feel like someone has stuck a knife in and is trying to prise it apart, at best its like a sharpish ache.

freneticfox · 01/01/2015 16:33

Ach, I had a sneaking feeling it was natural progression. It's agony at the moment, thinking of asking MW for crutches, I'm walking like an extremely elderly woman, while clutching my bits (seriously feels like the whole area is SO unstable).

Sharpish ache is exactly right. Worsens when I'm upright.

Ticktick · 01/01/2015 16:38

Happy new year ladies!

Sorry to post such a tmi question but I'd love to know how you lovely ladies are tackling the personal grooming issue with such obstructive bumps! I've just had such an awkward time trying to tidy up the lady garden region. The area had been neglected so I wanted to tackle it today but had no idea how awkward and almost impossible it would be! How on earth do you manage!?!?!? I've never had a bikini wax but feel like this might be the only solution from now on, eeek!

longbottom · 01/01/2015 17:24

Tick, I'm still shaving, bump is quite big, but I'm doing it all by touch, can't see it. It probably looks awful down there but at least I've tried!!
Had a quiet new year, had a curry and rented x-men.
I also plan to pack hospital bag, by end of January. Can't believe baby is due next month!
It's my birthday tomorrow, the big 32! DD is excited, I would rather forget it!

BanglesSpangles · 01/01/2015 18:00

tick im also taking the 'at least ive tried' approach to shaving- it may look fine, it likely looks a bit mad, but im blissfully ignorant!

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 01/01/2015 18:07

Tick I've just let the garden grow, so to speak Grin - haven't been able to open my legs enough to trim properly for rather a while. Its a jungle down there!!!
