Happy Birthday Frenetic! Hope you have a wonderful day and are spoiled rotten!

Good news is that I was finally discharged from hospital yday. I have been told not to do a thing for 6 weeks and that it'll take 3 months till i start feeling normal again...not hugely happy about that! I'm mildly concerned by the fact that I've taken so much medication and antibiotics over the past week. I'm also on an oral one now for a week. I know that a maternity hospital has been dishing them out to me just can't help feel that they are doing baby no good. Although baba seems totally unaffected, in it's own little world!

Hope everyone's staying nice and warm...it's freezin outside!!

Happy Birthday Frenetic have a lovely lazy day being spoilt!

Yay Blank! Great news before the new year begins! Hope you can rest up time will fly by!

Who has any remedies for restless legs at night? Had it really bad last night!

Bangonthedoor · 29/12/2014 10:19

Happy birthday frenetic! Thanks

BanglesSpangles · 29/12/2014 11:11

Morning all
Great news, blank- im sure the anti b's were and are totally necessary, and like you say, bubs is exceedingly well protected!

Have a fab birthday, frenetic- hope youre being suitably spoiled

Bum pain has gone down a bit but two days of lying on the sofa has left the rest of me so sore! Props to you ladies whove done bed rest! Trying alternating between lying down and hobbling about to loosen up again

Morning all and belated happy christmas!
Blank, woohoo on getting out of hospital :-)
Memphis, are we due date twins? Mine is Jan 29t. Starting to feel very soon now!
DH and I have finally found somewhere to move. We vacate out current flat on Friday. I'm so excited - I was desperate to move before the baby comes. Donkir, am I right that you were moving to a new place too?

Is anyone planning to make a batch of freezer meals ahead of the baby's arrival? I'm planning to start cooking after the move, and would love to hear anyone's recipes or ideas! So far, I'm thinking frozen pizzas and lasagna.

Mimosa1 · 29/12/2014 12:32

and happy bday frenetic!

Bangonthedoor · 29/12/2014 13:30

mimosa I'm going to buy lots of meals from Cook. My sister works for them and gets good discount so I'll be able to get a good week or 2 worth of meals. Have a look at their website Smile although home cooked meals you cook yourself will be just as nice, I'm just lazy!

Mimosa1 · 29/12/2014 15:35

Bang, I LOVE Cook. I got my whole Xmas dinner from there this year and it was amazing!!! Absolutely delicious and no trouble at all. The only thing is that the meals can be a little pricey but it's fab you get a discount - lucky you, enjoy it!!!

donkir · 29/12/2014 15:59

Well midwife went well I'm measuring exact to dates so all those ppl who've said I'm massive can stick it up their bum!
Next app should be at 36 weeks but just worked it out and I'll be 37+1.
Struggled to sleep last night think jelly bean had a foot stuck under a rib and I couldn't shift him. Looks like he's head down now. Hopefully he stays that way.
Yes fingers crossed I'm moving mid feb just waiting for electric checks to be done.
As much as I'm enjoying this time off over the hols I'm shattered sitting around not doing much. The last 2 days I've took myself fora nap. Not sure how I'll cope back at work next week. The midwife was shocked I'd still be working at 36 weeks.

donkir · 29/12/2014 16:01

I intend to make the most of my slow cooker and my 12yr old ds who's a dab hand in the kitchen once baby is here. Our freezer isn't big enough to freeze batch cooked food. In the new house we'll have an extra freezer though and I can't wait.

GeekyHybrid · 29/12/2014 16:19

Happy birthday frenetic, hope you're having a great day Thanks
Glad you're home blank, our beans are well protected in their little cacoons and I'm sure yours will of been oblivious to all the drama. Rest up whilst we can, not long until we'll have actual little people to care for!

I'm still visiting at my mom's, just about to commence catering duty, again. Her best mate & hubby are coming for dinner, should be a laugh as she's totally mad. And Irish. Other than planning and shopping for meals we haven't been doing a lot because of the snow, that stranded coach on boxing day was just around the corner Confused The side roads are still lethal and the pavements not much better. Hope everyone else is getting chance to relax.

Memphisbelly · 29/12/2014 16:26

Mim no I am due 27th. Jack is having a section a few days before my duedate so we will have at least one baby here on the thread by then.
I want to batch cook but unsure if I can be bothered Grin

Just been in B and Q and was getting pains again, baby clearly doesnt like walking around shops as once im in car I am ok again. Feel totally wiped out today it is very odd.
Bought some glucose tablets and cereal bars for my hospital bag, cannot face buying big pants though they look awful. Confused

BanglesSpangles · 29/12/2014 16:50

Had a brief walk around the shops- im now the proud possessor of an extremely unflattering navy blue nightie- my first bit of labourwear! And a much cooler robot lamp for the baby :D

The extent of my post Christmas shopping includes breast and maternity pads - figured at some point I had to bite the bullet and consider buying some - defo not the most exciting shopping trip ever!

freneticfox · 29/12/2014 18:24

Thank you for the birthday wishes girls! Have had a quiet day - DH took me out for lunch which was lovely. Got just the one card, totally normal for a festive season birthday so used to that ;) Apart from my Mum, haven't heard from any family (who've funnily enough been nagging to see little one when he's born, suggesting names at every opportunity etc.)

Meh, I don't feel 30 that's for sure :p

34w MW appointment tomorrow, hoping all will be on track :)

Memphisbelly · 29/12/2014 18:56

Frenetic apart from my folks and my grandad none of my family bother with my birthday (at end of january) dh's family put them to shame and even his auntswho we never see get me a card! As long as your dh made a fuss thats all that matters Wink

And regarding people in family suggesting names we may have a name (although I am holding out for another one if dh breaks in next few weeks) I am sick to the back teeth of family and friends saying names when I say we don't have a shortlist....these range from Davin, Malachi, Jude, Archibold....and it goes on....there are some real shockers that have been said! It isn't a lack of names its finding a name that dh with his boring list and me with my wacky list can agree on!

Just turned my phone on and I had a voicemail from the hv she sounded quite stressed then realised I had 3 others on there that I didn't know about from her. Must be to do a pre birth meeting. Will have to tell her when I speak to her not to leave voicemails as I dont listen to them Grin

JacktheLab · 29/12/2014 19:29

Hello!

Reporting in, been trying to get the house back to some state of tidiness, apparently I'm told it's super organised nesting!

Mim, I have my csection booked for 29th January, about 32 days to go? I'm a bit fed up of being pregnant now, very much just want the baby out!

Xmas was grand, we took a car boot full of cardboard to recycling today and planning to take the tree down tomorrow and get the living room back to normal :)

Frenetic, I hope you had a nice time on your birthday, so long as your DH made a fuss that's the thing :) ds was born two days before my birthday, so it's been a non event for three years now, but my DH always tries to make a fuss of me :)

Trying to entertain my ds this week, we took him for a swim today and walk round town to burn off excess energy, it's been very exciting month for him!

purpleteapig · 29/12/2014 20:06

Hi, hope everyone had a lovely Xmas. Next celebration is NYE! Is anyone doing anything remotely exciting? I think mine will consist of putting on a film to watch with my husband and then promptly falling asleep at 9pm. Ah well, next year eh.
Went to buy some baby stuff at mothercare today as was getting a bit panicky about how little we've bought. Amazing how much you forget from last time - we were looking at bottles trying to remember the sizes and flows for ages...

Memphisbelly · 29/12/2014 21:49

purple I don't ever do NYE weirdly neither do any of our friends.
I totally agree about forgetting stuff from first time round. I am worrying about what the hell to do once baby arrives the feeding, winding and how to hold, dress and wash him....oh and prepping bottles guidelines have changed since ds. bought the perfect prep machine but you dont use it for first month or so as it only starts at 4 ounce

Bangonthedoor · 29/12/2014 22:24

frenetic pleased to hear you've had a nice birthday!

jack can you believe you're going to have your baby in 32 days?! Crazy stuff Smile

I don't do New Years either...just another night to me so I'll look forward to going to bed normal time and waking up on just another morning. Even non pregnant im not fussed about it.

I'm also worrying about forgetting everything from first time round. Especially things like feeding and warming bottles etc. A very random thought came to me about half an hour ago...is it ok to spray deodorant in the room when your baby is also in the room?! But seriously what is the answer?! Just thinking about when DP gets ready for work in the mornings and baby is in the Moses basket.

Memphisbelly · 29/12/2014 22:37

Bangon I wouldn't but dh used a stick and puts it on in bathroom so it isn't something I have ever thought about before

purpleteapig · 29/12/2014 22:54

What's a prepping machine Memphis? Is that to do with sterilising? Something else I don't know!

Prob best not to Bang - it's quite cloying for us breathing it in, so not for little lungs. You'll have to move his sprays to the bathroom :)

Viperama · 29/12/2014 22:56

Frentic happy birthday!

And happy birthday for tomorrow Things and Donkir

Flowers Cake

Bangonthedoor · 29/12/2014 22:57

Thanks both! I'll have to move them in to the bathroom then Smile honestly couldnt remember what we did when DD was very tiny!

Viperama · 29/12/2014 23:03

Littlemiss I read bananas help 'crazy legs' as I've called them, I've been getting them for years, usually when I'm overtired, or inactive. Found bananas online last month and it seemed to of worked. Either that or I do 150 bicycle rotations with my legs in the air. Failing that...orgasm helps me, I think chemicals released after are calming. Just don't do all at same time lol
