Aah good point for viper- my nose (which the girls of my family have) has most definitely shown up on the scan for my boy!

Am going on what i very sincerely hope will be my last Christmas shopping trip tonight. Think i will have to treat myself to a celebratory burrito while I'm there. Once the shopping is completed, obv

Hello ladies. Saw my diabetes mw and dietician today who both seemed daily happy with me. Probably won't be making it to due date though, depending on how the meds take with me. Have lost 2kg this week though. Bump measures 30cm and I'm 30 weeks on Sat.
It's my 30th tomorrow!!!! Apparently OH is taking me for dinner in St Albans but will still have to be careful about over indulging. Work are being nice and getting me vouchers rather than a cake and flowers (esp as they would die whilst I'm at mum's for xmas).
As for names, OH is bobbins and won't really deliberate over different ones. He likes our first choice and won't budge! Ha ha. So if she is the girl we were told we were having she will be Penelope Jane (the Jane is my middle name and my dad really wanted that as it was his choice for me and it works and we love it.).

LittleMissSunshine33 · 18/12/2014 19:39

It's my birthday tomorrow too! 31! last day of work for Christmas! Going out for a meal very different from my birthday last year!

Love everyone's names me and OH can't agree he likes American style names where I prefer traditional Shock

LancashireTea · 18/12/2014 20:47

Yay! Birthday twins! (Albeit 12 months apart!)

Memphisbelly · 18/12/2014 21:05

Getting pains again, had a bath and they are quite bad...but the look on dh's face is priceless he looks all concerned thinking we wont be hosting xmas this year at this rate, if I wasn't doubled over in pain I would laugh my socks off at his worried face.

Just got the steriliser out the loft now we have everything out just need to wash it all now.

thingsarelookingup · 18/12/2014 21:17

We are birthday buddies donkir! But I will be 35 this year. I don't have any plans yet. Probably just take it easy I think.

Glad you are back Amy. Your ex is clearly a strange one. Definitely a good idea to leave him well in the past.

My current fave name is Ella rose. Loving all the name talk. Makes me realise it really isn't long to go now.

PeppermintInfusion · 18/12/2014 21:39

Happy birthday ladiesThanks

Honeybird · 18/12/2014 22:33

Will have to try out señor ceviche sometime thank you!

Haven't heard a name I don't like yet! Ella rose and Penelope Jane are lovely. I do find it easier to get excited about girls names than boys names. Funny about all the Sidneys, would never have come up with it myself but I like it.

Happy birthday all!

Viperama · 18/12/2014 23:30

Gosh a girl with those lips is frightening to think about, she'll be too pretty!

We've had our names a while, since TTC, sad I know! Isabella or Giorgio

Viperama · 18/12/2014 23:33

It was my birthday on Tuesday, not as young as you spring chickens though, turned 39.

Happy birthday to all!

HelKat207 · 19/12/2014 00:32

Hello ladies Xmas Smile

Had my first steriod injection this morning and boy did it sting!!! Don't wanna go back tomorrow for the second! I'm such a baby when it comes to niggly little pains like that!!!!
I think i've got carpel tunnel syndrome now too which is more irritating than anything!!!! Constant pins and needles in my wrists and hands?! Keep thinking someone is grabbing my wrists tight, such an odd sensation. Not to mention the bloody rib pain! I am so so looking forward to February!!!!

Anyways! I think we've chosen our names, Sienna Elizabeth (Elizabeth after my best friend/grandmother who passed away almost a year ago) and Amelie Rose (Rose after my mum, she's still very much alive but i have always loved Rose as a middle name!!)

I love Sidney!!! I like it for a girl too actually, spelt Sydney, also Sophia/Sofia was on my list too! I find girls names are so much easier to choose, i'm glad i'm not having another set of boy twins! My five year olds are Hayden Lewis and Oliver Parker (their dad chose Parker, i hated it at the time but it's a grower!)

x

donkir · 19/12/2014 07:18

Helkat I'm normally ok with injections but my goodness did the steroid injections hurt. Hate to say it the 2nd one hurts more as you tense up.

BanglesSpangles · 19/12/2014 08:04

Morning all and happy birthday to the december ladies

Christmas shopping DONE. Just need to send out reciprocal cards to the people that sent them to me yesterday (bah!) and wrap presents and I think I might be ready for some festive baking

31 weeks MW app and whooping cough combo for me today, followed by a site visit to Manchester (double bah!) and I'm really hoping I might come home to a working toilet and a water supply in somewhere other than the kitchen

Happy friday, nearly christmas!!

thingsarelookingup · 19/12/2014 08:06

Sienna Elizabeth and Amelie rose are lovely names!

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 19/12/2014 09:15

Amelie rose is an absolutely beautiful name.

I must admit I keep going back to wondering if I could get away with rose, rosie or Elizabeth as a middle name, even though they don't work with our surname (I'd say, 95% of girls names are wrong with our surname). I've had no wobbles over our choice of first name though - Alice.

lawyeredout82 · 19/12/2014 09:20

Loving all the name chat!

DH and I are struggling to decide but on the shortlist are Olivia, Louisa, Emma and Isla, middle name will be Grace (just because we like it!).

Haven't told anyone for fear of being influenced!

We're worried Olivia is too popular, I'm not keen on "Lou" as a shortening of Louisa, Emma is lovely but also the name of my best friend and can't really be shortened as a child and Isla is very "of the moment". Such a big responsibility naming someone forever!!

freneticfox · 19/12/2014 09:25

Catching up, rough week so have been a bit on the reclusive side.

Just realise that we've got people turning 30, 31, 32, and 33! (I'm 30 on the 29th of this month). I've had a rubbish time in my 20s so I'm actually really looking forward to waddling into a new decade.

Generally all ok here, still got a cold that won't bugger off.

Ah, names. We have a tiny shortlist, but are really guarded about it since we know a few people that can be so nit-picky. Ironically when we first found out I was pregnant we were so sure we have a boys name, but no idea on girls. Now we know we have a boy, we're going between a few but are now dead set on a girls name if we do go on to have one!

hanflan · 19/12/2014 09:27

Happy Birthday to lancashire and littlemiss! Flowers

BanglesSpangles · 19/12/2014 09:41

Meep- measuring small, do not pass go, proceed straight to hospital for further assessment... Looks like I'm not going to Manchester today!

Memphisbelly · 19/12/2014 09:55

Bangles oh no....you are destined to not grt your christmas shopping finished! Hope all is ok keep us posted.

Frenetic your 30's will be an amazing fresh start for you!

So just got back from the gp he was so lovely, he did more bloods tried to chase up yesterdays urine tests, did blood sugards, felt and listened to baby. Listened to me moan and have a cry and say ease don't send me to hospital they just monitor the baby when he is fine. He said I am doing way too much and he knows realisitcally bed rest won't be feasable but wants me to go and lie on bed in the quiet a few times a day and make sure I am eating well including lots of carbs to keep keytones at bay and to let people look after me, he also said those pains yesterday were baby engaging as he was on the edge at mw and now I am officially 1/5th engaged Shock

Ds's last day at school so myself and my best friend are going to the cinema to watch thr new Dumb and Dumber, we went as kids to watch thr first and now certain silly films have become our tradition

hanflan · 19/12/2014 10:07

frenetic I still think you should go with that boys name you mentioned beginning with D ;) It is the most AMAZING name. Go for it! Ahhh eight more weeks to go and I'm feeling so uncomfortable. Not sleeping, bad PGP, back pain, squashed lungs... something tells me this is going to drag now. ARGHHHH.

jenmcspen · 19/12/2014 10:19

bangles are they sending you for a growth scan? My bump was measuring 3 weeks behind (still is actually) and at the growth scan baby was right on the 50th percentile Smile
Hopefully will be the same for you. All this bump measuring seems very inaccurate as I had 3 different measurements in 24 hours!

Memphisbelly · 19/12/2014 10:26

Jen I do think every mw measures differently. i got measured and a scan on Monday bang on 50th centile (apart from his huge head) then yesterday they said I was 2.5 weeks behind!

Hanflan yes to thinking it will drag now, I am hoping xmas being next week then a week of celebrations, then the xmas tidy up will distract us all from the finall slog Grin

Forgot to say as well I have an outie belly button (which is an existing hernia since birth) and then last night I got out of bed and it appeared I had an extra outie above it where I had keyhole surgery while pg last time so doc said I now have 2 hernias very freaky Grin he said it should all go back to normal once baby is here and I do sit ups or something

hanflan · 19/12/2014 10:37

memphis that's what I'm hoping too! Christmas and New Year will fly by in a haze of twiglets and mince pies, then I finish work not long after that. Then I can just sit and knit baby things for a few weeks, which I'll be fine with I'm sure Grin. I think it's mainly the long commute and walk to work which is killing me at the moment! Once I'm sat on my arse for a while I'm a happy bunny haha

hanflan · 19/12/2014 10:38

bangles seems like there are a few of us measuring either small or large! I got in a flap about it but have now realised it's all a load of tosh mostly and they can be wildly inaccurate. Will stay calm until I am told otherwise :D
