Grinning I adore Isaac but I have a very good friend with an Isaac. Also a lovely touch as a middle name to have your sisters. Its nice for her but also your parents as they would have liked it enough to pick it for her.

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 18/12/2014 10:02

Grinning Elizabeth and isobel / isobella were names me an DH loved but Elizabeth didn't work with our surname and isobella, alongside DS's name made it sound like we were naming our children from the twilight books/films! We also couldn't use Rose or Rosie because of our surname (our surname clashes with lots of names).

We've gone for Alice Jessica.

jenmcspen · 18/12/2014 10:07

My OH is convinced we are having a boy and really loves the name Zachary. I do really like it, just not 100% that it is THE name until we meet baby.
Plus baby may still be a girl! Lol!

Grinningcat · 18/12/2014 10:15

lol to the twilight references.

I like Alice, but I have a friend and a colleague called that already. I also really like the shortening Zac, but not Zachary, so I was thinking we could maybe get away with using it as a shortening for Isaac?

We have to avoid names ending in 'an' because of our surname. However that has meant that DH has never had to give his actual opinion on one of my never to be favourite names Morgan Grin.

Honeybird · 18/12/2014 10:32

We're going for Tabitha Sara. Sara is dh's grandmother who died soon after we met. My grandmother died very recently and her name was Ida Helen. I'm under some pressure from my dad to use one of those names, but the problem is my granny didn't like her first name, Ida, and much preferred her middle name Helen, which I really don't. Granny knew I was pregnant but died before my 20 week scan so didn't know it was a girl... In fact she told me she thought it would be a boy. She was such a sweet lady and so down to earth and practical, she would have laughed about the whole thing. I don't need to use her name to remember her.
Keep the name ideas coming, love hearing them! I swing between thinking tabitha is too conceited to thinking it is too hippy to loving it... But it took us so long to find any name we could remotely agree on that there's no going back now!

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 18/12/2014 10:42

Honey I did feel like we should have used at least part of my nans name since my DS accidentally ended up with my grandads full name (I didn't know until I told mom what we'd chosen) but her first name is a very old fashioned, never came back into fashion one and I've never liked her middle name. You're right though we don't need to use a name to honour or remember her, she was too lovely to ever forget.

purpleteapig · 18/12/2014 11:35

Honey - I love the name Tabitha. So unusual and pretty!

If ours had been a girl, we would have used my mum's name as a middle name, but as it's a boy we're pretty stuck at the moment (thanks to husband's super pickiness!)...I'm just hoping he'll relent on some of my favourites nearer the time.

PeppermintInfusion · 18/12/2014 12:52

The front runner is spencer at the minute, we'd rules it out previously as our surname ends in -er though I think it actually works ok. I quite like surnames as first names, though my only concern is that people might think we named him after Made in Chelsea Grin
We're also considering Sidney as well then the rest are mainly classic names.

I'm feeling a LOT of pressure in my pelvis, like he is bearing down especially when I'm standing.

BanglesSpangles · 18/12/2014 13:09

haha- I'm sensing Sidney's going to suddenly be popular in 2015 then! One of those names where literally nobody's called it and all of a sudden there'll be 15 in one school year

I kinda wanted a middle name of James, after my dad, but well, Sid James just isn't going to work, is it!! So it'll be Sidney John, after DH's grandad... may try and sneak James in as a second middle name if I'm feeling particularly nostalgic

Honey- I love Tabitha

trukevoli · 18/12/2014 13:17

I thought I would get in with the names as we have recently agreed that there is a boys name we both like which is Lochlan. And we have had a girls name of Elowyn picked for ages. Middle names will be Michael (my dad) or Joan (both of our grandmothers). however until the baby is here we don't know what they will be called.

chances are I will meet the baby and change my mind anyway.....I did when I met my cat he went from Tarquin to Thomas and he is definitely a Thomas.

I love the name Tabitha but wasn't allower it as it was my Dps old cats name. also love the name Sidney, hadn't considered that.

Viperama · 18/12/2014 13:21

Glad you're back and okay Amy, big wave to little Oscar.

Had a growth scan for GD yesterday, all normal. Mil and DP came. I'd to go to the loo as my bladder was too full and while gone mil tried to get DP to ask sex, too funny, she was hysterical. He did not relent and enjoyed ratting her out after lol. BUT we now have photographic evidence of the HUGE lips I saw at 12 and 20 week, they had a little indent in the middle just like DPs bottom lip.

So I am now even more convinced it's a boy. All facial structure looks like MIL's side, in a way I am so glad as my mothers side are so flipping vain it's embarrassing and they've been banging on how it'll be such a beautiful girl blah blah blah...who cares!!!??? Baby will hopefully be happy, kind, intelligent, and fun with our guidance and that's all I care about.

Sorry for me post!

Memphisbelly · 18/12/2014 13:51

Bangles yes Sidney and Stanley are set to rocket in 2015 apparently (cannot remember where I read it)

Mw was ok I am showing keytones as high as the pee stick will show (even though I had eaten) and protein still, that with not feelng myself and being under the westher she wants a gp to see me asap they have me in first thing, I had a total meltdown asxmw agrees she feels something is going on but not sure what and I said I agreed but I predicted they will see me and send me to MAU for monitoring but thats just for baby not my well being so I said they will be wasting my time. She also said she thinks I have intermal varacous(sp?) veins in my fanjo probably caused by my fall

BanglesSpangles · 18/12/2014 13:55

Memphis- balls. I just KNEW that was going to happen!!

Fanjo varicose veins sound pretty horrific- will they go down once the baby's here?

Forgot to do this yesterday but here's the link to the spreadsheet- there may be one or two of the newer peeps that I've not added in, or information that needs updating- Feel free to do the necessary, all:

I have no idea I just want the baby out now.

Regarding names being popular Reuben was suppost to be very popular but we know none so it depends where you live I think

JacktheLab · 18/12/2014 14:12

Afternoon all, I'm still not telling but none of you seem to have mentioned our name, which I'm pleased about :)

I jumped at work a couple of days ago after I got a good old kick to the ribs - ouch!

Welcome back Amy, hope your ex doesn't get hold of your phone again! Strange man!

Sorry to everyone who has to work after xmas, I'm stopping tomorrow, cannot wait!

hanflan · 18/12/2014 14:49

Hi all! Loving the name chat. Sidney is an awesome name, best to get in there quick before it becomes mega popular!
We currently have a shortlist and will probably decide once we actually meet our little one. Currently in order of preference it's Imogen, Lily, and Sophia! Thoughts? I know they are all pretty popular but oh well :D

hanflan · 18/12/2014 15:02

Oh also I have been referred for a growth scan on Tuesday as I am currently 31+6 and midwife measured me at 37cm! Yikes! Up until this point I have been measuring bang on target so not sure what's going on. At least we get another peek at our little Pickle before we meet her for real!

PeppermintInfusion · 18/12/2014 15:29

Hanflan that happened to me a few weeks back with the community mw, asked to speak to a dr the next time I was at the hospital mw and she did a quick scan and measured it slightly below average. Then when I got my 4d scan he was right on the line.
Apparently the bump measuring can be wildly inaccurate.

hanflan · 18/12/2014 15:37

That's what I have been told, so not getting too concerned yet. DH is very tall though so she might just been a long and skinny one, who knows!

BanglesSpangles · 18/12/2014 15:44

han- I like all of them... I think Lily is most popular of the three but its so pretty, I wouldn't want to strike it off the list either!!

Don't a few of us have birthday's around this time of year? What is everyone doing? Mine is on sunday and I plan on doing as little as possible and having as much time to myself as I can as I'm guessing I won't be able to for a good few years to come!

We have our 3d/4d scan on Saturday with Dad and PIL with a pub lunch afterwards. Can't wait.

hanflan · 18/12/2014 16:18

Awww grinning the scan sounds like a great birthday treat! My birthday is a few days after due date.... it's my 30th as well. Not sure I'll be doing much to be honest Grin

Memphisbelly · 18/12/2014 16:21

My 32nd is 3 days after due date, I went and ordered myself a necklace for someone to buy me....I took my mum so that may be what she gets so at least I have something nice that I can wear even if I am still looking like a weeble Grin dh is giving me money to buy new wardrobe once baby is here. If baby is here I am going out to get drunk if he isn't it will be a stonking curry Grin

donkir · 18/12/2014 17:12

I'm 33 on the 30th of this month.

Pepper my ds Middle name is spencer as it was my mums maiden name.

Han Sophia was top of my list for a girl but we'd have spelt it Sofia.

At the moment our name is Logan Alexander surname. I'm still unsure of Logan as a step relative who I'll never see had a still born called Logan.

sandulacek · 18/12/2014 17:16

honey the Peruvian is called Senor Ceviche in Kingly court (just off regent street). The chicken was so soft and melting in my mouth. It was apparently a pop up restro 2 years ago.
I think if I wasn't signed off I would be asking for a seat too but being at home I'm not used to it Smile.
Btw everyone who is still working well done!

hanflan I do like all 3 too, Sophia would have been my choice too but one of my friends called her daughter that. Same with Isobel. Also like Sara but DH didn't pick that one from my shortlist.

Sorry to ignore the boy's name but I do like Sidney and Isaac.

Ok, this seems to be weird but I'll say it...I think we settled for Clara Rose.

Viper I can't believe your Mil wanted to get your DP to ask! Don't get too assured by the sex though as we're expecting a girl but her nose and chin are like my DH's.
