9am on 12th dec, dh thinks it'll be too soon as consultant wanted to wait 4 weeks but Christmas got in the way. Keep hoping its at least slightly improved but they seem to have no idea how it will go.

Lauren82000 · 02/12/2014 20:22

Let's hope you get at least a slight improvement and it'll release some of your worry. Thanks

BananaToast · 02/12/2014 20:24

My scan is at 9.30 on the 12th so I'll be thinking of you cinnamon. Fingers crossed they will see an improvement.

Also hoping for good growth for you kismac

daholster · 02/12/2014 20:34

freedom I meant that almost all the first names we like are one syllable and I think it's hard to put them together - Jack Heath F***er for example does not work in my mind. Can't have Monty Jack cos it reminds me of cheese Grin and can't have Jack Rory because it reminds me of the awful children's programme Jackanory!!!

For anyone struggling with girls names here was our list that we now won't be using (at least for a few more years, if at all Sad) I love these names:

Felicity
Hermione
Oriana/Ariana
Leila
Nia
Genevieve
Briar
Ottilie (Tilly)
And of course you are welcome to Meadow too Smile

kismac hopefully it's just catching up Flowers They often do. Fingers crossed.

Asked a midwife today about the contractions I have been having. She said painful but manageable contractions at 21 weeks with no bleeding is nothing to worry about. Just inconvenient!!!

FreedomHuntress · 02/12/2014 21:23

hol. Ah, I see.
Heathley Jack is great. Sorted!

BrixtonBunny · 02/12/2014 22:08

Think we've now definitely decided on a name if baby is a girl Grin It's more unusual than I thought - apparently around one baby a year is given that name in England and Wales, which I'm a bit surprised by as I think the name is pretty lovely, and is unusual without sounding wacky or odd or pretentious (I hope!)

Still not having much luck with boy names though - any ideas for lovely, slightly unusual boy names?

Freedom - I'm looking at you for name ideas Wink

TheBooMonster · 02/12/2014 22:28

brixton we were going to go for Oliver had bump been a boy, but it's not that unusual.

I think I might have DH sold on Evelyn!

daholster · 02/12/2014 22:37

Brixton

I liked Silvan, dh said no... I like Sylvester too.

I also like Soren and Seth. Not all As on purpose!

I also love Rustan, Rusty for short. Dh doesn't of course!!!

I will keep thinking. I love thinking about baby names Grin

daholster · 02/12/2014 22:51

Lol... Not all Ss on purpose...

I feel horrible this evening, sore throat and chilly and nauseous. Don't want any dinner. Wonder if I'm starting with what dh has. Hope not.

This won't mean a lot to you but this day last year I was admitted to hospital for something like the fourth and final time in the year and ended up having my op as a last resort. Last year at this point I felt so rubbish I wasn't even wanting to sort Christmas at all. This year I am so happy. And festive! I feel quite emotional about it all! On 8th December it will be one year since I got my bag and my life back!!! [Fgrin]

Cheesy post over!

daholster · 02/12/2014 22:58

Congratulations daholster On your bagiversary as lady put it! I have a close family friend with ongoing colitis/chrons issues and many of my patients have chronic conditions of a similar nature so appreciate how tough it is. Well done you!

cinnamongreyhound · 03/12/2014 07:17

I used to work with a not very nice french man arsehole called sylvain, so that would be out for me!

Ah that's a lovely post daholster, so glad you've been able to get your life back and enjoy things again!

I'm starting to wonder if I have a bug. Had horrible pains in my stomach Sunday but it passed so we still went for our Indian meal, I then felt awful in bed but assumed I'd just eaten too much. The last two days I've eaten because I was hungry and I still feel very nauseous if I get too hungry but really enjoyed any food. Had pains in my stomach on and off but last night I ended up being sick about half an hour after I went to bed. Feeling uncomfortable this morning, had put it down to prefnancy before now Sad

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 03/12/2014 07:51

Sounds like a bug cinammon have you checked your temperature? Keep well hydrated and rest up, hope you feel better.

My belly has popped out overnight!

Cinnamon hope you feel better soon. Think bugs in preg must be inevitable when you already have kids what with nursery, activities etc. waiting for DD to bring something back.

Btw has everyone with toddlers had them vaccinated against flu (if you want to of course)? I had DD done this year and last. She's hard as nails and has never had any reactions to vaccines so I thought why not.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/12/2014 08:15

Yes, Ds2 had the nasal vaccine last year and this and had no adverse reaction to it either year.

Oh and I went to a brilliant exercise class last night called Maternally Fit that I also did in first pregnancy. It's in various locations in sw London and there's one in Angel too. It's virtually opposite my work on one of my working days so made sense as I didn't have to force myself to go out once DH home from work to look after DD.

Lots of cardio stuff but you use big silver balls rather than leaping about on floor which supports the baby safely. The squats were a killer - I failed to keep pace - must do better next time. And I was on the lightest arm weights and it was still hard - most of the others had the heavier ones - will be really good to build up some upper body strength for when baby here.

En route home I broke one of my rules and ate on tube as far too hungry to wait until I got home. Never has a falafel wrap tasted so good! People probably thought it a bit odd when I whipped out my fork and bean salad but hopefully the baby on board badge went some way to explaining!

dancestomyowntune · 03/12/2014 08:21

I'm finding sleep an issue too. I am tired, go up and get to sleep relatively easily, but then wake at about 2/3am and can't sleep again. I feel wide awake, the other morning I got up at 4am and cleaned the lounge! Trouble is by mid afternoon I'm shattered. Heartburn is becoming more of a problem too. The joys of pregnancy!

smogsville · 03/12/2014 08:21

Oh and Banana, you're obviously a nicer person than I am. I brandish my badge, find a fit and healthy young man and get myself a seat every time..

BananaToast · 03/12/2014 08:55

Well I don't really need a seat yet, I'm perfectly able to stand - would just prefer not to - so don't like to ask. Will save that for when I really need it!

Will definitely investigate maternity fit classes, thanks for the tip. I'd also recommend YogaBellies - it's the most relaxing and lovely hour and a quarter of my week! Think they have classes all over London, if not country-wide.

Wineandchoccy · 03/12/2014 09:04

It's so cold this morning and I am really tired had a rubbish nights sleep I needed the loo at midnight, 2.30 and 5.30 and struggled to get to sleep because I was cold when I got back into bed.
I've only got 2 appointments at work today so might come home early and have a cheeky 40 winks!

TheBooMonster · 03/12/2014 09:35

DD has given the house a cold, DH is in dying duck mode so I angrily shoved lemsip at him this morning. Sleeping really badly amongst the sounds of everyone hacking and coughing and being kicked awake from the inside every time I actually get to sleep. DD has tumble tots today and I'm half tempted to see if FiL will take her so I can get an extra hours sleep... But then I can't stock up on duck spring rolls I've had three packs in he past 2 days and need mooooore from the supermarket next to tumble tots and it looks like Sainsbury's has a clothes sale on...

Bit annoyed, we had someone over to do the structural survey for replacing the boarding and guttering on the house, neighbours have been complaining that our crappy guttering is causing damage inside their conservatory so we've had to fork out to get it done this month. The surveyor reckons their conservatory breaks planing regulations and never should have backed onto our extension in the first place! Bloody cheek of it! And because their conservatory backs onto our extension there isn't a gap like there should be and he's going to need access to their garden in order to do some of the work... I'll let DH break that news to her...

FreedomHuntress · 03/12/2014 10:13

Brixton, I LOVE talking names. Feel like I am done and dusted with ours as we had them sorted years ago (middle name changed though - we loved Isis, but that was before the terrorists appropriated it!), so hit me up!

smog, have not had DS vaxxed for flu, didn't have it for this pregnancy either. He's not actually even had a cold in his four years, so I'm hoping he has his own super powers!

Sorry so many are feeling poorly.

Boo, what will you do re naughty neighbours?

Just had our anomaly scan, all as good as is possible to tell, so I am finally going to relax and let myself buy some things. It was really quick, less than 20 minutes. We are away for a week (hence slightly early scan) from this evening (just UK - doing London and Peppa Pig World - miles away from where we live). Telling PIL en route down. Going to put DS in a Big Brother tshirt and see how long it takes them to notice.

Ha ha freedom that's how we told people! It was brilliant, enjoy it! Have a lovely holiday.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! And I have a slightky sore throat and newly irritated runny back of nose so think I am coming down with ANOTHER cold! Wonder if it is dd's who is snorting and coughing next to me... Poor little thing, she is sooooooo snotty and crackley... Can't be any fun.
