currently at my mums away from flea fog

I was never sick or nauseous last time I was pg and shes eight and half now.

numberthree my exh is going through a random stage with our daughter, he keeps letting her down.

im so jealous of all theae early scans I havent seen my midwife yet

itsnotthatdeep · 26/11/2014 16:51

BUTLER cant you get stuck in traffic or just beg a dodgy tummy and just have salad or something

TallGiraffes · 26/11/2014 16:52

Sorry Itsnotthatdeep, I'm sure it must be really annoying. I know how incredibly lucky I am to have the UK's best maternity service (they won an award and everything). Their post miscarriage care is unbelievably amazing.

Sarkymare · 26/11/2014 17:03

Butler you can have steak. You can even have it medium rare if you like as long as all sides and edges are seared (which should be pretty standard in a restaurant) as for cocktails could you go to the bar yourself and order a mocktail? A lot of places do some really lovely non alcoholic ones.

Butler4 · 26/11/2014 17:08

Yeah think I'm going to have to try that one sarky thanks. Think I'll have to lie about being out the night before and feeling hungover.

TouchPauseEngage · 26/11/2014 17:17

I'm afraid steak is another of the food rules I'm breaking...as long as it's sealed Im having it rare. butler even if you can't order at the bar just order the mocktail with the most cocktaily sounding name, and order last so menus have been taken From the others and they can't say 'Oooh what's in that' and have a look.

Butler4 · 26/11/2014 17:22

Ah great idea touch. Will need to remember that. Dh won't be there for support cos he is away just now so I'm flying solo! Eek! Will just try and see what I can do with the steak without anyone noticing! Lol

Fleurchamp · 26/11/2014 18:00

Thanks laspalmas I was born at 33 weeks and so I am now thinking its a really, really bad idea. Although I am not going to a third world country and DH has family in said country- their healthcare is pretty good and we have really good insurance. We shall see.

Forgotten names already but congrats to those with good news at scans Grin

I got another appointment with the midwife today. The day before my other one and with the wrong hospital. I think someone in the NHS is meddling with my already addled mind Confused

Fleurchamp · 26/11/2014 18:02

butler can you be on a diet?

I used this excuse at the weekend by saying I have a lot of parties coming up and a wedding around Christmas (which is true) and I have a snug dress to get in to.

I am a size 8 and usually eat like a horse and drink like a fish but so far people have bought it (possibly due to my v bloated stomach!) and one "friend" was recommending diets to me Hmm

Zampa · 26/11/2014 18:05

How long did it take for people to be notified of their booking in appointments? I called the hospital on 17/11 and was told I'd receive a letter with the date/time. But nothing has arrived!

6+5

TouchPauseEngage · 26/11/2014 18:12

Zampa it works differently here. I called once I hit 8 weeks and they booked my appointment over the phone. Still waiting for scan date though x

Butler4 · 26/11/2014 18:16

Fleur I don't think anyone would buy the diet. Have always been able to eat whatever I want and not put on weight. Thanks for the idea though

Pipbin · 26/11/2014 18:20

Bitter sweet news there Expat. Very reassuring to hear about your lack of symptoms.

Lew. I can't believe that, quite aside from you actually being married, that a boyfriend was not next of kin. Most of the people I know with children aren't married.

Pipbin · 26/11/2014 18:20

I had to book my own booking in appointment......

WantToGoingTo · 26/11/2014 18:54

Zampa mine was made over the phone, after being passed to various different midwives so I could arrange to have my ante-natal care at work (I work at a hospital). Think it is all different. As you are nearly 8 weeks I would expect a letter soon. Maybe call them tomorrow to chase?

naty1 · 26/11/2014 18:56

pipbin. I was thinking the same, not sure how they can distinguish married vs living tog. Sounds a bit moralising.
Ive been with boyfriend 15yr in jan. Most marriages dont last that long (and ive used the money saved for my 3 ivfs)
Though it sounds like grasping at straws to reject.

My only symptom is extreme tiredness - though this could be the strain on my thyroid. Ive napped every other day. (Think i have a sinus infection just waiting hoping itll clear itself up)

Zampa · 26/11/2014 19:11

Thanks chaps. I'll wait until Monday I think and see if the letter arrives. I just want something to look forward to!

Pipbin · 26/11/2014 19:22

Anyone else obsessing over their nipples at the moment?

itsnotthatdeep · 26/11/2014 19:32

Zampa my letter took two and half weeks !

The services seemed to have really dropped from when I had dd

Apparently my first appt will take at least 60-80 minutes I'm another one that's rhesus neg too.

Is anyone else having an elective c/s?

I'm curious as my last one was an emergency despite being booked for an elective c/s.

itsnotthatdeep · 26/11/2014 19:32

Piping was amazed at how much they grew last time ShockShockShock

WantToGoingTo · 26/11/2014 19:40

itsnotthatdeep it's my first and I am hoping for a waterbirth if the pool is free. Best laid plans and all though...

And yes, pip my nipples are changing a lot! The outer bits have gone dark (though not much bigger) but the actual nipple-bit (I'm sure there is a technical term) has stayed its normal colour? Weird. Boobs feel like melons though, even though they have probably only got about half a centimeter bigger!

OP posts:
itsnotthatdeep · 26/11/2014 19:46

Want mine went some crazy dark colour all over eventuallyShock

I also wanted a waterbirth but then my birthing phobia kicked in, they look really relaxing

misseskimo · 26/11/2014 19:46

fleur I was also born at 33wks, so would be wary of going anywhere around that time that wasn't near my hospital just in case. But that's just me.

I read somewhere that if you were prem, that it is likely your DC will be... Anyone know if this is true, or just old wives tale?

Zampa I rang my Drs the day after I got my BFP [06/11] (I was due to go for further fertility testing 2dys later and needed to cancel it). They booked me in for a phone apt the same day, then a physical apt. with the Dr for the next day. He got me referred for an early scan which was 2wks later, did loads of blood/urine tests and booked me on the system as pg. I received a call from the midwife a week later on a Sunday morning who booked me in for my first apt. on 3rd Dec, and got my letter for the 12wk scan [30/12] beginning of last week. They also called me again today to give me the results of all the tests done.

BUT My Drs are open 15hrs a day, 7dys a week, and offer telephone Dr. apts within an hour of you calling... So I'm wondering if that has something to do with the speedy response times???

Number3cometome · 26/11/2014 19:53

itsnot I'm technically going to be an elective although actually don't have much choice. Had two sections already bad natural birth is not an option. I was 10cm dial aged with DS after a 30 hour labour before having seizures so I've had my fair share of labour pain haha

Zampa · 26/11/2014 19:59

Wow misseskimo, that's service!
