Hey marking my spot. I'm 33 and DC1 due 2nd July.
Seeing the midwife this week so hoping to get a scan before Xmas

Sarkymare · 24/11/2014 16:02

Appointment went well. Won't Be having a scan until after new years at the very earliest and I dont have another appointment until 16 weeks! Time is going to drag so much Sad

Pipbin · 24/11/2014 16:05

Sorry to hear that Notapenny

I am so scared of having an mc as this was IVF and our last roll of the dice. If this one fails then it's game over.

WantToGoingTo · 24/11/2014 16:17

Have all my fingers crossed for you pip, hopefully this one will be a sticky bean :)

FX pip Smile

Just got back from the gym. Had a good run, but it still freaks me out how unpregnant I feel when I am in there?

I never went to the gym with DS and DD, infact I was badly out of shape and ended up 14 1/2 stone with DD. I managed to get myself down to a size 8, which was not manageable for me. I am now a curvy 10-12 and do enjoy my time in the gym, especially weights.
I have horrendous blood pressure problems caused by a heart issue after eclampsia (seizures) and a stint in ITU with my DS, i'm already on 3 tablets a day now but trying my best to keep fit and keep it down.
Hopefully MW will tell me tomorrow the tablets are working so far.

So when I talk about gym, please don't think I am a vain gym freak, I just have to do this so I don't make myself ill.
I don't actually love the gym all that much haha

Number3cometome · 24/11/2014 16:33

Sorry about the life story there! Blush

WantToGoingTo · 24/11/2014 16:50

number I took up aerobics but haven't been since finding out as am a bit cared to jig it around! Do you think will be ok? I am v bad with exercise I don't do much at all :( Ido need to though, like you I am a 10-12 on a good day but also have asthma and am worried my body won't be strong enough for labour if I don't make an effort! I am v unfit at the moment. The gym is ony down the road from me, I would like to swim but it's so cold recently bought of taking clothes off and not going in sauna afterwards doesn't motivate me much...

There is a Due in August thread now! We aren't the newbies anymore Smile

WantToGoingTo · 24/11/2014 17:14

Ultimate Ohmygosh! Can't believe that. It feels like yesterday I saw those two lines on a pregnancy test, but at the same time it feels like I have been pregnant forever! And it's only been 2 weeks!

5+3

number I love the gym but Im a good 14/16 when I had my first I was an 18 and it made everything about my birth n labour hardShock Shock much more so than I ever thought.

ive been too tired to go as of yet but im off tomorrow n doc says im fine with the sonarium and steam room but not really the sauna but I can use yhe the hydro therapy pool as long as im not sat on the jets lolWink Wink Wink Wink

Supershiv1 · 24/11/2014 17:33

Exams done and nausea decided to make an appearance at the same time. Grrr!

Bustherb · 24/11/2014 17:50

Tammi I just pm'd you. Grin Xxx

naty1 · 24/11/2014 18:17

'WantTo'. I also have asthma and it didnt seem to affect labour, though mine is very mild. (It may be why g&a had no affect on me at all as i prob dont breathe very deeply- certainly not a high that people on tv have)
Its worth doing exercise when poss though as carrying all the extra weight can be fun.

Pipbin · 24/11/2014 18:28

Number. I run but the IVF clinic and the GP have advised to be over cautious and not go. So I have taken to going for an early morning walk instead.

itsnotthatdeep · 24/11/2014 18:31

I got diagnosed with pregnancy asthma last time, I had to have a brown inhalor with a spacer morn n night but I feel it was more to do with me packing up smoking than anything else.

BadIdeaBear · 24/11/2014 18:39

Well done on exam supershiv1! Bad timing on the nausea! I only had one major attack of nausea today - my first that's felt proper draining. And it only went and happened about 20 minutes before a lecture I was giving... grrr

Leela5 · 24/11/2014 18:40

I really want to exercise but as I didn't do much before pregnancy I have been warned not to. I'll wait until 2nd trimester.

My sore boobs have gone away. I've got achy lower back and little cramps along my abdomen. Keep reassuring myself this is normal

Leela5 · 24/11/2014 18:42

Sorry about nausea supershiv but well done on the exam Smile

WiIdfire · 24/11/2014 18:45

Virtual - are you going to your closest hospital for the scan? I will be there tomorrow if your other half can't come and you want someone to come and sit with you while you wait? If not, I know them in the EPU quite well and they are really very nice, so I hope that side of things wont add to the stress. The scanner ladies (I haven't met any scanner men yet!) are also very pleasant (I have had the 'pleasure' of meeting three of them, IYSWIM) so the practicalities of it are not something to worry about. Thinking of you for tomorrow.

Blueskygirl30 · 24/11/2014 18:49

Good evening, please may I join? I've just had my BFP confirmed today with bloods and Im 4w+4 not due until 29th July so alost a month behind many of you! I had bleeding last week so already had an internal scan that showed not much at all and have another one booked in two weeks. I have no symptoms at all really and feel like I'm just pretending!

Lewaney3 · 24/11/2014 19:31

Hi all,

I've managed to get a gp appointment next week! Hoping I may get an early scan too.

I'm in the same boat leela I've not done much exercise before and I'm wary of starting now.

Welcome bluesky I'm also due on 29th July Smile

Thepurplegiraffe · 24/11/2014 19:33

Welcome and congratulations Bluesky, so glad you are here after the drama of the last few days.

I am late to this conversation but I have decided to have the scan at nearly 10 weeks. I hope that by then if the baby is ok then the risks will habe decreased. That's my hope anyway and I really want to get an idea if things are ok before Christmas. It does seem silly though in a way having a scan at 10 weeks before 1 at just over 12.

Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you tomorrow Virtual.

StoneBaby · 24/11/2014 19:40

I don't exercise but walk to work and to school to get DS - so anything between 30 and 45mn a day. I'm a size 13 14 and thankfully only put on1 stone during my 1st pg most of which was water retention so hoping it'll be the same this time around.

I got asthma too. Having my 1st appointment with the diabetes specialist tomorrow (I'm type 1 diabetes) then it'll be one every 2 weeks! I hope he maybe able to advise me about the obs appointment... There's only one specialist surgery on the island.

Welcome bluesky

WantToGoingTo · 24/11/2014 19:56
