Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Feel so upset today, my mum who I don't see has text me saying 'congrats and that she's there if I need her not that I will' why she had to say the last bit, why couldn't she just say congrats I don't know! I can only guess who has told her. Plus were trying to keep this to only family and I don't know who she may tell , just don't know what to do. Now my brother who works with my hubby has come over to his desk this morning to say congrats when we specifically told him we were not telling anyone other than family. Literally can't stop crying, feel like it's a right mess and wish we hadn't told anyone ???????? xxx

BlazeofLight · 24/11/2014 09:13

virtual big hugs. My experience so far (DS1 is 13 months) is that my DH has to be told, very clearly, what I need from him.

He would have done exactly what your DH did this morning, and have no idea that it would be upsetting. I am sure there are some lovely sensitive empathetic men out there, but sadly when it came to pregnancy my DH isn't one of them!

Please try to tell him how you feel, and don't be afraid to ask for what you need. It is scary time and we all deserve support.

Hope the EPU call you back quickly, and you get reassurance.

VirtualPointyHat · 24/11/2014 09:41

EPU worried about ectopic

Have to go in tomorrow for a scan at midday.

DH offered to take time off work, but will have to be a whole day at that time. I will also have to tell work as it is meant to be my appraisal at that time, so if I just said Dr appt they would ask me to re-book it

And as a fairly trivial thing, I am terrified of an internal scan, and while I want DH with me, not sure I want him in the room for that

Linseyd · 24/11/2014 09:45

hope all you ladies are ok this morning any news virtual hope your ok feel so sick one minute then starving hungry the next anyone else feel the same xxxx

WantToGoingTo · 24/11/2014 10:02

Virtual hope it goes well tomorrow. I have had an internal in the past, it sounds daunting, but it isn't that bad. It is essentially a dildo covered in jelly and they move it around it a bit. It wasn't painful or anything like that, just a bit cold! DH could always go with you to the appointment, but wait outside while you have the scan. At least he is willing to support you :)

Number3cometome · 24/11/2014 10:03

virtual how many weeks are you?

Please don't worry about the internal scan, it is not painful at all and they use plenty of lubricant. I usually have issues with smear tests as my erm area is quite tight, but have not had issues with internal scans before.

Perhaps ask DH to wait outside then he can be right there to support you if you change your mind.

Try not to worry too much, it is scary, but some spots of blood can be completely normal. There are some ladies on here who have had bleeding and baby has been perfectly well. Try to stay as positive as possible until you have any proof otherwise xx

Sarkymare · 24/11/2014 10:08

Morning all. I have my MW appointment at 1:30 fingers crossed I get given a scan appointment too!

Bustherb · 24/11/2014 10:09

Virtual I saw the internal scan equipment yesterday and it's not as bad as you think. I didn't have it but it's not that big and from what I understand it doesn't go in that far anyway. Linsey yes I'm the same, sick 4 times this morning and I feel hungry but then have to force it down. It's funny because it's like my body only likes certain things, every time I drink tea that comes back up again but then I can eat a pizza and it's fine so random. Xxx

WantToGoingTo · 24/11/2014 10:11

Fx sarky! Hope all goes well :)

VPH the internal scan (or dildocam as I like to call it) isn't that bad at all. It's nothing like a speculum or any other internal examination you may have had, really quite unobtrusive & gentle (for me anyway!).

Number3cometome · 24/11/2014 10:15

Sophie I agree! Usually I have real troubles with smears (I have had two children but both C-sections) but didn't find the dildocam an issue or painful.
just a bit ermm wet!

Sarky good luck! I am in tomorrow at 11am shits pants

VirtualPointyHat · 24/11/2014 10:36

thanks all, thats reassuring

I am 8 weeks today by my count

Will wait for boss to come out of meeting then let her know, then try and take my mind off of it until tomorrow as nothing I can do either way

patienceisvirtuous · 24/11/2014 10:46

Virtual another one saying the internal scans are not unpleasant - I had one a few weeks ago. I hate speculums, but this is nothing like it - much easier and gentle.

Is anyone having period-like lower back pain? :(

Mine is pretty much constant - but reasonably mild. I had an m/c in May and I'm totally paranoid this pg is going to go the same way. I need to try and be calm :( It's so hard.

5+1

Sarkymare · 24/11/2014 11:38

dildocam made me laugh more than it should have Grin

Pipbin · 24/11/2014 11:48

With IVF you have to have a dildocam every other day! It it's as bad as even a smear.

StoneBaby · 24/11/2014 12:25

Internal scans are fine. I had numerous over the last yeardue to ovulation monitoring. You DH could stay on your head side iyswim your bottom part will be covered by a sheet anyway. Fx for you

Mrsc020987 · 24/11/2014 12:29

Just wondering if I could join, expecting dc3 21 July. Extremely shocked. Dd1 - 23 months. Dd2 - 6 months. Still breast feeding, to say I am shocked is an under statement. Always planned on big family but our little miracle has appeared much earlier than anticipated. Apparently I am not supposed to sleep. I know this is great and they will be so close I am just so tearful at the shock! Congrats to all, looking forward to talking out of control bowels, bladders and hormones with you all!

Leela5 · 24/11/2014 12:34

Yes I'm also getting lower back cramps at 6+2. It's terrifying me :(

Number3cometome · 24/11/2014 12:36

MrsC welcome! Well you certainly have your work cut out for you, but as we all know, it's an exciting and lovely journey. Congratulations, and don't worry about the tears, mine are 11 + 7 and I still spent all Saturday crying for no apparent reason haha

ohlordyplordy · 24/11/2014 12:41

Hello broody nice to see you. I think we've decided to not have the early scan (unless something untoward happens). I tend to get anxious in certain situations, so I think actually having the scan will be a bit stressful for me personally. So i'll just assume everything is ok and tell my folks at xmas, when i'll be 9 weeks. We'd be telling them at the 12 week point anyway, even if things were bad, as i'd need their support, so I might as well tell them at 9 weeks, with the caveat that it's still early days.
So I've told ovia app that I had a +hpt and it says i'm 4+6 today. Is anyone using any apps to record their pregnancy? I don't know whether to keep using ovia or to just write a diary?
For anyone off the ttc busses, sunbathingcat just announced on the nov bus that she had her 12 weeks scan and all is well Grin.

Number3cometome · 24/11/2014 12:45

ohlordy i'm using the '+ pregnancy' app, it's brilliant.
Even OH has downloaded it.

Does a little partner info bit and daily blogs.

Pipbin · 24/11/2014 12:48

Which app is that Number?

JoY007 · 24/11/2014 12:51

Morning Ladies,

Called in sick today, I have never slept so much in my life between yesterday and today. I hope I feel energised for work tomorrow.

Regarding apps, I use fertility friend and the baby centre app.

Number3cometome · 24/11/2014 12:54

pip it's called 'Pregnancy +, health & parenting' on the app store
