Glad to hear everything is good for you bustherb and jealous you got pics, I didn't get any at mine, though tbf I wasn't expecting to at 6wks.

lizzi I'm sure all will be ok. From what I've read the scan can't pick up much pre-6wks, and heartbeat is normally only from 6-7wks according to my Bounty app. I think any scans pre-6wks are just to rule out ectopic which this has done? So fx and keep going.

mister I'm still feeling crap, bad cramps, painful trapped wind and bloating so bad it hurts to touch Sad but DH has just made me some tea and biscuits so I can have yet more paracetamol. Supposed to be out with parents for lunch in an hour and trying to pick myself up a bit so they don't ask too many questions!!

misseskimo · 23/11/2014 13:05

Has anyone managed ro find any pregnancy safe remedies for trapped wind? I find myself daydreaming of windeze atm! Haha

Threeplus1 · 23/11/2014 13:10

misseskimo I find that lying on my back and doing pelvic tilts and bringing my knees into my chest and slowly back out again really helps Blush

VirtualPointyHat · 23/11/2014 13:45

Excellent new Bus

I had some brown blood spotting while at the sleepover last night. Couldn't do anything then.

Its stopped now, so not sure what I am meant to do?

Leela5 · 23/11/2014 14:01

bus hooray! Great news

liz 5 weeks is awfully early for heartbeat at early scan. Seeing yolk sac is very good news and all they will be doing is not speculating because genuinely they can't see anything - likely because it's too early. When my first pregnancy was 'not viable' it was because sac wasn't developing enough and no yolk sac at 7 weeks. So it had stopped developing. They have to be so careful not to give you incorrect info at the scans.

Hopefully in a few weeks you will have your scan and see a lovely strong heartbeat Smile

Leela5 · 23/11/2014 14:02

virtual brown spotting is common? It's old blood. If it's fresh or you have cramping then call EPU. Still call them if you're concerned to put mind at rest, but it's very common. Try not to worry

Leela5 · 23/11/2014 14:03

miss I find going for a walk helps Grin

How are you today?

JoY007 · 23/11/2014 14:15

Hello All, hope you are all having a fab weekend. I am in bed today, feel so tired. Decided to enjoy the privilege of staying in bed, breakfast was a struggle, had to eat in small bites. Watching the F1 from my iPad and hoping for a Hamilton win Smile

Bustherb · 23/11/2014 14:16

Thanks everyone WinkWinkEnvyEnvy my new Edd is 8th July. She even told me which side i ovulated on!!! Shock Hope everyone is feeling ok today xxxxx

WantToGoingTo · 23/11/2014 14:41

Such great news bustherb!

And great news that it isn't an ectopic lizzi. I thought hat at 5 weeks you would be only able to see yolk sac anyway as although heart may have already started beating it can't be picked up on ultrasound til 6 weeks? I am sure everything is fine :) have my fx for you Thanks

Thepurplegiraffe · 23/11/2014 14:42

Think you are in luck joY, watching tooSmile

JoY007 · 23/11/2014 15:37

Awesome, and I had my first cry watching him on the podium. I will never forget this year Smile

chellyyx · 23/11/2014 15:57

Marking my place, sore boobs and really heightened sense of smell, peed on test 10 mins ago, 2 lines. Number 3

LizziTea · 23/11/2014 16:27

Thanks for the reassurance everyone. Given the amount of anxious browsing I did online yesterday, I'm surprised that I didn't realise that we could only expect to see the yolk sac at this stage. Online research today confirms that this is the case! I feel so uneducated about this whole pregnancy thing... Only thing is now that I don't have another scan until 12 weeks, so I have no medical reason to see that beating heart for quite a while! Unless we decide to go for a private scan.

I'm starting to feel really sick today, which I feel jointly very happy about and rather apprehensive. Good because I know it's a sign everything's going smoothly, but not sure how I'm going to feel about a busy week of work starting tomorrow! DH is being lovely and keeps bringing me ginger tea.

ohlordyplordy · 23/11/2014 16:29

So excited for those of you having your early scans. I'm torn whether to try and book one before xmas when we'll tell my folks (whether we've had an early scan or not), or just wait for 12 weeks. I've read conflicting opinions as sometimes they can show an issue, which has actually resolved itself by the 12 week scan. We'll only be telling my folks early anyway, so if anything goes wrong between xmas and 12 weeks we won't have the whole family knowing about it, which I would find difficult.
No major symptoms to report. Have fallen asleep on the sofa the past two nights and have managed to sleep right through when I've gone up to bed, so really caught up now, after last weeks insomnia.
I stopped temping on Friday, finding it hard to get out of the habit though after doing it for months!
4+6

Butler4 · 23/11/2014 16:44

Random question: how do you cope when children jump all over you and make contact with your stomach? I am aware I'm being paranoid as a first timer! Neice and nephew just overly excited every time I see them

UltimateDuck · 23/11/2014 16:59

Lordy. We are having the same debate as you. I normally wouldn't have an early scan as they can cause unnecessary worry. But it would be lovely to be able to tell the parents at Christmas. I'll be 9 weeks by then so if I can get a scan booked for after 8 weeks i think we'll do it. It will be easier that lying about not drinking, which can be quite boozy Grin. I have found a relatively local place that does them for £80.

Butler my 2yo is currently using me as a trampoline. I just move her off the specific tummy area but as the months pass there is no way I will be able to avoid all the impacts. Babies are very well cushioned in there thankfully.

Mamabear14 · 23/11/2014 17:12

Glad everyone is doing ok. My nausea seems to have worn off completely which is worrying me. My nipples are sore though and I have backache. I've never wanted I feel sick so much! I've booked a private scan for the 18th dec when I should be 8+3 and it can't come quick enough

BadIdeaBear · 23/11/2014 17:16

Wow this thread doesn't half shift! Been in Chester this weekend visiting my DSis and her new son - so nice! So I told her our news but she's under oath of secrecy til after Christmas.

Now back home - v tired after journey which seems ridiculous and in pjs and dressing gown on sofa while DH swears and stomps around trying to sort out a new PC he's just gone and bought and is trying to connect to his crazy network. I've informed him I'm going to ignore him - bad for my BP to get involved, surely?!

Feeling slightly nauseous, which is as bad as it gets in that respect, but still totally ravenous. I'm having to ignore it or I'm gonna be piling on the pounds - which would be a shame giving the new no booze healthy lifestyle!

Glad you like my username supershiv1 - no more 'buying in bulk' for me for a while!

Bustherb · 23/11/2014 17:44

Ohlordy the lady who did my scan today said something similar to what you said about things working themselves out by 12 weeks, she said in measuring 7 &4 when I thought I was 8. She did say we should take into consideration late ovulation but also said these things work themselves out and by 12 weeks I could be what I thought weeks wise. X

Zampa · 23/11/2014 17:52

Pleased to hear everyone's good news today.

6+3 today and nausea really starting to kick in. Missing the good old days of no symptoms! Attempted to decorate our bedroom this weekend and managed 3 hours before giving up!

Roast dinner and a trashy film for me this evening.

scrivette · 23/11/2014 18:17

Ahhhhh, my 3 year old has chicken pox! I am seeing the doctor tomorrow so will mention it and am trying not to Google what can happen.

I had it it quite badly when I was 9, so hopefully I am immune to it and this baby will be okay.

Lewaney3 · 23/11/2014 18:27

Hi ladies,
Lovely to hear all the good news Smile
I was wondering those who have booked a earlier private scan.. Are there any specific companies/clinics you can recommend? I would love to book one but google came up wth so many places and so many different prices I became baffled Confused I'm in Watford and London locations are easy for me to get to. I will be 8 weeks around 15th dec.

LizziTea · 23/11/2014 18:30

Scrivette - I'm pretty sure you're completely safe as you'll be immune if you've had it before. A quick google via NHS website has confirmed this, so I wouldn't worry but a GP could back this up! Not fun for your 3-year-old or you, though!

Thepurplegiraffe · 23/11/2014 18:33

I have booked a private scan for 13th December when I will be 9 +5. Whatever the outcome I want to be able to deal with it over Christmas rather than being at work.
After feeling awful for the last couple of days, I have actually felt a bit better today. Something tells me it's because my 1 year old actually slept last night.
