SparklyPenguin · 22/11/2014 15:43

Hopefully just a very short phase!

Number3cometome · 22/11/2014 15:48

Touch and sparky - my face looked like a pizza until about 2 days ago now it's calming down officially in alcohol detox mode since I got my BFP!

Just sitting down to an episode of 24 hours in A&E. Good job it's no longer at Kings hospital where I had DD or I would be in floods!

X

claireyelle · 22/11/2014 16:19

Hello, may i join in? I think I should be due around July 27th, I took a preg test a few days ago and i'm still in shock! I haven't had many symptoms yet except cramping and sore boobs. This is my first pregnancy, I'm excited but also scared. Nice to meet you all Smile

misseskimo · 22/11/2014 16:51

Hi ladies, I thought I was doing so well today, got up early to go get my nails done then went to the cinema with DH and out for a coffee before coming home. Been feeling fine all day and now I just found a miniscule amount of pink blood in my underwear after going to the loo and suddenly I feel sick, have really bad cramps and feel exhausted... I don't know whether its normal "growing pains", actually something wrong, or just me being super paranoid and over reacting Sad I'm supposed to be going to my close friend's 50th birthday party tonight and all I want to do right now is curl up in bed with a hot water bottle... Do you think I'm over reacting a tad? I already had a scan on Tuesday due to cramps and being unwell which was normal, but its left me paranoid at every little thing in the meantime. I'm around 6+4 going by scan

headlesschicken247 · 22/11/2014 17:38

Fingers crossed all ok miss.
I'm struggling atm at my dads. We've not told anyone yet and I'm not here with dh but dad has just got Camembert and will prob open some wine to have with supper. Don't really want to say anything yet esp after last time so may accept a glass and nurse it.

WantToGoingTo · 22/11/2014 18:11

headless I would say 'just a small one because I have quite a bad headache and don't want to make it worse'. Then just pretend to take some sips occasionally and not actually drink it :)

Hope all ok miss, some people do get spotting in early pregnancy and as you had a scan recently, hopefully all should be well. Fx for you Thanks

Headless, can you not just say that you are on antibiotics?

Threeplus1 · 22/11/2014 18:55

I've a similar dilemma coming up.... A girls night out. How do you say no to booze when you are known to love your cocktails?! I'm thinking of going the antibiotics route too pipbin though if they ask why, I'll be stumped!

I just recalculated my due date based on the actual date if conception (I am 100% sure of it) and it seems I'd actually be 7+1 now and due 11th July. I'm going to ring my midwife on Monday and see if this means they'll bump up my appointment

WantToGoingTo · 22/11/2014 18:59

Three weirdly enough my date of conception is the same EDD as my LMP! I am certain I conceived on exactly CD 14.

For everyone that's being sick and nausea, I'm finding the less I sleep the more nausea I am. Might just be coincidence but on Thursday night I had about 11 hrs sleep and felt fantastic in the day and last night I was up at 2,3,5,8 and I can't stop heaving xxx

Leela5 · 22/11/2014 19:04

bus I'm the same. Yesterday I had not slept well and felt terrible. Last night I got 8 hours and I've felt great today

Bustherb · 22/11/2014 19:17

It must be a trigger then leela, how many weeks are you?xx

Leela5 · 22/11/2014 19:25

6 today - drinking water and sleep keeps cramps and nausea at bay. But not possible most of the time due to pg insomnia! Smile

LovelyWeatherForDucks · 22/11/2014 19:33

Wow, this thread moves fast!

Urgh, got a rotten cold and feel totally wiped out. Tucked up in bed with TV and laptop now. Had a night away with DH last night that should have been lovely but i just wanted my own bed!

Just completed the nightly toddler bedtime battle. HOW on earth will it work with a newborn too??!

Also been researching 'to buy' list - having learnt a few things from last time round! No 1 priority will be a co sleeper cot and a sleepyhead support thing - I'll try everything to avoid a year of 45-minute wake ups again!

5 + 6 weeks...and counting....slowly.....

Thepurplegiraffe · 22/11/2014 19:43

There is most definitely a link between sleep and nausea, I found this last time too. I had been doing ok until a couple of days ago but now dd is keeping us up at night I feel absolutely awful.

Bustherb · 22/11/2014 19:52

Aw hope it doesn't last too long leela, I'm 8 today and only properly started with being sick on Wednesday! X

Supershiv1 · 22/11/2014 20:13

Chesterfield ladies weirdly I am not from Chesterfield, but Chester and I am travelling to Chesterfield tomorrow for exams on Monday. I've lived in Chesterfield 2 out of the last 3 weeks.......
DS is ill and I just want to go to bed. As soon as he nods of I think I will.
6+1

Kilicat · 22/11/2014 20:28

miss fx everything is ok. Light spotting is pretty common (although I had this a few weeks ago so it is definitely alarming). Is it worth phoning the EPU and seeing if you can get another scan to reassure yourself? Tiredness, sickness and cramps are all pretty normal so I wouldn't worry too much about them too much (easier said than done, I've been on the sofa for a big chunk of the day!).

TouchPauseEngage · 22/11/2014 20:36

miss hope you're ok. Fx for you.

supershiv a uni mate of mine was visiting once and rang to say she was waiting outside station. Could t see her anywhere and eventually worked out she'd gone to Chester by mistake... Shock

Anyway, further to my rant re DH and rugby this morning we did in fact end up in A&E with a foot and a facial injury! It was the same nurse we saw with broken shoulder she was very Hmm that he was playing again so soon. DH has cooled me steak and fries though so not too grumpy!

TouchPauseEngage · 22/11/2014 20:37

Cooked! Would be furious if he'd cooled my steak!

pepsi001 · 22/11/2014 20:42

Hello all. Congratulations on your BFP. Ive just found out I'm pregant today - peed on a stick today. Online calculators put due date as 30th July but yet to call doctor etc...

I'm 36 and this will mine and DH first child.

So excited and scared at the same time.

WantToGoingTo · 22/11/2014 20:43

Shiv you are doing exams too? I have my exam on Tuesday :( There seem to be quite a few of us studying :)

TouchPauseEngage · 22/11/2014 20:51

Welcome pepsi! Congratulations.

Lewaney3 · 22/11/2014 21:06

Congratulations pepsi your EDD is a day after mine Smile

Well ladies I've just cried over my fish and chips order being wrong... My pickle and pickle egg wasn't in there... The last time I cried over food, I was 9 and my brother ate my last packet of jelly sweets Blush...

MisterSafetyCatchIsNotOn · 22/11/2014 21:14

Ugh, tiredness definitely = sickness here, only got about 4 hours sleep last night and spent a lot of the day dashing to and from the bathroom. The only things I could manage to eat were tinned pineapple and chunks of cheese (not the best nutrition for growing a baby!) Lucky it's Saturday so DH was here and helpfully took DS out for a couple of hours in the afternoon. I have been feeling so rough this week, don't remember it being this bad last time so I think having to get up at 12am and 2am and 6.30 with a 2 year old (who hates sleep) is definitely having an impact!

How old is your daughter Itsnotthatdeep? I am trying to avoid telling DS about it until 4 months or so when it starts to show, tbh I'm a bit scared of his reaction as he is very clingy with me at the moment and gets so jealous so I want to give some thought to how to talk to him about it in a positive way. Do any with more than 2 have any tips on how to introduce the idea gently? I have had to say 'mummy is feeling a bit poorly today' rather too often this week to explain why I can't play / am losing my temper / am throwing up and I'm already feeling the guilt of how this is all affecting him!

LovelyDucks I'm with you, DS was (and still is) a terrible sleeper and I already promised myself a co-sleeper cot for this one to sleep in until she/he gives up night feeds. I did everything by the book with DS, moses basket next to bed until 7 months then in to own room, don't co-sleep, strict bedtime routine etc. but he fed in the night until 18 months and was up every 2-3 hours for the entire first year, I cannot do that again! I have recently come across cocoonababy nests which I wish I had known about last time. They are expensive but I think would have made all the difference to DS who got quite windy at night and hated to lie flat.

Hope you're feeling better Misseskimo, a tiny bit of pink spotting is usually nothing to worry about and nausea / cramping / exhaustion all sounds normal, wouldn't blame you for staying in tonight though I would want to do the same.

Lovely to see a little bean Kili! It's amazing how fast they develop at this stage. I have still not heard from the midwives, having submitted my form more than 2 weeks ago. Have called the GP and they promised to get them to call me on Tuesday so I hope to get some appointment dates soon, although I will be at work on Tuesday and share an office with my boss so it could be a bit awkward Confused By LMP I am now 8 weeks so I would have expected to hear back by now.

I'm struggling to keep up here, the thread moves so fast, hope everyone else is having a good weekend!
