Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

And I've also cloaked pipbin and badideabear (great name) for the gang!
I'm getting better at this remembering lark!

Pipbin · 20/11/2014 23:44

Which gang is that Shiv? The old girls gang?

blueberrymuffin14 · 20/11/2014 23:51

Hi, I'm new, due 14 July and this is our first. Reassuring to read everyone's updates and realise how different the symptoms can be. I'm 6 weeks and so far I've just had some cramping (mostly in the evenings) and my boobs are enormous (for me)! Had my first wave of proper nausea this afternoon but it passed pretty quick - lightgreen interesting to read about the pregnacare because at my first GP appt this week they told me I should taking vit D so I upgraded from the folic acid pills I'd been taking and had my first pregnacare this morning! Coincidence?!

I've also decided to have an early scan so we can tell families at xmas, they'd definitely notice if I'm not drinking. I'll be 8 and a bit weeks by the scan so hopefully everything will be on track and I can stop questioning every symptom (or lack thereof - I was actually a bit excited when I felt sick today, I know it's wrong!)

smallgreenbanana · 21/11/2014 04:42

Insomnia... And a migraine aura. Was hoping being pregnant would mean no migraines! I'm eating toast listening to the World Service.

Leela5 · 21/11/2014 06:46

Yup I get the insomnia every night. 2am this time.

Leela5 · 21/11/2014 06:54

Can any of you reassure me? In the next week I'm coming up to the point where I mc last time (sept). It's starting to really get to me and I'm terrified. I have woken up this morning and don't feel pregnant. No tingly boobs/pain, no nausea, no reassuring cramps. I'm 6 weeks. Is anyone else having days they wake feeling absolutely normal?

Leela5 · 21/11/2014 06:55

My dating early scan is not for another week and a half :(

Thepurplegiraffe · 21/11/2014 07:20

Blueberry it's completely normal to feel like that. I freak out every time the nausea goes away, silly I know.

Thanks Leela, I also saw the relative day of my mc as a massive hurdle, but even after that the worry is most definitely still there. I had that exact meltdown on DH yesterday saying that the symptoms were disappearing and I felt that things weren't right, I was really upset. Now the nausea has come back and I'm hoping things are ok again. I'm sure it will be the same for you. It's a roller coaster!

Thepurplegiraffe · 21/11/2014 07:20

Ps my mc was also September and I am also 6 weeks. Smile

Fleurchamp · 21/11/2014 08:01

leela I wake up every day and feel
perfectly normal.

I have not had nausea my boobs feel a bit tender but not noticeably bigger.

By the end of the day I get some womble pains and my boobs properly ache but that's it. Oh and insomnia, up and out the door to go swimming at 6am again today.

I have taken a test every day for the past week.... Hmm It just doesn't feel real. We're not telling anyone at all until we have a scan, I will be 10 weeks by that point, as I feel like a fraud.

I forget, have you arranged an early scan? Perhaps you should, just for reassurance.

I can't imagine how you must be feeling having suffered a mc, try not to get too stressed xx

Fleurchamp · 21/11/2014 08:02

Sorry la I should have read properly!!

I guess it's going to be a long week and a half - I assume they can't do it earlier than 7 weeks?

broodylicious · 21/11/2014 08:07

small, good work listening to WS - my brother in law presents for them!

leela, sending you many hugs. I can totally imagine your anguish and I will be in the same boat when I get to 12 weeks. I know no words of comfort or love will get you through the next few days but please just know you're in my thoughts xxThanksThanks

Leela5 · 21/11/2014 08:13

Thank you - appreciate your responses. I've got stabby pains in womb but not sure if that's pg symptom or wind!! Smile

Going to just keep everything crossed and hope this works out

Leela5 · 21/11/2014 08:15

fleur no the risk with doing scan too early is you might see nothing because it's too small, which could panic you for no reason. That happened last time and I then had agonising wait to see if it showed up a few days later. So they are doing mine at 7.5.

SophieBarringtonWard · 21/11/2014 08:22

Sympathies Leela. I got obsessed & anxious when I reached the same date as my MC happened, took myself off to EPU to have an early scan at that point. However despite having seen a heartbeat last week I am still anxious as I still don't really have symptoms! It's just a hard waiting game in the first trimester. Much better once you can feel movements.

sdyer · 21/11/2014 08:22

Morning all scrivette that's exciting! Are you having your baby at the princess royal?

SophieBarringtonWard · 21/11/2014 08:22

oh thanks Supershiv. I am planning a home birth so I am thinking/hoping it will work out for me with One2One.

Number3cometome · 21/11/2014 08:36

leela I'm the same! No breast soreness, no sickness, nothing.
Just an aversion to certain smells and the odd periody type pain.

Last week I felt nauseous then this week nothing!

I'm seeing the midwife on Tuesday, she is referring me for an early scan.

I have a strong feeling my dates may be wrong and they may put me back a week, but we will see x

Littlelady33 · 21/11/2014 08:43

Leela I'm also not really getting many symptoms at the moment - slightly sore boobs and I'm super tired but otherwise I really wouldn't know.
I'm only 5 + 1 though - it's super early to feel anything much I guess. After an MC earlier this year I'd love a few positive signs though :)

Bustherb · 21/11/2014 08:58

Hope you're ok leela Envy I had stabbing pains and thought it was something wrong but it was just trapped wind xxxxx feeling lots better today, think the more I sleep the less nausea I feel xxxxxxx

Leela5 · 21/11/2014 09:18

Aww thanks everyone. Crossing fingers for all of us Smile

Lewaney3 · 21/11/2014 09:21

Hi ladies can I join in!

BFP this week and nhs online putting me as expecting on 29th July :)
All feels slightly surreal even though I'm only around 4 weeks my breasts are sore and I can feel period like pains at night which keep me up :(

I've been in touch with gp who stated I have to book with midwife at 8 weeks. It's my first so feel quite anxious being in the dark until then.

Can I ask if anyone has had a gp appointment and what prenatal vitamins they were told to take? I've been taking 1000mg folic acid every day whilst trying to conceive. Unsure if I should be taking anything else or just wait until my8 week appt.

Romeolovesjuliet · 21/11/2014 09:23

Morning all. Hope everyone is doing ok. Awful nausea here, it's just constant at the moment. And the insomnia is driving me potty! Just wanted to say to the lady who was told she had a subchorionic haemorrhage (sorry can't scroll back), I had this with DD. I had SO much bleeding (almost like I had cut myself), so much so I could never have believed a baby would be ok. I had a massive bleed at about 7weeks and then it just stopped and DD was born at 38wks all lovely and healthy. Try not to worry, although I know it is terrifying even if you haven't actually bled yet.

Romeolovesjuliet · 21/11/2014 09:27

Oh and I didn't have it at all with DS - think it's just one of those things.

LizziTea · 21/11/2014 09:44

Thankyou everyone for the advice about travelling. I'm pretty sure I'm not going, but it's confusing because I reckon if I didn't know about the pregnancy or possible ectopic, I would feel just about well enough to go. (Though possibly not well enough to politely enjoy the wonderful meal my friend has planned for Saturday night!) I feel like nausea is just on the horizon but it hasn't set in properly yet - I just have moments of queasiness and these horrible tummy pains.
At the moment, however, I'm sitting at home waiting for the results of my second blood test, which might give a clue about whether all is well, and if I'm ready for a scan on Sunday. I think I would definitely opt for scan over a trip anyway, and if all isn't well then I certainly won't feel like going anywhere! Wish me luck when I get a blood test results phonecall in a few hours!
