Freedom I've read quite a lot about elimination communication, I'm fascinated by it and want to try it as much as possible! Have you read the blog "Lulastic and the Hippyshake'? If you haven't if recommend browsing through, wonderful gentle/attachment parenting blog featuring a truly super mama and her family! Smile

Cinnamon that sounds horribly worrying, though I'd echo what others have said in that they are probably being over cautious and ensuring you're not fretting for longer than you have to. Big hugs to you though. Thanks

BB, I am delighted we tried. Saved a fortune too (we did cloth nappies, as I said, so no continued purchasing of disposables anyway, but the laundry!). I haven't read that blog, I'll check it out, thanks!

Mel I started Sertraline a couple of weeks ago and I'm already starting to feel a bit better. I've had PND twice and had to come off Citalopram at the start of this pregnancy so my consultant is being proactive and starting me on ADs. Just check that fluoxetine is okay if you're planning to breastfeed.

JaneyTea · 22/11/2014 13:43

mel I can relate to how you're feeling. I saw the perinatal midwife this week and they prescribed quetiapine (I can't take antidepressants by themselves). The box has been sitting there for four days now, unopened. I know that after the first trimester the risks are reduced, but I still don't feel comfortable about taking them. I am trying to arrange some counselling and I think I'll call the midwife this week to talk through my concerns. It's such a hard decision to make and I keep going back and forth.

Ultimately, you'll suss out what's best for your health and your little one's. Take care.

Agree with TinyTear, ds1 asked at 2yrs 5m and was much easier than ds2. Because of my job I had two weeks over Christmas with no school runs and a week off work and I don't like using pull ups, he was 2yrs3 and a bit months and I knew the next block without school runs was Easter so cracked on. He was still having at least one accident a week until he was nearly 4 and sometimes more. Could be just he was different to ds1 but I feel I pushed him and he wasn't really ready.

Thanks all for your thoughts! I went to a birthday party and saw a friend I haven't seen since I got pregnant and she said congratulations, someone else told her it was a boy and I just cried!!!! Had a lovely time though and the boys had a fab time :)

BrixtonBunny · 22/11/2014 17:05

Hi ladies - embarrassing / TMI question alert! My nipples feel a bit weird today. I investigated, and a tiny bit of clear liquid leaked when I squeezed them. Shock

I thought it was much too soon for leaking nipples? Am I the only one? Should I be worried? Is it going to get worse? Am 20+3 today. Reassurance greatly appreciated... Confused

FizzyBubbly · 22/11/2014 17:46

Hope you feel better soon Mel, I have an idea how you're feeling as I'm waiting for an assessment myself. I sometimes think that just knowing you have the pills can make you feel better even if you don't take them, if you see what I mean. Was prescribed diazepam once, didn't take any, but just knowing they were there if I needed them helped immensely. And I'm sure the CBT will be of great help too. We're all here for you too!

Glad you've had a happier day today Cinnamon!

cinnamongreyhound · 22/11/2014 18:04

Mine leaked at night from 20weeks with both my two previous pregnancies BrixtonBunny. No damp patches at night so far but nipples are quite greasy when I take my bra off so guessing something's going on. I didnt want to wear a bra at night so just slept on a towel at the top of my body.

Sorry didn't mean to ignore your post mel0drama! You had lots of experienced posts and I really don't have experience of mental health problems. Perhaps speak to a midwife about it and explain your concerns. If you leave it too long though would you perhaps need a higher dose rather than taking a lower one now and being able to manage it?

Lauren82000 · 22/11/2014 18:32

Brixton mine only leaked towards the end of pregnancy. I could still get a little something out of my boobs right up until I got pregnant this time. That's over 2 years after finishing bf DD. Then all of a sudden couldn't get anything out of them, no idea what's going on with them as I thought they'd leak more not dry up while I'm pregnant.

BonjourMinou · 22/11/2014 18:54

Brixton Mine didn't leak until right at the very end, I think 37 weeks plus, but I remember them being super, super, insanely, unbelievably itchy around about this time, so perhaps it's all linked? and it's really hard to discreetly, but constantly itch both boobs

Lauren My midwife told me being pregnant would dry up my breastmilk, it's part of the reason I stopped bf DD around a month ago, I think she was just frustrated at not being able to get any out and was getting really bitey. Ouch!

MelODrama I was very depressed a long time ago now, luckily it hasn't come back for either of my pregnancies thus far, it's something I was absolutely dreading happening during my first pregnancy - i.e. I spent a good few nights crying my eyes out at the very possibility of going back to that dark place again, so you have my utmost sympathies. I found CBT really, really helped for me, but you do have to engage with the homework, if that makes sense - i.e. work hard at getting better - but I got there, eventually. Do what it takes for you to feel better, I'm sure the doctors wouldn't prescribe anything that would endanger the foetus, but you could always make an appointment to have a more in-depth discussion of any risks/side effects. Finally relented today and bought some maternity jeans - the difference is incredible! They are just so comfy and fit me brilliantly, and make me look pregnant rather than just a bit fat. Feels like a milestone for me!

Lauren82000 · 22/11/2014 20:44

I went looking for maternity jeans today but they only had 1 pair of size 8 but they were 32length and I'm only a dot. So going to try and get DH to come with me tomorrow to get some from mothercare. Let's just hope they have some size 8 under bump. My over bump ones are still too big and fall down.

minipie · 22/11/2014 20:48

Ah nipple leakage. I leaked/could squeeze out small beads of clear yellowy stuff (colostrum I presume?) from about 16/18 weeks last time. This time nothing yet at 21 weeks. Like others, I seem to have got drier during pregnancy, in that pre pg I could still squeeze out a bit of milk despite not bf for many months, but now can't. Glad to hear that's normal Bonjour!

daholster · 22/11/2014 22:48

Hi everyone, thanks for your comments about my stoma issue - I didn't expect any help but you have been brilliant - sympathy is very welcome and the bump band suggestions cinnamon and river rocks are a genius idea. I'll be getting one ASAP. I have called the hernia belt people to get measured but last time it took 8 weeks for them to arrive by which point I imagine it probably won't fit!!! They so some velcro ones though so maybe they will suggest one of those. In the meantime... Bump band!

squatting she is 19 months on the 27th. She'll be 2 on 27th April (dc2 is due on 14th April). She's a bright spark and we were going to try it just after Christmas but not sure she will be ready. She tells me about poos sometimes and seems to pull her nappy when it's wet sometimes... She knows where wee wee comes from. She's mostly dry after naps... But I think we need just a bit more warning to be able to try it. We have hard floors and were going to go down the route of just switching to knickers and keeping a beady eye. She won't like being in wet knickers or having it running down her legs and I think she'll soon work it out when we are brave enough to try it... I just need a few more signs that she is beginning to understand. I think at the moment it's more like a vague awareness about wee and poo and where it comes from...

Your dd shares a birthday with my ds1 daholster just a few years difference, he'll be 8 Sad this year. I've worked out the latest they'll let me go is 20th April so definitely no shared birthdays!

BrixtonBunny · 23/11/2014 07:45

Thanks for the boob reassurance everyone! Grin xx

Lauren82000 · 23/11/2014 08:20

Having a very dizzy morning this morning. Just had some porridge hoping that will sort it. Hmm

BananaToast · 23/11/2014 08:34

Take it easy today then Lauren.

Had a really uncomfortable night's sleep, think it's time to invest in a body pillow.

lila35 · 23/11/2014 09:36

My back has been sore this week but think I've been doing to much house sorting this week. Back to work with a bang tomorrow, next thing I'll know its xmas! Work is that bonkers.

Heres my current bump, funny how people you dont know very well anymore on fb think they can make refence to how big they think you are, I don't mind people I know saying it as we are having a giggle but otherwise tell me its fab and move on!

Lazy day at home watching the fall today, we missed the first season and its on I player. DP came off his bike in spectacular fashion yesterday and can barely move today. Looks like I'llebe looking after him!

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 23/11/2014 10:09

lila'what a beautiful bump!

DH and I have just finished the first season of a The Fall on boxsets on Sky. Wow wow wow it's good! Loved it especially with my psychology background!

mel don't be too hard on yourself with taking medication if you need too! or feeling down and not doing much. Mental health had such a stigma and we effects us all, we just don't talk about it enough. You're doing great x
