Sorry cinnamon, hopefully they are just erring on the side of caution. It can only be good to have more information. Will keep my fingers crossed for good news for you on Wednesday. Flowers

FreedomHuntress · 21/11/2014 18:07

Oh geeze, Cinnamon, how stressful. All hoping it is just to be on the safe side. What a wait though, Wednesday, argh. Thinking of you.

TinyTear · 21/11/2014 18:23

Cinnamon, I still do pull ups at night but she wakes up dry 99% of the time.

Fingers crossed the kidney thing isn't too bad, hope getting the detailed scan will help and make a plan of action

smogsville · 21/11/2014 18:47

Thinking of you cinnamon that must be really stressful. I hope it's just for extra info. Medical people can seem really serious without realising it at times. Sending a hug.

Wineandchoccy · 21/11/2014 18:53

cinnamon I will be keeping everything crossed on Wednesday for you and your little boy.

We have been looking at prams this afternoon and we have gone from liking the Mothercare Xpedior which is £199 to loving the silver cross pioneer which is £600, £850 including car seat and isofix, whoops!

wine if you liked the Xpedior I'd recommend a look at the Mamas and Papas Sola. I liked the shape of the Xpedior but it all felt a bit flimsy, I think the Sola is much better made - and far cheaper than the Pioneer.

littlesupersparks · 21/11/2014 19:48

Our Sola saw us through two boys! I used it ALOT. I was annoyed though as I felt a Bugaboo might have lasted me another child. Turns out we will need a double anyway so I guess we would have been annoyed if we had a pram that had a little life left in it too!!! X

nerdsgirl · 21/11/2014 19:55

Fingers crossed for you on Wednesday @cinnamon - i didnt take it as criticism at all, just wish family would listen, i have to push the thing about after all haha

cinnamon will cross my fingers for you. Hoping all will be fine Flowers

Dd took about 2 weeks to start staying under her blanket. We put her in a fleece suit with a vest underneath because she kept undoing the suit... And socks, which she took off for the first week! She soon realised she was warmer underneath it I think and now she's in normal bed time pyjamas again.

We haven't removed the cot sides yet. I know when we do she will just keep falling out... Got until April! Hoping to have potty trained by then too... Hmm...

Had lots of extra naps today (about 3 short ones) and feel better this evening. But the house feels like a tip again after relating dinner and getting some of the christmas boxes down to try to find the christmas cards to write Angry

daholster · 21/11/2014 22:11

By the way by blanket I mean cot quilt.

Thinking of you cinnamon. Hope everything works out.

TinyTear · 22/11/2014 08:16

About potty training wait until they are ready and tell you. My daughter asked and was interested and knew what she was doing when she was about 2y5m but still took a few accidents, especially poo ones...

Easier to keep the nappies and do it later...

I read in a book not to do it 3 months before a new baby or 3 months after... If too soon there might be regressions...

TinyTear · 22/11/2014 08:18

Squatting, my DD is end of Jan too but one year older than yours... Wait until the summer :-)

CherryLips1980 · 22/11/2014 08:27

cinnamon many, many good vibes for Wednesday. Hopefully they're just being overly cautious. I know there were a few things when I had DD which made me panic a bit immensely but turned out to be them just checking something out. Will be thinking of you Wednesday x

DD slept 9.30pm-8am! Longest ever I think. Sadly, DP and I did not, as the dog started being sick ( oneday, how is yours? Hope all is well). Touch wood, he seems OK now. So we've had about 4 hours max broken sleep. But we were awake to appreciate DD sleeping through [sigh]

Hope every one has a good day. My parents are up - not seen them since July and have a bit of a strained relationship with them. They're most put out DD isn't that fussed about seeing them 'well, doesn't she know who we are?' (I shit you not). Well, umm, no. She doesn't. They have bought her a rocking horse though, which she thinks is FAB-U-LOUS. Until you sit her on it. They are also put out by this 'but she sits on YOUR horse'. Not quite the same....

CherryLips1980 · 22/11/2014 08:31

Also oneday our dog is an utter turd on the lead unless I have DD in the pram, he then walks perfectly to heel as if he was trained from day 1 (he wasn't Blush ). It helps he knows that the pram a/ has 'his' baby in and b/ the underseat basket contains many, many dog treats.

I'm sure they are just being over cautious cinammon but stressful for you nonetheless. Keeping everything crossed for you

Sorry your dog is poorly too cherry He started antibiotics yesterday morning and slept most of he day. Touch wood we've had no more blood stained diarrhoea and he's running around this morning like his usual nutty self. Ours is brilliant off the lead and used to be a bit pully on the lead but since he's gone blind he keeps close to know where he's going and relies in our instructions for upcoming steps etc so walks much nicer! (A small silver lining to the blindness)

Parents can be funny beings eh?

kismac · 22/11/2014 09:50

I can't remember who it was by Which website have the MacLaren Volo as a best buy and it's only £79. You might be able to find it on offer somewhere.

Lauren82000 · 22/11/2014 10:09

Squatting I wouldn't push them to be potty trained too early. My sister drove us all mad asking her DD every 10mins if she needed a wee. She was only 18 months and they had problems with accidents in the day and at night for ages.

I bought a potty when DD was about 2&1/2 but just left it in sight so she got used to it. I'd already swapped her to cheap pull ups as they were cheaper and easier than struggling with nappies when she wanted to be off and she loved swim nappies that went up and down like pants. She gradually got more aware of it and we only asked her if she needed a wee before we left the house. Then one day we went for it and she was fine. We only got 2 accidents and one of those were at night. She was fully potty trained in just a month or two. Just before her 3rd birthday. But it was lead mainly by her. We were lucky and as soon as she was dry in the day, she was dry at night too. Got it really quick but she is a clever little monkey that picks things up quick anyway.

Just wanted to say I'm sure it'll be fine on Wednesday cinnamon and like others have said if it was more serious they would of had you in much sooner. Thanks

smogsville · 22/11/2014 10:29

Squatting - what Lauren said.

Kismac - last time I looked the Volo doesn't have a rain cover which makes it a slightly optimistic purchase in the UK!

The Globetrotter which we have is the next one up in the range (I think) and it's great but you can't put a sub six month old in it.

FreedomHuntress · 22/11/2014 10:57

We did 'potty training' from day one. I shit (hahaha) you not. Actually called Elimination Communication, if anyone wants to look it up. www.nappyfreebaby.co.uk/what-is-elimination-communication/
DS cruised over to use the potty by around six months. He was dry at night by 12 months. I did use nappies when out and about, until about 24 months, because I couldn't always get him to a toilet on time. Soon after that, he got better at giving me more notice about when he needed to go. Perhaps I was lucky. Some children are just naturally dry at night by 12 months, and out of nappies not long after. We also used cloth nappies, which lets them know that they have been, as opposed to disposables which wick away the moisture so efficiently (too efficiently, IMO) that a kid isn't as in tune with his body, so doesn't associate that peeing movement with being wet.
