Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 15th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2230396-Remember-Remember-JS-in-November-no-to-bum-fun-car-shagging-and-worms-Control-your-stray-wombles-and-windy-boobs-Shout-WANKBADGERS-at-the-world-of-TTC-and-get-your-cape-on-for-JUST-SHAGGING-32 here] in its 32nd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs [http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/postnatal_clubs/1472763-Just-Mumming-Along-viroids-2?pg=36&order= here] for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

fleur work may be flexible, but coming home to do feels every 2 or 3 hours? Does he realise how often you may need to feed???.

I'm up waiting for nursery furniture deliveries, no idea what time it'll all be here, but got 3 deliveries at some point today! :)

ZylaB · 20/11/2014 07:17

*feeds not feels doh

Leela5 · 20/11/2014 07:18

:) Lauren yes mine would live on pizza if dh was in charge!

Yes - I wake up 2am or 4am and, depending on the night, I either lie awake and pissed off or fall asleep. I feel ok this morning coz I went back to asleep at 3:30 after waking from 2. Yesterday though I couldn't and felt like shite all day. Not good. Hope you can rest a bit today

Leela5 · 20/11/2014 07:19

Yes and also that you can't control when baby might want feeding?

zyla that's exciting!
I'm off to a show in London today with work. Will be dull except my best mate is giving a talk so I get to see her :)

DulcetMoans · 20/11/2014 07:19

Congrats scoob! Excellent news! Hope you have managed a rest since then too. Can't wait to hear the story.

We haven't discussed the parental leave thing in detail but I wouldn't be against it. We do get some generous additional benefits though so not sure how it will work as he won't. Earnings-wise we are about the same but he works for a tiny company so less flexible. Sounds like you might have a battle on your hands there fleur!

7wks today people!

Leela5 · 20/11/2014 07:20

Yay dulcet! Is that the furthest along you've been?

DulcetMoans · 20/11/2014 07:40

Well technically yes but where first was MMC I thought I was further along than I was so still don't feel quite safe. But the amount my nipples hurt this morning I am fairly sure it's still there this time! It's like someone rubbing glass on them! Confused

Leela5 · 20/11/2014 07:41

Sorry if that came across as insensitive, I wanted to cheer along with you!

mountaingirl01 · 20/11/2014 07:41

Yay! Congrats scoob what a lovely name Flowers

Funnily enough dh hasn't even offered being a sahd I think he knows he couldn't hack it! He would actually be great but would go stir crazy

Leela5 · 20/11/2014 07:42

That's a good sign! Fx

I feel cut in half - got to wear trousers for work today and they hurt

Minion · 20/11/2014 07:48

Hoorah for scratchy nips dulcet, deffo good signs!

HungryHorace · 20/11/2014 07:55

Congratulations, Furry. Gorgeous name. And dinky too!

Yay, Dulcet, 7 weeks is great!

DH is completing my leave for me. It's a pay rise for him and total coincidence due to fluke that he qualified for it!

Leela5 · 20/11/2014 08:54

I've had to abandon the blouse I was meant to be wearing today because it was gaping at the boob. Only wore it 2 weeks ago and it was fine! It's funny, they don't feel bigger Smile

BothersomeB · 20/11/2014 08:57

Whoop whoop! Congrats Furry and Skyla Flowers - hope it all went smoothly and you've had some rest. What a lovely name too.xx

Dulcet - congrats on 7 weeks! I'll be hitting unchartered territory tomorrow at 8 weeks...cranking up the disco ball and wrapping pass the parcel ready for party time tomorrow! Cake

All those insomniac - yes, me too...restless,waking up every couple of hours for a wee, and MAD dreams...was at Kerry Katona's wedding the other night, and last night was carving my own water slides in rock...bloody knackering work given how I feel right now!

TheBooMonster · 20/11/2014 09:05

squee! contratulations scoob that was quite! I didn't even realise you'd gone back to the hospital! and what a gorgeous name!

DH spent most of his paternity leave (and subsequent non shift days) hiding in the study and doing anything to avoid parenting, he was 'writing a book' so it was totally insensitive of me to tell him to get his arse into gear and come change nappies, because this book would 'change our lives when it got published' needless to say he didn't actually write enough to even send to our friendly local publisher I'm not sure I'd trust him unsupervised with the baby as DD would end up feeding the baby because he'd forget, thus from the moment I went back to work both small folk would live on a steady diet of ginger biscuits O.o So whilst this shared parental leave thing sounds like a good idea it doesn't really take into account the fact that us women folk get on and deal with feeding and pooey nappies and the menfolk or at least mine are a bit scared...

Nessalina · 20/11/2014 09:09

I think the biggest issue there Fleur is feeding! If you're BFing then your employer must allow you time and privacy at work to express, but they're certainly not obliged to let you leave for 45min chunks 3-4 times a day to go home and feed! And that's assuming your LO is in a regular pattern by then! If they'll take a bottle, then there's no reason why you can't express and go back to work early, but it has to be something you both want.
My DH currently earns half what I do, but I'm still taking the full year - I've bloody well earned it and I want the quality time with my son! Although because DH is a supply teacher he wouldn't qualify for stat mat sharing in any case I don't think.

minimooo · 20/11/2014 09:18

Congrats scoob! Wonderful news to wake up to this morning. Hope you're both doing well and enjoying snuggles.

I'm a bit stuck about my mat leave... Basically, on a daily basis I am a freelancer, I run the office for dh's business and I'm doing my MA. So I think I've decided to defer a year from my MA, and take 3 months off of freelancing. But I have to keep working on the business (it's a limited company, we have an employee and it's service related so there's no turning it off for a few months unfortunately). I think I will try to have 2 weeks off straight after the birth, but then I think I'll have to go back. I do work from home though, so it's not that bad. I'd just have to try to time working during nap times etc. Not sure how it's all going to work in reality!

Yes yes to the waking at night and crazy dreams! I am finding it hard to drop back off to sleep when I wake up in the night. On the plus side, I'm reading loads of my book!

laurenamium · 20/11/2014 09:25

Mini when I was on mat leave with DD I finished my degree from home, just going in one day a week from when she was 6 weeks old. I found her bouncer chair invaluable for working from home at the laptop while she was awake. And I have photos of her asleep across my legs while I type above her...so not ideal but its doable to work from home early on. Or it was for me anyway, I know every baby is different DD never bloody slept

Pisghetti · 20/11/2014 09:50

Congratulations Scoob! Hope you and the little one are doing well.

DP is a contractor so his own boss. He's planning to take a couple of weeks paternity but will probably work from home some of that time as it'll be unpaid. At the moment the plan is that I'll take on the business admin while I'm on leave which will free up his time when he's not at work. Mini I totally read what you'd written as freeloader Shock glad I reread it to check! I'm planning to make a start on a Masters too however I can't afford to fully enrol until I'm back at work.

Back in work today - well sort of. I'm on a train so trying to pick up the patchy signal to work through emails, bloody tunnels Hmm

teejayem · 20/11/2014 10:05

Beyyooootiful name Scoob well done you, a million congrats :) xx

My Mat package is pretty good, I have 5 weeks of annual leave I need to take beforehand, then for Mat I get 13 weeks full pay, 13 week half+stat, and then 13 stat, then anything else up to the year is unpaid. I am aiming to work until the end of April, and then burn my 5 weeks of holiday to take me to my DD.
I earn a fraction more that Mr Tee, and he is super keen for me to SAH, which I am bought into, I just don't think we can afford it, although I might be being a total brat - I'm pretty sure we would manage, I just don't know how comfortably. I could probably do some freelance forecasting and web writing, and Mr Tee does a bit of private tuition sometimes, so we do have avenues. Ideally I'd be looking for something more local and part time as my season ticket to get my job now is nearly £4k and time I added childcare and bills, I'd barely be breaking if I went back. I've also seen a colleague not treated especially well when she came back from mat leave and requested flexible working, which I don't really want to go through.

We do have a little bit of money saved which were were going to use for our wedding which I'm going to use a bit of for Xmas and hopefully some baby bits, and after the uber-row the other night we've decided to sell some shares so we basically don't owe anything debt wise. I do feel a lot better about it than I did yesterday, to the point I'm back at my desk this morning with my Xmas planning in full swing. I am totally disengaged at work!!

ChatEnOeuf · 20/11/2014 10:06

Yay, congratulations Furry! Lovely name, can't wait to hear all about it :)

We're going to speak to DH's company about shared leave. Technically I'm not working so I won't get a dime, however he may be able to take some additional leave in the first six months, which will be lovely if so. Waiting and seeing.

Excellent news still having symptoms at 7w, Dulcet. I'm passing my nine-week milestone with a little hop. Bother great way to celebrate 8 weeks. La are you joining us too?

laurenamium · 20/11/2014 10:22

Loving all these big milestones.Grin

Does anyone sicky have any good ways to hold off the sick long enough to keep meds down? I'm currently waiting until I've just been sick, necking them quickly then doing breathing like I'm in labour...I don't know how long is long enough to hold it off for either Confused DP keeps pulling this Hmm face. Apparently the amount of sick is bothering him like he's the one cuddling the toilet

teejayem · 20/11/2014 10:27

I'm tentatively celebrating 12 weeks with a Greggs Apple Danish. Don't want to invoke doom, will be a lot happier after Monday's scan.

I don't know if it would help Lauren but I found self hypnotherapy really useful when I felt sick on the train. I used Andrew Johnstone's recordings, and it really helped refocus my brain on something other than my gag reflex. You can get them on the app store and youtube I think, just the relax ones were helpful xx

Leela5 · 20/11/2014 10:33

lauren have you tried dry biscuits/toast? My mum swore by them.

I'm 6 weeks on Saturday and lost mine at 7.5 weeks so little bit to go. Feeling positive though, I have just had to buy coffee to stop nausea on tube and I have permanent heavy womble feeling plus tingly boobs. My milestone is that scan on 3rd dec.

Delighted for all of you with your milestones. Positivity everyone! Grin We will be mummies in 2015!

Leela5 · 20/11/2014 10:41

My dh has shifts and is the boss so we are hoping to be able to shuffle stuff about to minimise days when LO will need to go to child care after my mat leave. I can do flexi one day a week to have day at home so if he can do 3 days at home then our dc will only have to go one day a week. Childcare costs fortune here!
