Good Morning Everyone. Its my first time posting here as I didn't know where to find these threads. So far, this site has been a godsend in helping me through the first 8 weeks with the sickness, nausea, headaches, crying, etc etc etc Hmm

By my own calculations, I'm due around 22nd June. I have my first MW appt this Friday. Had some holidays to use up so booked the day off so I don't have to go back to work afterwards.

Gr33dyeggs · 10/11/2014 09:16

I don't think there is an EPU. Its just Emergency gynae. I'm not good at pushing for things. The pains stopped overnight and haven't restarted (yet). And bleeding is no worse (yet). If anything changes I'll go, and probably to a different hospital (although they're all the same trust so probably same policies).

teeniedeenie34 · 10/11/2014 09:33

Morning ladies!

Gr33dy, I'm so sorry to hear about your upsetting and frustrating situation. I hope you can get a scan arranged soon.

I hope everyone is keeping well today. I had an awful nights sleep as my OH was constantly fidgeting and really restless which kept us both awake, so I am not going to be much use to anyone today.

We went out for another long walk yesterday afternoon which I love as I like to keep active and the fresh, crisp air is great this time of year. Problem is, I am finding when I get home and sit down to rest after any form of exercise my temperature is dropping, leaving me feeling chilled and it takes hours for me to warm up again. I've tried Dr Google but can't seem to find anything. It can't be blood sugar as I had a meal when we got back. Strange... has anyone else found/had this?

Oh no sunbathing poor you! I am almost sickness-free now at 10+4 and obviously panicking a bit but just so glad to feel human again! Managed some exercise over the weekend and have also got my sweet tooth back which is both good and bad!

I can't help with the cold thing teenie as I am always either too hot or cold never just right! It hasn't changed during pregnancy!

Good luck getting a scan gr33dy I hope you get some reassurance soon.

Anyone know if there are any outpatient options for severe morning sickness/ hyperemesis other than prochlorperazine tablets? I'm very sick & weak now & desperately don't want to be admitted if at all avoidable. Have need bed bound for a month now, vomiting 30 times a day with food & liquid plus horrific headaches this weekend. But don't think I'm clinically dehydrated yet just very ill & it's making my other health problems worse. Im 10 weeks tomorrow.

ChatEnOeuf · 10/11/2014 13:21

Tori I was the same with DD - vomited every time I touched oranges or juice...she wanted carbs, the heavier the better!

I'm still sickly and tired now too - DD is starting to ask me what's up when I don't have the bounds of energy I normally do. Don't like to lie to her, but she's not buying the 'mummy's just feeling a bit poorly right now' line. She wants to take me to the 'hostable' :)

Those with older kids - what have you told them and when?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 10/11/2014 13:22

Sorry you are feeling so poorly Hexy. It does sound like you probably need to be admitted if I'm honest.

ChatEnOeuf · 10/11/2014 13:22

Crosspost there, Hexy. My GP would prescribe cyclizine, worth asking yours?

MrsExtraOrdinary · 10/11/2014 13:26

Chat ive been really poorly too. Although feeling sick not being sick but I'm very aneamic, so fainting and facing to lie down a lot. I'm 9+4wks. We told our tribe last wks after a private 8 wk scan. I think it's easier since they've been told. They know I'm feeling shit and they know why. Poor mummy would you like a drink, hot water bottle, satsuma etc. Love them they are being very caring.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 10/11/2014 13:27

*having not facing, stupid autocorrect.

BingoBonkers · 10/11/2014 13:45

Oh Hex that's hardcore. I know you don't want to but I think consider being admitted. Sooner you go in the sooner you get out.

cuphat · 10/11/2014 13:54

Sorry you're going through that, hexy.

Don't google, sunbathing. That was the first bit of advice we were told at our antenatal class last time! Hope you're feeling better today - have the spasms stopped now?

WillowHouse · 10/11/2014 14:00

hexy i also have HG and there is a lot of drugs out there - different drugs work for different people. You may need to go to hospital to find the right combination. There is a HG support thread on here which i have found invaluable. Go to your GP if nothing else.

Chookford · 10/11/2014 14:40

hexy sorry you are having to deal with that, as others have said maybe a short admittance to hospital will sort you out.. But can completely understand why you wouldn't want too.

Our dd found out by eavesdropping on our conversation but it was after our first scan so even though it was not intentional I Wasnt as stressed as I would have been otherwise...

Wow Sunbathing! What a huge few months you have ahead of you. Don't worry about the hospital - I'm only a few miles from mine and didn't go for a tour before I went I to labour, so everything was new to me. Didn't have any negative impact at all.

Are you on fb? (Sorry - struggling to match names with pseudonyms!) are you moving near anyone else? You could have a read made buddy.

And Hexy I'm afraid I agree. I know admission sounds awful but it's important you find a solution. Big hugs from us.
