Just had a chat with Lucy5 and we decided that the old thread was getting too long and taking forever to load so here's a new one for all of us.

Hope everyone's well, nothing to report from me, everything's going smoothly still so far.

Not long now until we get the first of the birth announcements!!

Thanks for the tips, Olihan and Redlorry - love dried apricots (and have some in cupboard, dd has them in nuresry snack box occasionally) and will ask chemist for Spatone. Lactulose seems to help atm, but will line up fruit and nut in case!
I can't even imagine moving right now - my arms and legs, never mind a whole house-full - so hats off and loads of luck to you movers. May the force be with you
Carameli, try cold water on the back of your legs before lying down - works for me. I just tried napping and couldn't, though I can hardly keep my eyes open, as have restless everything: can't quite cope with cold all over shower though....

Redlorry75 · 10/10/2006 14:50

I really hate my boss and wish something really nasty would happen to him - he's even said he may need to call back again - despite me saying I am off to the medical centre - which is a lie, but still does he really think him calling me at home allows me to stay calm and rested! Cannot believe the w**ker. Will I get bad karma for such nasty thought to another human?

CR, I described what I saw to MW and she said that's what it was, but not to worry as it was only a tiny bit. It was basically (sorry for those who may be eating as they read this) very fiberous, yellow green mucus, very stretchy, bit like a nasty bogey.

Calmriver · 10/10/2006 14:53

Yes, had that a couple of times in the past few days..There is nothing dignified, don't worry..I think it only gets worse! Like when I had to get my pads changed by the midwives in my first night after C/S...shocking!!!

Gloria42 · 10/10/2006 15:21

Since it's my first (and is already being spoiled by grandparents!) i'm going for the mamas and papas interiors. Have picked Riverside furniture (dark wood) and Meadow design (cute animal characters). Can't wait to see what it'll look like.

Calmriver · 10/10/2006 15:50

Gloria-Sounds cool. I did animals with my first too. She is now mad about animals!...however her room has suddenly become quite pink and fairyish.

Having sausages and cheesy mash for dinner tonight....yummy...i cant wait

Calmriver · 10/10/2006 16:06

I am getting kicked really sore at the moment. DD is sliding around in my tummy, but feels really large all of a sudden and I contantly have lefgs, feet, arms, hands etc kicking all over at once. Feel like she is going to burst out under my ribs and in my pelvis at the same time.

judemum · 10/10/2006 16:19

My boy seems to get hiccups every night after dinner (poor thing- they feel v. violent!) and then have a real good fidget just as I'm going to bed. Felt sick reading about mucous plugs.

Gloria42 · 10/10/2006 16:24

cheesy mashed potato - YUM!

jabberwocky · 10/10/2006 16:41

Finally discovered about 2 days ago what getting kicked/punched in the cervix feels like.

Ouch!

Baretoes · 10/10/2006 17:02

Eliboo - I've had to take iron and I can 100% recommend liquid iron 'Floradix' - it's made from natural stuff - fruit and herbs etc, tastes ok and importantly NO CONSTIPATION!! You can get it in most chemists / health food shops. Much nicer than the chemical muck that's the alternative.

accessorizequeen · 10/10/2006 18:29

Gosh, it's getting busy again...My mw also recomme? nded spatone as my iron levels are pretty low, haven't found it yet so in the meantime I'm tucking into the gb 70% which I also dislike, the milk is so yummy. Have you tried the lindt 70, eliboo, it's less bitter than g&b?
RL, your boss is a prize twat, isn't he? I caught your other thread. Can you screen, use answerphone/messaging service or do you have callerid. Just not talk to him?? He's going to have to cope without you in a few weeks anyway, so surely he can do it now. I was feeling the stress at work today, my project has been put back AGAIN to launch on the week before I was planning to go on ml. So that gives me lots of time to sort any problems afterwards then & god forbid I'd have to leave early.
this is my 2nd (boy) so I do have all the clothes, well presumably as they're stuck in the garage & I have nowhere to put them. I just want to get started & fear if I don't paint in the next week I shan't be able to (dp says he won't help). Was thinking mid-blue walls, blue/red check or stripe curtains plus bunting so if DS1 decides he'd like to share with his little brother we can easily convert back to spare room. No idea what to buy for bean to sleep in, I'm not really a moses basket person. Really really wanted an amby nest, but I don't think it's within budget really,
I did yellow animals room for ds1, used those huge stickers & I still like them.
Milo much much nicer than ovaltine IMHO

jabberwocky · 10/10/2006 19:37

RL, sounds like an investment in caller ID would be a good idea!

As far as the nursery goes, we are still remodeling. Am crossing fingers that it's ready in time, even though lo will sleep in our room, I'd like to have the rocking chair, changing table, etc. set up in there. We are recycling ds's cowboys theme for the nursery Just don't have the time or energy to do a new theme.

Olihan · 10/10/2006 19:56

I'm very of all the new nurseries that are happening. Dc3 is going into the nursery that ds and dd have been in. It's yellow with jungle animals so it's pretty neutral. Poor thing won't have anything new. We've ordered bunk beds for ds and dd that will hopefully be arriving by the end of the week. We decided we wanted to get through any teething problems with them sharing well before dc3 arrives and the sleepless nights begin in earnest .

Haven't yet got down the box of newborn stuff from the loft. I still feel like I've got ages to go so I'm going to do it when the end feels a bit nearer. I'm anticipating being at least a week late again so there's no rush!!

jabberwocky · 10/10/2006 20:00

Don't envy us, olihan! It's more of a necessity than a luxury that we are doing a new nursery. Our upstairs is smaller than the downstairs and it would be soooo squished to have all 4 of us up. So, if it is done in time, all the bedrooms will be down, and the home office and extra room will be up - just the opposite of the way it is now, except we lose our "junk room" in the downstairs. that we have that anyway...

Calmriver · 10/10/2006 20:12

Hooray Jabber-this is what I meant months ago, the thumping of the cervix. Stops you in your steps...thats for sure!

I am getting it frequently now.

Hiccups, yes, about 4 times a day at the moment. My first was the same.Hiccuped all the time..I feel sorry for mine too. She seems to then get frustrated and wriggle until they stop. Probably another colicky bub then...really hoping not though!!!

Baconbaps · 10/10/2006 20:26

I can't have a nursery at all as DD1 is in other big bedroom and DD2 has boxroom. In fact, I'm not sure how it's going to work out when the baby eventually needs a room to go in because I'm fairly sure DDs will protest about sharing again but it's that or they'll have to leave home! Scary thing is they'll be about old enough to by then!! Anyway in my day there was four of us in one bedroom and I'm fairly sure my sisters and I shared a bed when I was tiny. Kids today eh? Don't know they're born

I have to say enjoy every minute of them while they're with you because, yes it's a cliche, but they do grow up so fast!! I can't believe my eldest daughter takes her GCSEs this year. Ignore me - I'm getting all nostalgic. I'm kind of pleased I'm having a new baby because I feel too young to be suffering from the empty nest syndrome just yet!

Redlorry75 · 10/10/2006 20:27

Well arse-face didl'nt call back, not that we were in! I have caller ID but because he is calling from a large corporation the numbers are'nt idntified and as I have a friend who shields her number I have no way of knowing who's calling.

Gloria I also had mash tonight, except mine had half a tub of butter in it (lick lips emoticon)

Going to see The Devil Wears Prada tomorrow and stuff my face with popcorn and ice cream

Eliboo · 10/10/2006 20:46

Oooh Jabber, yes. Mine doens't punch, she kicks - cervix and bladder, and it felt as though her feet were behind my pubic bone last night: is that possible?! Fun, eh.

Thanks for Floradix idea, I do like that stuff - brilliant thought till I get some spatone! Really not keen on the Ferrous Sulphate gp gave me...

Wondering if anyone else feels really out of breath now? My hb came back as 10.1, which isn't really low (though I started off at 14) and I'm worried taht it doesn't account for the extreme exhaustion, breathlessness, and general crap feeling after meals and/or any exertion whatsoever. I had to sit down after lifting a saucepan full of rice, fgs, tonight.
Admittedly, ahve been coughing at night for 10 nights, and still bit viral/coughing - and am short, with big baby in there - but still!

Eliboo · 10/10/2006 20:46

RL, really want to see that film - let us know how it is

jabberwocky · 10/10/2006 20:51

Definitely out of breath, elliboo. In fact, I have been for a while. I do have mild asthma, but it really feels more like squished lungs than anything else!

Redlorry75 · 10/10/2006 20:53

My bump changes position daily!!! But whehn standing on my pelvic floor I feel like I am about to go into labour right there and then.

Can I ask you all a personal question??

Olihan · 10/10/2006 20:56

Eliboo, I'm really breathless at the moment. We live in a 3 storey house and the nursery is right at the top. If I'm carrying dd up I have to stop on the middle floor for a rest. I think by this point everything, including lungs, is getting pretty squished up because of the baby. Has your gp listened to your chest, just to make sure your cold hasn't settled there? Hope you feel better soon.

RL, have you got an answerphone so that you can ignore any 'number with held' on caller ID and ask your friend just to leave a message? Sounds like your boss is a right pillock.

We also had mash with lots of butter (ds and dd need fat in their diet!!) for tea.........yum!!

Haven't had hiccups from baby yet but remember dd getting them a lot in the last few weeks, it used to stop me falling asleep. This one seems to stay in pretty much the same head down position and poke out various arms, legs, elbows, etc which makes my bump quite tender to touch. I'm making the most of it though. I really missed the 'company' after ds and dd were born and dh is insistent that this is the last baby.

Olihan · 10/10/2006 20:57

Rl, you can answer it, depends on HOW personal as to whether anyone will answer . Having said that, no one seems to have any shame on here anyway, we all seem to be pretty open about everything.

OP posts:
Baconbaps · 10/10/2006 20:58

Yes, I get breathless a lot. The bab somehow manages to have his/her bum shoved into my lungs whilst punching my cervix at the same time!

What's the question RL?

Redlorry75 · 10/10/2006 21:03

Here goes...Is anyone else suffering from really really heavy discharge, as in lots of it, not density?
