Exciting news for the bus... Announced on fb... Our latest bus baby!
Duescat has had a baby boy on 15/12 called Michael! More info to follow I'm sure!

Pesto11 · 17/12/2014 10:30

Aww congrats to deuscat
Exciting!!!!

Dec2013mummy · 17/12/2014 11:35

Yay that's so exciting :) ooh that's really got me excited. Not long ladies!
I had a horrendous pain in the night all the way down my side. No idea what that was. Tmi but today I keep getting a pain in my bum! It's really strange! Not contractions or anything though. I think I have jut overdone it the lasts few days with the party and Ds being ill. I haven't had much sleep and Ds has wanted to be hugged and carried (very unlike him)!

Ditto here Dec - DS has been really ill the last few days but has perked up now he's on ABs. He wanted me to carry him yesterday but he's enormous! (nearly 18kg - 3 yo!). Very thankful he's feeling better as meant I got to sleep last night.

Congrats deuscat !

We've just been putting baby's wardrobe together this morning (easy flat pack took over 2 hours) and I now keep getting all sorts of twinges from the front of my bump, cervix and back. Probably just baby moving and I'm reading too much in to the pains I think! But if you want yo come baby we are ready now!

Glad the little ones are getting better Dec & Calling!

Off to day unit again tomorrow for (hopefully) final monitoring and setting induction dates! Yay!

Ooh cheshire maybe it's the start of something.
cheshire sorry to hear that your Ds is poorly too. I did 8 loads of washing yesterday, it was sheer madness as Ds couldn't keep anything down, even water. Being so careful with anti backing everything, don't want germs around with a new born coming soon! It's horrible to see them so poorly isn't it. I hate it when you just can't do anything to make them better. Ds is a very chunky 14kg at 12 months... But he is very tall too. 99th percentile for everything. No idea where he gets it from! Think he has lost a lot if weight the last few days though. Everything's hanging off him!
I'm with all of you that have said about thinking into every twinge! I have to be the most impatient person out. I also like to be in control, so I hate not knowing when it's all going to kick off!

Elizadoesdolittle · 17/12/2014 15:43

I too am analysing every twinge/pain/movement. I hate not knowing. Am fine during the day but at night time my mind goes into over drive. Both my previous labours started in the early hours of the morning so am convinced this one will as well.

Pesto11 · 17/12/2014 17:27

Do contractions just suddenly come on?
I get quite sharp braxton hicks in the night.
Have to bite my lip/finger but then they go as quick as they came. So I know they're not the real thing ( although they are PAINful)

Do the first contractions come half hourly/hourly?
I know everyone is different.
Just wondering at what point would I call dh back from work.
Takes him half an hour to get home.

Glad to hear your children are feeling better now and on the mend : )

CallingAllEngels · 17/12/2014 17:41

DS is really tall too dec (gets it from DH - Dutch genes). I have to buy 4-5 year old trousers and T-shirts in the UK as he's already 104cm.

pesto with DS when my contractions started they were every 30 minutes and got closer together over the course of a few hours before I had to call mw ( I had a rather speedy labour though - 7 hours from 1st contraction to birth). But, everyone's different!

LittlePink · 17/12/2014 17:51

With dd I woke at 1am and was having contractions every 20 mins. I didn't wake dh right away. They were painful but not excruciating. I thought I'd wait to be sure rather than disturbing him. Then after another couple I woke him and said I don't think you should go to work today. As it was my labour stalled by 6am and the contractions went further apart not closer together. I'm sure the others who had a more normal labour will have better advice on what to do but i think you just know when to tell dh not to go to work or to come home. My dh works an hour away door to door in central London so it is a slight worry but I don't think anything major will happen in an hour after my track record but you never know! I just asked my neighbour if i could call on her in a desperate situation to take dd. My main concern is having contractions with dd here and it just being me and her until help arrives. I can't bear the thought of having contractions while she bugs me for snacks and makes general demands and clambers all over me!

LittlePink · 17/12/2014 17:52

And also the worry that she will be frightened seeing me in pain and not understand what's going on.

Nesspot · 17/12/2014 18:17

Thanks guys. Never got back to sleep last night/this morning but at least the horrible day in work is over and I'm home now. Smile Poor dogs will be getting a minimal walk tonight because I desperately need my bed!

Tried eating when I felt sick but didn't seem to make much difference. I'm beginning to think that the only thing that will help is getting this baby out of me!

So exciting that babies have started arriving. Knowing nothing about contractions, I can't really offer any advice. Im just hoping my waters don't break somewhere public! A friend of mine had her waters break when she was at the theatre! Nightmare!

Dec2013mummy · 17/12/2014 19:32

calling he does sound tall! Bet he is super cute though. I bet a lot of people think he is much older though which must be quite difficult sometimes.
I should be able to tell you what happened labor wise but my memory is shot! I just remember then happening every now and again and then timing 5 mins apart and going from hospital. I was contracting all day but only called Dh at about 3pm as they didn't seem too much. I went to hospital at midnight and had Ds the following afternoon. Because Ds was back to back I had pure back labor so don't really know what to expect this time. Only time will tell I suppose. I hate all the unknown. It really puts me on edge. I normally like my routine and to have a plan. One thing I learnt with Ds's labor was that you can plan all you like but if doesn't always go to plan. I do think it's important to have an idea of what you want though and for your birth partner to be aware of what you want. There are a few things that during labor I just said yer ok whatever and Dh stepped in and asked if it was what I really wanted and to think how o would feel afterwards. It's true. I was so glad he said it because I would have been mortified after if I had known it had happened.

So I'm supposed to know this time around aren't i? Truth is I don't. I had a severe pain last night all down the right side if my bump, have been having period pains and been achey all day, have pains in my bum every so often and generally feel rubbish. Problem is I think I'm just exhausted, but the thought that this may happen for weeks now, makes me want to cry. I don't think it is 'it' but I am starting to question. Bit then if it's not I'm going to be really disappointed. Sorry for the rant, feeling so teary and want to sleep but can't :(

Wow - Engels - my boy is the complete opposite: 2.8 and while he's mainly moved on to 2yo clothes there are a few 18-24 month items still hanging round!

It's very economical, I must say!

Dec2013mummy · 18/12/2014 06:40

Morning all. Thanks for the sympathy last night. I was feeling very sorry for myself. I had a brilliant nights sleep in the end (although I kept having strange dreams, all of which included stomach pains) so must have carried on through the night. I feel like I have had a full workout. Bump is still very tight and aches a lot. Will just have to wait and see what happens!
I'm so proud of Ds. He had a brill nights sleep too. Best for ages. Must have known I needed it and Dh was so lovely, despite having a migraine he did everything for me. Love him so much.
mad I'm so glad I'm not the only one that feels like a clueless second timer!
henrietta our boys could probably do clothes swaps! Ds is in 12-18 months at least in everything. Most things are now 18-24 and some are 2+. It's crazy how shops differ so much in their sizes!
Talking of clothes, why do shops always have 3 x as many girls clothes as boys? Has always baffled me! Saying that, I could buy Matalan out at the minute. So much cute stuff.

cheshirem2b · 18/12/2014 07:00

38 weeks today! High fives to Kate!
Got my assessment at the day unit again today - scan, fluid check, monitoring and then consultant apt and hopefully induction date! DH can't come (he's self-employed & it's the end of term so needs to fit the work in) so my mum is coming with me.
Hope everyone has a good day here!

Jealous of swimming. I love swimming but only ever seem to go when I take DD1 to her swimming lessons which isn't quite the same! With my first pregnancy I used to go to aqua natal and pregnancy pilates once a week. Then with 2nd I did pregnancy pilates but have done b all with this one. Still I guess running around after 2 kids is exercise enough!

This question has probably been asked loads but how do I go about joining the fb group? cheers.

KateTheHuman · 18/12/2014 15:17

I'll message you Eliza ??

Got an induction date for 1st Jan! Boo! Having been told I'd need a date between 38-39w due to raised fluid that has resolved and back to normal so need got an early date. I'm pleased because it means baby is doing really well but I'm disappointed because I'd got excited for a pre-Christmas baby!
I'm back in the day unit next week on Christmas Eve for monitoring and (if cervix is favourable) a sweep and then if that doesn't work I'll be induced on 1st Jan!
