Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
emzickle · 11/10/2006 19:56

hi
its my due date today, just thought I'd come and say hello as still no baby, or established labour.

Had a really odd night last night, felt really scared, was laying in bed, adrenalin rushing through me, had to get DP to hold me tight til I fell asleep.

Today been very tired - having some tightenings that are hurting, period type gripping pains, but not lasting long or coming regularly. Just braxtons i think.

Hope all you other ladies are getting on ok - good luck

x

majormoo · 11/10/2006 20:01

Luboo I don't think you are being over emotional at all. It is horrible being stuck on your own-he needs a stern talking to I think!

Goodluck JMC and Totally

Nic2-hope all gets sorted with your nan soon

Gingeme · 11/10/2006 21:56

Hi ladies. Good luck to jmc and totaly. Think were gonna have some more babies to add to our pre natal list tomm. Oh totaly let me know how your home birth goes. I so want one now. Makes total sense now. Mum got me a massive plastic sheet thing at the weekend. Meant to be used for decorating. Im going to buy some raspberry leaf tea tomm and some arnica. Do they sell it in Holland and Barrett does anyone know? Well off to bed now for what its worth Night all xxxx

luboo · 12/10/2006 08:28

Hi Gingeme, they do sell raspberry leaf in Holland and Barrett - tablets and tea. Not sure about the arnica...

DogMum · 12/10/2006 08:32

Wuzzle - I'm totally confused on the clicking. I hope she gets some useful answers from somewhere.

Hope all the births in progress are progressing well, thinking of jmc and totally (still nothing happening here!)

Luboo, I really feel for you not getting the support you need from your DH. Unfortunately, it's not just us. It's an emotional, if not terrrifying time for the men as well. Have you thought about asking him how he feels about things and why he needs to be out all the time? Then you could tell him how it makes you feel. He's being really insensitive, but it could be just a coping mechanism. Hope he improves soon.

Blimey Emily, you're keen. I haven't even considered any of those things yet (especially sex!) and I'm 39 weeks.

whiffy · 12/10/2006 10:05

gingeme - H&B sell arnica but not at strong enough dose - you need 200 and can't just 'double-up' the lower 30c dose. best option is to phone that helios no and get them to post out first class.

Gingeme · 12/10/2006 11:26

Thanks whiffy though Im gonna ask my aunty. She uses alot of homeopathy remedies and shes gonna see if she can get me some. Cant believ what a good night sleep I had last night. Though it was disturbed by the usual wanting a wee and my ds had a nightmare about 3am I actualy slept in between. Baby has definately moved down a bit more now too so my heartburn is easing off. All good signs that things are progressing nicely. Hope all you ladies are well. And hope were going to hear of a couple more births soon. xxx

emmy01 · 12/10/2006 11:56

Hi ladies thanks for the words of support, def not reading papers anymore ! looking good on accom front looking at a place today available fully furnished ect so hopefully will have a place to go and 'nest' soon.

Luboo - sounds like you need a big hug and a lot of tlc, well I'm sending one to you. men can be a bit insensitive at times can't they. have you tried to tell him how you feel? (sorry if thats a stupid question).

Good luck to all our girls who have had the 'signs' things are moving on! and congrats to all that have made it already cant wait for an update we must have some babies today.

even though my situation is a bit tricky I cant wait to have the baby now I'm so uncomfy and impatient plus got my first strech marks today round my bump, gutted. 10 days to go till due date and I get them!

come on babies lets be having you !!

youngmum21 · 12/10/2006 12:03

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all well?
Has anyone got thread veins on their legs have got some on mine just wanted to know if they go after pregnacy or if there any thing i can do to reduce them???
Emmy- you have done well if you only just got a few strech marks my bum is coverd in them and has been for months!!!!

emmy01 · 12/10/2006 12:11

Hi forgot to mention I have had this strange clicking noise as well, its not me because I am not moving and my hubby can hear it as well it is def coming from the bump area wether it is babys head pushing the pelvis bones of little fulid pockets poping I dont know.... its not painful and its quite a light click type noise sort of like a snap. you can feel it sort of just before it happens a bit like when you snap your fingers. I would love to know what this is. I have had pds as well so I dont know if its linked to that.

emmy01 · 12/10/2006 12:25

young mum - oh no stretch marks are such a bugger oh well guess they are our war wounds as such! thread veins are caused by the excess blood going around and the capilaries in your skin dilating to much and leaking from high volume of blood they may go away as blood flow reduces if not they can be treated by a qualified ( nvq 3 )beauty therapist using an epilation needle and electric current ( like the electolsis hair removal) the tiny leakes are quartrised and the leak is sealed, I must stress go to a good reputable salon and get a full free consultation first any reputable place will offer you this and make sure you are happy with them. I am a therapist but not qualified to carry out this treatment yet but I have seen it done and it is very good we use it on people who have thread veins on legs, on their cheeks etc you can feel it and there are some contraindications so a full consultation is important.

clon · 12/10/2006 12:32

Hello all

I too have had the best sleep for ages - didn't wake until 11 this morning - bliss!!!
The last week I have been cleaning for England to get rid of all the dust created by the building work and finally finished yesterday so I think the sleep was a sign of my exhaustion and relief at finally feeling I can bring a baby back to the house now!
Absolutely no signs of my LO wanting to come out early yet so I'm going to use these next days enjoying just relaxing.
Good luck to all those due now and having signs.
jmc - thinking of you today, hope your FIL gets a good goodbye and it's not too hard for you and your dh.

youngmum21 · 12/10/2006 12:35

Thanks emmy that was really helpful the things us women have to go thru in pegnancy hey. i use to think before i got pg that i wudnt get any strech marks but i did and now thread veins on my legs are really getting me down and am feeling quite upset about how my body will look after is anyone else feeling like this???

Sorry for the moan!!!

nicand2 · 12/10/2006 13:16

Just got back from the hospital. Just after my posting yesterday my vision went funny as if the sun was shining in one eye. I phoned the DAU and they told me to have a drink of water and lie down for 30 mins, I was just phoning my mum and my hand went all numb and I couldn't feel the buttons so I really panicked. Luckily DH was around and took me dropped me off at the hospital. I really thought I would be monitored and then sent home but the trace showed I was having contractions and the babies heartbeat was dipping which indicated labour so I got admitted for the night. Nothing else happened though and theylet me home earlier. i feel a bit dissapointed beacuse I haven't come home with a baby though, i kept hearing them all night and wishing I could have mine.

I didn't even get much rest as they woke me at 6.30 to check my blood pressure and I couldn't get back to sleep.

On the plus side I've given my hospital bag a trial run which was lucky as I'd forgotton a few essentials!!

emmy01 · 12/10/2006 13:50

younge mum - I feel the same, before I was pg I was a size 16 anyway so was not happy about my body but I excepted and enjoyed what I had, now my H cup boobs are a k cup and growing I have strech marks on my tummy staring and god knows what kind of stretching is going to go on 'down south' during birth I will be left all 'loose' acording to all the wonderful stories I am being told. I have been lucky and havent put on extra weight (other than baby, fluid etc) I think this is because I had so much extra weight on me anyway baby has used that up as I have atually lost little weight and got thiner in areas( I have been eating normally and healthly not dieting, just not eating for 2). but it does worry me I phoned dh today, upset to 'warn' him I have discovered stretch marks and will he still love me with a big wrinkley tummy. I feel at 24 I have changed so much bodywise since I met him when I was 16 I was perfect size 10 then and now he has a size 16 ,I'm now a flabby wrinkley 'loose' 24 year old with spots. not what he signed up for I'm sure. I guess I just feel insecure I wish I looked Like those celeb mums but hey i dont so I am going to get on with whats important being the best mum I can be to my baby and teach it to vaule what they have got and that perfect isnt always what it seems.

My dh said to me he loves me no matter what and offered to rub cream on my strech marks tonight if it made me feel better, at which point I cried because I realised That he loves me more than I knew and I felt bad for thinking myappearence would change what we have after 7 years.

Younge mum be strong we are all beautiful in our own ways and things are changing we will have to except that there is not much we can do now just be positive and think of the wonderful baby you will have at the end it will be worth all the lines etc when they look at you the moment they are born they love you no matter what you look like and you will be their mum who they will love unconditionally forever.

nowanearlyNicemum · 12/10/2006 14:11

jmc - just wanted to let you know i'm thinking about you today. hope you and your dh are doing ok.

wuzzlefraggle · 12/10/2006 14:11

right ladies, ive got what could be the explination for the clicking noises... nataliejane told me that one of the other mners on here has posted saying that its the baby sucking on the back of its hand and that the clicking is when the suction is lost which seems to cause the baby to hiccup aswell.

catgirl · 12/10/2006 17:36

jmc - just to let you know that my thoughts are with you today - hope it goes as well as it can.

On a more frivelous note, just back from John Lewis, where I bought my nursing bras - fab lady who fitted me, so I treated myself to a lovely lacy, Elle McPherson one as well as a normal one and a night time which is like a sports bra and very very comfy.

Just had a lovely 2 hour nap ? this is the life! Tried to post earlier, but wouldn?t let me for some reason ?anyone else have problems?

Looking forward to checking later if anyone has any new arrival news!

luboo · 12/10/2006 18:06

Thanks, Dogmum. I have asked him and he just says he needs to have his own life and can't be expected to be here 24 hours a day! I hope he srts his act out once it's born or something tells me I'll be staying at my mums a lot.

luboo · 12/10/2006 18:16

Nicand2 hope you are ok now. Sorry to hear about your funny vision. I have had exactly the same thing on four separate occasions in the last 3 weeks. The doctor told me it was a migraine due to the hrmone levels. It's frightening tho' isn't it? I couldn't speak with mine.

emzickle · 12/10/2006 18:32

hi - can i have some asdvice please?

last night went to bed, at just past 9 contractions started to become so painful i had to really concentrate to get through them.

had them all night, got excrutiating, at 3 am i started using the tens - rubbish me thinks at 4pm and it hirled itself down the stairs.

had a hot bath at 8 am, contractions pre bath were every 6-9 mins lasting 40 - 60 seconds. after bath the CXs pettered out for a few hours, now they are back again since 12 lunch time, every 8-9 mins, got my Mama tens on again - turned up to level 6!

i saw the MW this morning, she didnt give me a VE as apparently i didnt look like some one in labour, fucking help me girls, if last night wasnt the beginning of labour, i cant cope,

wuzzlefraggle · 12/10/2006 18:34

catgirl - yeah i had some problems posting on here this afternoon too.

luboo - im so sorry to hear about your dhs lack of support at the moment. i dont think that men really know how to act about it all half of the time. i dont think it feels quite as real to them as it does to us untill the baby is actually being born. is he going to be your birthing partner?

wuzzlefraggle · 12/10/2006 18:37

sorry emzicle, crossed posts with you.

dont know what to suggest really as this is my first time. If it helps at all, it certainly sounds like this is the start for you...have you phoned the hospital too?

emzickle · 12/10/2006 19:01

im booked for a home birth, but just felt totally deflated when left the MW, like all of last night was for nothing. im exhausted and in so much pain

emzickle · 12/10/2006 19:29

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh help
