Workfree- this thread has another 18 days till it ends. A lot can happen in 18 days! Chin up. xxx

Sazhoopz · 12/11/2014 11:22

Still a big fat nothing happening here, which is a good thing as my Dad & Step Mum look after my step-niece on a Wednesday and they are our child care when things do kick off.

On the back of having a good night sleep I've decided to start the Christmas Cake, also as fruits have to soak overnight which might sod law something to happen!

Cat - I was thinking we will probably hit the magic 1000 messages number first.

Bloody hell this weather is awful. Massive downpour a moment ago which has ruined any plans I had of venturing out for a walk.

Thehedgehogsong · 12/11/2014 11:40

I hope the thread doesn't end in 18 days :( just be me here on my own haha! Unless baby comes on time, I might be having a Dec baby as my due date is so late in Nov!

Dizzylizzie29 · 12/11/2014 11:43

Nothing here -39 weeks tomorrow. Finish work on Friday and cannot wait. Incredibly emotional and crying at everything, dd is also poorly so getting zero sleep. X

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 12/11/2014 11:47

Morning all fed up with pelvic n back pain had final midwife appointment yesterday will be 38weeks tomorrow and baby is 3/5 engaged n I have a small pelvis hence the pain. Ds1 never did get that far he was transverse throughout still as laid back at 4yrs old!!

Hospital next week and c section date in site.

Had hair cut this morning great cut New hairdresser local to where I live has a home salon but must smoke as brought the smell away with me so all washed n changed n sadly won't go back because of the smoke.

Going to meet husband for lunch soon and he has half day as got ds parents evening after school.

Thisisimpossible · 12/11/2014 12:22

Nothing happening here either. After two false alarms with proper contraction type things for hours on end over the last 10 days I'm throwing all my toys out of the pram and giving up symptom spotting. I think due dates should be banned! Mine is causing me more stress than the 2 week wait. 40 weeks on Friday, next MW appt on Friday too. Trying to appreciate my last days of peace and quiet but to be honest I'm so bored and so uncomfortable I'm struggling to appreciate it. Hugs to all those of you in the same situation, and good luck to those of you lucky girls for whom things are kicking off. Smile

ladydolly · 12/11/2014 12:49

Waited over an hour for my 41 week MW appt which included 2 checks in with reception and a fire drill only to find my apt in tomorrow. Incredibly annoying. She did say she probably won't do a sweep if her head a not engaged anyway so will just be usual checks anyway.

Another lash extension apt this afternoon, vanity means I'm trying to keep them going for when the baby first arrives. If she ever arrives...

catg83 · 12/11/2014 13:07

Thehedgehogsong and workfree wannabee- promise not to desert you! I didn't know the thread closed at 1000 posts.

My EDD is tomorrow and up until now I have had a few texts and phone calls and emails checking up on me. Today I have been inundated! I have written a standard reply and am just copying and pasting it into text/whatsapp/email. Actually finding it funny today. Might not be so funny when the hormones swing! Wink

Thisisimpossible · 12/11/2014 13:13

Don't worry, we'll just have to start another thread!

Petal26 · 12/11/2014 13:41

cat my wriggler has moved from being back to back to round to the left as well Smile
saz, my due date buddy, I wonder which one of us is going to go first?!

Period type pains and lower back ache for the last couple of hours. Just dropped DD at the MIL, got an hour of book reading time before a beauty special offer of 3 treatments for £25 at my hairdressers, might as well get my nails done. Well deserved today after DD strolled into the bedroom at 5 am wide awake!

So turns out the show did mean something... Started with contractions (well period pain) 20 mins apart at about 8 last night. By 11.30pm they were 6-7 mins apart and was recommended to have a bath. Well the bath ramped contractions up to 2-3 mins apart and at 4.30am we went to hospital.

Didn't make it to the birth centre as they were concerned about the amount of blood in my show, but in triage was found to be 8cm dilated. Couldn't believe it!! Managed to carry on with only tens, couldn't get gas and air to fit in with breathing.

Needed a little help pushing as her heart rate dipped, so had ventouse for the last little bit. She came out stargazing- little tinker had turned herself around to back to back at some point. Needed a cut to get her out but it certainly is true you don't care by then.

Anyway Eliza was born just before 9 this morning and goes without saying we're smitten already. Did think it was a boy but overjoyed with our girl!! Going on 30 hrs without sleep, think the endorphins will start to flag soon... No room on ward so still in the birthing room. Hoping that might mean we get to go home tonight...

Thehedgehogsong · 12/11/2014 14:21

Wow congratulations Moggle! Wonderful news!!

Ladies who have had their babies, can you describe early contractions like Moggle has?

amy83firsttimer · 12/11/2014 14:24

moggle congratulations!

Hope you get to come home soon, how are you feeling after that? Is Eliza your first?

Yes she is our first, conceived with IVF after 2.5 yrs TTC. A fair few tears shed this morning :-)
Feeling tired but euphoric. She fed for about three hours straight after birth, poor DH had to wait ages for a proper long cuddle! Now she's asleep on my chest. Know I should probably put her in the cot and try to snooze but I can't imagine with all the sleep deprivation I'm going to have, that I'll regret these few hours of newborn cuddles :-)

Sazhoopz · 12/11/2014 14:38

Woo another baby! Congrats moggle

Petal Is it possible to call shotgun on going into labour? If so SHOTGUN!! Although I'm still convinced this one is going to be 10 days late like his brother

Annarose2014 · 12/11/2014 14:54

Congrats moggle!

Little lad arrived 10.30 last night. Hard labour. Thank god for epidurals! Back to back & wasn't progressing despite contractions every 5 mins since morning lasting over a minute. So no time to regroup in between. TENS didn't work as had no back pain, G&A didn't take edge off & made me feel sick, bath was amazing for pain but I fainted in the heat! So by 2pm was sobbing through each contraction & begging for epidural.

Epidural was like magic, put on drip to speed up dilation but because of epidural it didn't feel at all troublesome. So got to 10 cm by about 8pm fairly calmly but baby was back to back & not budging. So had to push for an hour & got him half turned but eventually it was ventouse & episiotomy (which again I didn't feel cos of amazing epidural).

So a long hard slog but baby is 9lbs & totally chilled & a massive boob monster & I'm being discharged already! Feel so so lucky. Won't be on for another day or two cos of feeding etc but best of luck to everyone!

amy83firsttimer · 12/11/2014 15:12

Yay for you and your boy Annarose2014!

Wow had a nap and come back to find 2 New babies! Huge congrats annarose and moggle!

Cat & petal also success so far on the back to back situation, the baby was the right way round at yesterday's appointment but how long he/she stays that way for is another story!

moggle · 12/11/2014 15:26

haventgotaclue1 · 12/11/2014 15:48

Just had a look at one of the due date lists....Utopian we're due on the same day Smile - what do you reckon are our chances of next Tuesday?!

Strawberryfield12 · 12/11/2014 15:48

Congratulations Moggle and Annarose! Two babies per day on the thread!! Yay!

Last night suddenly the bump felt so tight and baby so crowded, it was the first time it came to my mind that I might as well look forward the birth if this is how it's going to be from now on. Before I was having thoughts like "Oh, she could let me finish off knitting her all-in-one" or "Would be good to make to Xmas fair on the weekend" etc.
I would love to be back from hospital with the baby before DH birthday day before EDD, but I am ready to go along with the events.
