Yay! Many congratulations Blamber Thanks.

Had another pretty rubbish night's sleep - up every 2 hours (on the dot) and it is just SO painful to get out of bed with a full bladder, achy hips, sore back etc etc....and to top it off I felt pretty sick in the middle of the night too...

Moan over - feeling much more perky now and just done something productive (wrapped up a few Christmas presents), so now time for Brew and Cake!

amy83firsttimer · 11/11/2014 09:48

Congratulations blamber!!!

40+1 here and feeling better than yesterday tbh. Yesterday evening was horrible. There were tears aplenty for no reason and then some worrying googling about a funny lump I've developed on my foo and an early night. DH being usual lovely him but I'm just done with it now. Roll on Thursday for sweep and hopefully some reassurance from mw about lump.

Congrats blamber! I have all these Miracle Swaddles etc ready for baby but I'm sure they'll make damn all difference. Will try anything though!

Soooooo.......my waters just broke! Grin

Was dozing in bed when I did what I thought was a fanny fart Blush but then GUUUUSHHHH!!!

Luckily I was able to haul myself out of bed before anything other than my pyjamas were destroyed. Have gone through two pads in the past twenty minutes and having a strong contraction right now. Not too bad yet though.

Question: Can I still have my shower? Cos I feel manky after that - it ran all down my legs and everything!

Or are showers a no-go now, like baths?

Getyourflipflopson · 11/11/2014 10:00

Ooohh, good luck Annarose! I would have a quick shower myself, just don't point the shower head upwards Grin

pinkgirlythoughts · 11/11/2014 10:02

Woohoo, so glad something's happening for you, Anna! I think showers, and baths, are still fine- when I phoned the maternity ward to tell them my waters had broken and I was contracting with DS, the advice was to have a paracetamol and a warm bath, then ring them back in an hour. Ring your ward if you're unsure, they'll tell you what's best to do.

Thisisimpossible · 11/11/2014 10:11

Congratulations Blamber! That's fab news! And ooooh, how exciting Annarose! Hooray!!

amy83firsttimer · 11/11/2014 10:16

Annarose2014 shower definitely fine. So glad something's happening for you!

How exciting Anna!!! Good luck and keep us posted! Grin

Annarose2014 · 11/11/2014 10:16

Don't think I'll have time for a shower - contractjons every five minutes! They're mild and only last seconds at a time, but we should probably go over soon just in case.

Just stood up and gushed all over the kitchen floor! Blush

utopian99 · 11/11/2014 10:25

Congratulations blamber and hurray Anna - a nice obvious start to things, that's what I'd like! Not yet though, too much work still. FIL seems oblivious to the situation he's put me in by passing this job on and was asking yesterday whether I'd "had any twinges" in the same breath as saying "well I'd better let you get back to the drawings"! Hmm

Greenstone · 11/11/2014 10:36

Omg how exciting Anna. Bring loads of pads to hospital. Once my contractions started after waters breaking they were mild but very regular and definitely doing something Smile the fluid is clear yes?

WorkFreeWannabe · 11/11/2014 10:40

Bloody 'eck Anna! Checked the thread half hour ago and came back to this! Brilliant news

Congratulations Blamber Thanks

Friends and family are currently running a sweepstake on when I'll deliver. Nothing like a bit of added pressure and calls for daily update. Most assumed last week, so they've already 'lost'

Had a few contractions last night but nowhere near as strong as last Friday's. Maybe the hot bath I had beforehand slowed things down.

Happy - thanks for the advice. I'm about as ready as I can be with the major stuff. Everything else can wait!
I'm glad that we moved about a year ago and no one has really been to our house, so hopefully we shouldn't get too many unannounced visitors unless SIL brings them as they'll need at least the postcode first.

catg83 · 11/11/2014 10:41

Congratulations Blamber WineThanksWine hope the nights get a bit better

Anna- how exciting. Good luck. Thinking of you.

Thehedgehogsong · 11/11/2014 10:41

Good luck Anna!! So exciting!

Nothing to report here except excessive frustration at all involved in our moving house, and an occasional trickle still happening, with no increase in contractions. Bored!

ToniWol · 11/11/2014 10:42

Congratulations Blamber.

Exciting news Anna.

Thought something might be starting here when I woke at quarter to five with back ache and couldn't get back to sleep. But things seem to have eased off, although now have hip ache so am planning on having a bath.

ladydolly · 11/11/2014 10:44

Congratulations blamber!!!

To those feeling sick, me too, it seems to coincide with the really strong BH I have in the evenings, when they wear off I feel sick all night and into the morning.

Today I've got new aches in my bump, low on the right and high on the left, they feel like a stitch, no idea what they could be.

41 week appt tomorrow, if they offer a sweep is there any point when the head isn't down and I've not had a show?

Swimming hasn't done the trick so I think I'll do a long walk later today. I'm still happy to wait but I think dp is getting more and more anxious the longer we wait bless him.

Annarose2014 · 11/11/2014 10:52

Every 5 mind for 15 secs. Fluid clear. Going now!

Dizzylizzie29 · 11/11/2014 10:52

Go Anna! All the best with your labour!
I'm at work, started the day with full period pain in lower stomach and back-popped some painkillers and having tighteniNgs-don't think it's anything just my body preparing but I just want to go home and go to bed! 38+5 today and had enough Confused

ladydolly · 11/11/2014 10:58

Woo Anna!!! Good luck, can't wait to hear your news!!!

TwigletFiend · 11/11/2014 11:38

How exciting! Congratulations blamber and best of luck Anna!! Fingers crossed for you Grin

catg83 · 11/11/2014 11:49

Morning spent taking very light cardboard to the tip and making a very big batch of gingerbread syrup for coffee. My purse cannot afford my starbucks obsession at this time of year!

Strawberryfield12 · 11/11/2014 11:52

Congratulations Blamber!

Anna so happy for you! Told you that baby will eventually come out anyway! Grin

WorkFreeWannabe · 11/11/2014 13:21

Catg, please share your recipe for the syrup. I absolutely love a Gingerbread latte. My guilty christmas treat.

Off to wander the shops in town and start my Christmas shopping today as DH has the afternoon off. Let's hope Sod's law works as well be miles from home.

catg83 · 11/11/2014 13:29

Workfreewannabee- 3 cups of water, 3 cups of sugar, 5 tsp ground ginger, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp vanilla extract. Bring it to the boil and simmer for about 20 mins. Leave it to cool and then I keep it in an old jam jar in the fridge. Makes loads!

WorkFreeWannabe · 11/11/2014 13:31

Thank you CatThanks
First recipe where I've got all the ingredients in the cupboard. Will get on that tomorrow!
