X posts Daholster, looks like a lively bump to me!!

And minstrelle, when I did antenatal yoga my instructor was quite happy for people to leave for the loo at any point and actually paused before starting the relaxation to allow for a loo break :)

kismac · 29/10/2014 10:37

Daholster, you have a lovely bump. Good luck for your upcoming exam.

Thanks cinnamon, seeing consultant as they think I'll probably be high risk (neurological condition) but hope I get sent back to midwife as she was fab. Very 'it's your body, so you call the
shots'. Which was brilliant cause im a total push over.

Feels like it's all getting very real and time is flying with all the upcoming appointments and scans.

Siarie · 29/10/2014 10:53

I expect it depends on your frame daholster as I find top shop is all too short. I'm like 5'10 and a size 10 on top and 12 bottoms although I've lost loads of weight so maybe smaller now. But it's my legs they are where most of my height is lol

Lauren82000 · 29/10/2014 12:11

Kismac I'm not sure about the consultant appointment being your 16w appointment. I'm going to the consultant next Tuesday but at my booking appointment the mw stressed that I have to make an appointment for 16w. Then in the next breath said consultants usually ask for you at 16 weeks too. It just so happens the mw does clinic on Wednesdays so I'm going to the hospital on Tuesday and the mw on Wednesday. Not sure if I've done the right thing but they should of made it clearer what they expected me to do. I feel your confusion.

minipie · 29/10/2014 12:54

Hi ladies

kismac I've just had midwife appointment for 16 weeks (yesterday) and consultant appointment this morning. Definitely different! I had to book the midwife appt myself I think, but the consultant one came in the post.

However the consultant says she doesn't need to see me again so I'm back to the midwives, yay. And - massive yay - they think the reason DD was prem was an infection so unlikely to happen again.

I love maternity clothes, so comfy Smile - I have bought some fab Jojo cords, on the other hand I also bought some Jojo maternity tights (black opaques) and they are awful! They keep falling down, I don't have that problem with any of my other maternity tights (Boots I think?) so I think it's the style.

I want to start doing antenatal pilates but would mean asking DH to look after DD about 10-11.30 on Saturdays... he already has her from 9-10 (they do football) so it's a bit of an ask!

sazzle82G · 29/10/2014 13:00

Doesn't look like a fat bump from here daholster. Looks nice and round and neat.

I've been on mama's and papa ' s sale website. I was surprised how reasonable it was (with 50% off that is). Ordered a few tops that are nursing tops too so hoping they'll last a good while. Bought 4 tops all around £12. Think the sale ends today though so get in there fast. Had some lovely jeans too but none in my size unfortunately.

BrixtonBunny · 29/10/2014 13:05

Minipie that's good to know about tights - am still in regular tights as bought a pair of topshop maternity ones and they keep falling down too, think they only work on huge bumps! Will try boots as current tights are getting too, well, tight! Smile

Still getting achey hips and lower back, thinking of booking pregnancy massage for this weekend. Has anyone had one before? I live in London so was thinking either Spa NK or Elemis - both look lovely!

Loving all the bump pics, will post one later - think mine looks more bump-like now although I mainly think I still look fat(ter) Wink

17 weeks today!

cinnamongreyhound · 29/10/2014 13:22

I had clc because of my Bmi with ds2 Kismac, saw consultant instead of community midwife for almost all appointments but what I meant was there was a midwife in the room at each appt from the hospital. I was discharged from consultant at 38 weeks thank fully!

Sorry minipie but I think 2 1/2hrs per weekend isn't a big ask and you should ask Wink

Lauren82000 · 29/10/2014 13:45

I'd love to do the aquanatal but it's on Fridays at 3.30. No good for me as I can't get out of work. I know they are supposed to let you go to these things but it's a bit if an ask when someone has to travel from a different site every Friday for an hour (I finish at 4 so someone would have to travel 30mins just to cover an hour) just so I can sod off for a float in the pool. I feel like a pain asking when I have to have time off for appointments as it is. We've been really short staffed these last 2 months so I'm not going to get a regular skive authorised if the absences continue.

daholster · 29/10/2014 13:52

Thanks for your kind bump comments. It was well tamed into round and bump like by the aforementioned lovely chunks!

Just back from dd's nursery photo session. What a disaster. Tears and refusal to let go.... It's what happens when they put photos at nap time! Annoying that I bothered to iron her outfit though! A bit disappointed, oh well.

daholster · 29/10/2014 13:52

HA HA HA HA!!!! Lovely chunks!!! Lovely *CHINOS!!!! Hee hee hee! Grin

kismac · 29/10/2014 14:11

Thanks guys. Just called midwife and I'll see midwife to do 16 week appointment at same time as consultant appointment. Phew.

Minipie, that's good news re your appointment. You should do the pilates, pregnancy is tough, so you need nice things to look forward to. Im sure DH would understand that.

Lauren, I fancy doing aquanatal too. Fortunately, mine is out with working hours. Chance your arm and see what they say.

daholster · 29/10/2014 14:13

Baby brain... Just poured milk on my cake! Should have been cream... Confused

minipie · 29/10/2014 14:29

cinnamon I'm just worried he might want some child free time of his own in return and I might have to look after DD without his help Grin honestly he's great and does much more than his fair share already so that's the only reason I feel bad about asking!

Ooh, mamas and papas sale sounds good, thanks for the tip.

If anyone spots a mothercare furniture sale please let me know! Kicking myself for missing the last one.

daholster how disappointing but what daft timing... it's hard enough getting toddlers in the right mood at the best of times never mind nap time. (DD would be rubbish in a photo session - if you ask her to smile she does a face like the Gruffalo, not so cute!)

lauren are they really supposed to give time off for aquanatal? I thought it was just medical appointments they have to approve.

Brixton if you can get to Balham I know a fab massage lady based there - she does pg women and will do a proper massage not just stroking (which is what many places do if you say you are pregnant, they are terrified and won't really do any proper massaging ime!) PM me if you want the details.

minipie · 29/10/2014 14:30

daholster I must have even worse baby brain because I read that as you'd just poured milk on your CAT! Grin

That made me laugh minipie! Do you not have dd on your own during the week? I used to really resent dh training, he built his gym and it's in our garage but he's still in it 4 times a week and some Sessions are upto 1 1/2hrs. It just p'd me off he'd get in from work and go straight out there, then I'd finish work, walk dogs, do dinner and put kids to bed (while he tidies kitchen) but since I discovered running I understand it more and he's been ever so supportive. I think it's important you both have time, whether it's together or apart, doing something you enjoy.

I'm planning to do antenatal yoga but it's pricey and so I'll wait until I'm further along. It's evenings but I work until quite late so could take some organising to get to it.

kismac · 29/10/2014 14:52

Oh no, baby brain. I hope I don't get it too bad. Im already a bit daft.

I've just been told off for cleaning the bathroom. Very confused! DH doesn't want me near chemicals but Im still off work and MIL is coming at the weekend, so he'll not have time to do it before she arrives. Do I just put my feet up for the next 6 months? Ha ha.

minipie · 29/10/2014 15:00

Yes I do cinnamon - most bedtimes and all day Friday - but DH is at work at those times so it's not like he's getting "time off" iyswim. In all honesty would be pretty cross if DH had a time consuming hobby and left DD to me so I feel like I can't really do that myself! Time each to ourselves would be nice but we both work long hours and DD goes to bed late, so with the limited free time we have I'd rather we spent it together and with DD...

cinnamongreyhound · 29/10/2014 15:13

Yeah, always tough to find time for everything!! Shame your Pilates doesn't coincide with their football! He's been training in his gym most of his life, tricky to ask for change with a lifetime of doing something, the joys of meeting later in his life. I run 6am or one night a week and he does tea that night and take dogs so one less job and Saturday mornings which everyone loves as they can stay in the jarmies until I get back :) we both work long hours too so I feel your pain! My boys are pretty good at going to bed though so we have 8.15/30 until we go to bed together.

Lauren82000 · 29/10/2014 15:15

I get grumpy sometimes DH expects me to take DD out all day on a Saturday and in return I get 2 hours on a Sunday. Not quite sure how that works out.

He moans that I get half terms off but it's the only time I ever get to myself and I still have to tidy the house unlike what he gets every Saturday which is uninterrupted gaming time. Going to have to get him told I think it's getting a bit of a joke.

I agree that you have a lovely neat bump daholster

16 week midwife appointment tomorrow, I'm going armed with all manner of labour questions that she's probably going to hate!

Lauren82000 · 30/10/2014 07:45

Urg what a horrible nights sleep. First I needed a drink so went downstairs for one and the kitchen light blew. Then it took me ages to get back to sleep as I was stressing about getting an electrician out to fix it and having to buy a new light fitting.(it's blown before so we know it needs a new one) then I finally go back to sleep and DD was crying out her tummy hurt thought she was going to be sick so she slept in our bed. Then I finally got comfy again and I had an awful dream where my grandpa died and my mum didn't tell me I missed the funeral and everything and I confronted her and she just shrugged. Very bizarre but it really upset me. Confused

lila35 · 30/10/2014 08:00

Sounds like you need to write last night off and start again afresh today lauren, what a rubbish night you had.
Lovely lovely bump pics ladies Smile

2 weeks today till my scan, I am ready for it to be here now!!
