Drink plenty is always my answer to all bowel issues prelurker123 but if it's that bad then go to your gp or talk to midwife.

Ds1 drank loads but very quickly (like within a week) went to 3hourly feeds!!! He also went from 8pm until 1-4am every night and slept through 8-6 from 12 weeks, boy was ds2 a shock!!!! He wasn't bad during th day but cluster fed 4-8pm and was up 3-4 times every night until 7 months and I was almost dead by that point as I was working 7.30-6 (although from home).

I'm scared too BananaToast and not a lot will change financially for us! Not so much now but school bits add up quickly and we really can't afford the kids we have! Ds1 will be 8 soon after the baby is born so will not count in the numbers of children I can mind and ds2 will start school in sept so will no longer take one of my under 5 spaces so I will be able to earn the same. Not suggesting you should stop your trips just that if push comes to shove they can be cut back on. Must be tough to be far from family, my mum lives in the same town although she knows not to visit too often! My dad is 90miles away but he comes to us about once a month.

prevlurker123 · 21/10/2014 20:36

Yep ladynovember tried that too! Probably a bit constipated (oh the dignity!). Trying to drink a lot but may need to try harder! :( thanks guys!

BrixtonBunny · 21/10/2014 20:44

Prev maybe try peppermint tea? It's supposed to be good for digestion. Also maybe try eating some very fibrous food - swap normal bread for seeded wholemeal, eat lots of fruit and raw veg, and try brown rice? Otherwise yoghurt is supposed to be good for digestion too - get some activia maybe? Sorry you're feeling rubbish Thanks

12 week scan today, put me forward to 13+4 making my new due date 24th April. Baby was very wriggly so scan seemed to take ages, but didn't mind that! just need to wait for blood results to come back now, fingers crossed low risk!

Hidingthefear · 21/10/2014 22:03

Seen as we've all been tallking about furniture I thought i'd share what were buying (well my mother is kindly buying for us)
www.mamasandpapas.com/range/rialto-oak/8700/?display=added
It's from Mammas and Pappas but you also get an extra 10% off online.

Were getting our pram for there too (again thanks to my mother) And it's an absolute bargain!!! £300 and you get the pushchair (suitable from birth), carry cot, and car seat including adapters so it can be clicked onto the pram.
here it is if anyones interested
www.mamasandpapas.com/product-zoom-trio-package-blacklime/493230700/type-i/
after wheeling prams round mammas and pappas and John lewis and folding them up and changing attachments this won for me, hands down, over the silver cross (which I thought i really wanted!!), the buggaboo, the I Candy and the City Jogger.

I know it's a bit early seen as i'm only 15+1 (ish) but hey ho, gotta buy sometime :)

Hidingthefear · 21/10/2014 22:10

prevlurker I too have suffered with constipation, so much so it caused, hmm shall we say, an injury! suffering with occasional bouts of ibs i usually have the opposite problem.
Green Tea seemed to help me but I wouldn't have more than 3 cups a day. plenty of water was the advice given although I struggle with that. defo make sure your diet it fibre and not fatty. Fatty food make me barf anyway so it's relatively easy to eat healthy at the moment seen as everything else makes me sick.

cinnamongreyhound · 21/10/2014 22:13

And exercise! Nothing shifts things for me like a run!

daholster · 22/10/2014 00:48

hiding we have the Rialto set for dd, it's been great. It clatters when she bashes the bars turning over but unless you get a solid built one I think this will always happen. It doesn't keep us awake and it doesn't seem to wake her either.

Mrs S congratulations! Smile

I second the fly while they're young advice... We flew at 10 months, only to Switzerland - she slept mostly. At 16 months we went to Sicily. She got bored, kicked the seat in front (so hard to keep those feet in check in that small space on your knee!) screamed for 20 mins because I wouldn't let her run all over the plane and was much harder work! We are thinking of going to New York to see hubby at work next month if he goes away again... Me on my own on the plane! Gulp!

siarie glad you are feeling better today. prevlurker sorry you are in pain.

cinnamongreyhound · 22/10/2014 06:38

Lovely MrsS010814! Mine was very still which the sonographer loved but it's nice to see those little movements :)

I've got my 16wk apt today, dreamt about it last night and midwife met me in a car park so we could do it in a local swimming pool! I forgot my wee pot and had to go back later anyway! It's at 2.30 and I have school pick up 3.15 so I'm stressed she'll be too behind and I won't be seen before I have to go but he clinic only starts at 2 and does at two were booked. Weds is my busiest day and if I took a later apt I would have to have taken 9 children which isn't ideal!!!!

prevlurker123 · 22/10/2014 07:17

Thanks hiding and cinnamon! Still feel pretty rubbish today but on a mission to drink a lot. Its tricky to say now whether the pain is my insides or whether its my muscles! Have a good day all!

Lauren82000 · 22/10/2014 07:28

Yay my scan today finally going to get pictures of the little one.

Good luck today Lauren

I've had a lot fewer weird dreams recently, but I don't know if this is because I'm so exhausted I just fall to sleep until my alarm goes off or my body decides 4.30 is an acceptable time to wake up so by the time I get to work I've had 4 hours to dwell on what p*s me off at the moment. Had a bit of a giggle at yours, Squatting Smile

We're waiting until after the 20 wk scan to start looking at prams/furniture. The rational part of me knows the chances of anything going wrong now are minute, but my heart won't let me think about us having a baby, just in case. Had a chat with DH over the weekend about how I'm feeling, and he said he feels the same.

We are in for a huge shock in 5 months... Shock

17 + 6

BananaToast · 22/10/2014 10:12

Have a lovely scan today Lauren

We've started looking at bigger items in the last week or so (but don't plan to buy for a while yet) - think we are going to go for the Mamas and Papas Sola pram. We had been looking at the Bugaboo Cameleon but just can't justify the price - even second hand! - and there's things I much prefer about the Sola.. one piece fold is a big bonus for me. Hoping to choose what we want over the next month or two and get some deals in the January sales.

Siarie · 22/10/2014 10:38

Hope your scan goes well Lauren, I bet we are all in for baby related christmas presents! I won't be buying until after the 20 week scan just in case there are any problems as they check all the organs then.

But to settle my eager planning ways I am making wish lists on Mamas and Papas and John Lewis. That way I can still look without committing to it officially.

minipie · 22/10/2014 12:04

wow, I found the new thread and it's already on page 9 Shock

prevlurker my tips for wind/constipation: 1) go on all fours on the bed and waggle your bum around, it looks ridiculous but gets things moving 2) clockwise tummy massge, quite firm and 3) coffee! (I know caffeine isn't great but one coffee is ok according to the NHS advice).

Prams and furniture: I'm not really sure what to do about prams. DD will be nearly 2.5 but she isn't the best walker so guessing we'll need a double.. but only for about 6 months which is pretty annoying. I was hoping a friend might have one I can borrow but they are all having more babies too!! Keeping my eyes peeled on our local second hand board for cheapo doubles.

We need to get a cotbed for DD so DD2 can have the cot. I'm kicking myself for not buying one we like from Mothercare while their sale was on! It was a few weeks ago and I didn't feel brave enough. Hopefully there will be another sale...

So is anyone still waiting for their 12 week scan?

minipie · 22/10/2014 12:05

Oops duh missed that Lauren has hers today - good luck!

cinnamongreyhound · 22/10/2014 12:06

That is weird SquattingNeville, we took ds1 to 20wk scan but too my mum too. They say outside while they checked everything and then when done they came in for a quick whizz around all the bits of the baby. My mum had never seen a scan before so she loved it! Not sure what the protocol is for this one as I could take one adult and my children for 12wk one and made apt at the end of it.

Hope you enjoy it Lauren82000!!!

TinyTear · 22/10/2014 12:10

mini how about a buggy board?

Lauren82000 · 22/10/2014 12:14

Does anyone else seem to have a ridiculous amount of discharge lately? I appear to have soaked through a panty liner with mine this morning. Going to have to nip home on the way to the scan for a new pair of knickers. Oh dear! Blush

Lindalove · 22/10/2014 12:18

chicken I use johnsons baby oil in the shower every morning on my skin to keep my skin soft & have a means to try & avoid stretch marks. I then pop a bit of biooil on my tum before I go to bed. My skins never been softer!

Re breastfeeding I find it all a bit ick, yes I know it's very natural but there's no way I'm boob pumping. I'm aiming on a mixed feed approach after the first 6 weeks on boob.

cowbiscuits · 22/10/2014 12:55

MrsS010814 We have the same due date :)

LadyNovember · 22/10/2014 13:35

I have had an unnerving amount ever since my BFP Lauren..so nice. Grin

For the first 2 weeks I kept rushing to the loo convinced my AF had arrived.

cinnamongreyhound · 22/10/2014 13:35

Yes me Lauren82000, I guess it's to reduce the risk of infection from anything getting in. Mine tends to be cyclic so was quite heavy in the middle of the month anyway.

I think genetics have a lot to do with stretch marks, I did moisturise my tummy but I have tonnes of stretch marks from I was 19 and gained 9st in a year. I didn't get any while pregnant and not did my mum but perhaps I already had as many as possible. Since I lost weight 2 and a bit years ago I have never lost all the spare skin so have plenty to stretch this time!
