Going through these fast at the minute!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Grannyapple · 09/10/2014 13:35

Usually starts with cramping with me & make some chilli that should say!

YellowWellies · 09/10/2014 14:17

Ldt that sounds like a bloody show - think things are about to kick off for you for real!

puppythedog · 09/10/2014 14:19

What's the name of the forceps we DON'T want?

FatFlashingLazer · 09/10/2014 14:28

I'm back home now and didn't have to wait long at all. Baby was fine on the monitor but my blood pressure was high so they took urine and blood samples. Urine came back fine and had a few more BP readings and it was coming down so concluded it was probably anxiety. They'll call if anything shows up in the bloods. Been told I looked tired and need to get some sleep so going to pop the dog out for a very quick walk then back to bed it is. Thanks for the advice. I'm glad I went in rather than worrying at home.

MundayCakes85 · 09/10/2014 14:29

Puppy was it something like Kielland forceps?

ohthegoats · 09/10/2014 14:40

Keilland forceps are the rotational ones to avoid puppy.

I went for my 'sweep' - can only get one finger in, so didn't do a hefty job. Everything gearing up in the right direction, but not there yet. Gives me ammunition for tomorrow in terms of not being induced and makes me feel better about it all.

Every time I see a non-consultant-linked midwife, I come away feeling so much calmer and happier about everything. Right now I feel fine about waiting for it to just start on its own... we went through all my dates too, and have done some fiddling around with the ones the consultant wrote down incorrectly, making me 41+2 today - another day or so leeway. I'll get until Tuesday for my hospital to start really laying down the line about induction. Another deadline to not think about.

ohthegoats · 09/10/2014 14:45

And, I know now that if I'd seen community midwives from the beginning, I'd have definitely gone for a homebirth. If there's another one, I will.

madamweasel · 09/10/2014 14:47

I reckon things are kicking off here Confused

Grannyapple · 09/10/2014 15:14

Ooh good luck madam. Chilli is on & changing table cleaned & sorted...nothing is happening here so will attempt bag tonight...then w/e for moving changing table & baby clothes into our room..

FlipFantasia · 09/10/2014 15:20

Good luck MrsB for your induction! Hope babyB doesn't keep you waiting!

MrsD (and puppy) also wishing you luck.

And MrsC hope it's all going well!

Fatpony sounds like a lovely (and busy!) last day before baby comes Smile

Goats I'm glad you're feeling better. It is such a head f*ck position to be in especially with your first. Glad your sweep went well and hope things keep going in the right direction!

Badger congratulations! I read your post during my (usual) sleepless night and it brought a wee tear of joy to my eye! That post birth high is brilliant!

Kirstie lovely story Smile.

Ladies, I am going mad. Everyone, I mean everyone I see (mainly other moms on the preschool run, folks in shops, on the street, even a police man from his cruiser) keeps telling me I'm massive (it totally looks like twins!) and they can't believe I'm still here and baby is going to be monstrously big. It seems in the states it's quite common to be induced or sectioned early and people seem incredulous that I'm just going to wait (and that I say I am only 40+2 - they're like 'why haven't you been induced get Shock'). I miss London and polite Brits who aren't as pass remarkable...seriously I had a cry about it when I got back into my car. I'm also knackered and have decided to go back to bed instead of trying to bill any more freelance hours.

Oh and i watched GBBO final last night on catch up and had a cry about that too. Was happy at the winner (and will now miss the show!). Am sick of late preggo hormones!

Pregnantagain7 · 09/10/2014 15:39

Congratulations sweetpea what I lovely birth by the sounds of it. Flowers

Ooh exciting times madam

Gosh these babies are flying out.

me23 sorry missed you out in my last post hope things are going smoothly for you.

I feel achy (what's new!) but nowt doing here.
goats that sounds similar to my first sweep on Monday you never know though it could be enough to tip you over the edge!

STIGZ · 09/10/2014 15:49

grannyapple maybe things will kick off after your chilli? Wink

Fatlazer glad all is well

Idt my first labour came on thick & fast after losing pinky bloody mucous, are you still losing some?

me thats scary about pre eclampsia, what happens now for you? When are due again?

keep us postedmadam Grin

dp just came home for lunch and got an emotional outburst of tears & snot from me ... DD has her wee friends in playing as there is no school or nursery again.. Bloody october break!! I just cant deal with the noise levels/arguing, shouting me every two minutes for everything bloody imaginable... I feel sick & my heads bumping, i just want to sleep, the sleepness nights from pregnancy have caught up with me, i am fed up with being sore & putting on a brave face/looking on the brightside for the sake of everyone else, the tears have started now i cant get them to stop, the usual for me, i bottle things up for too long because i feel people would kill to be in my position and really shouldnt complain too muchSad

fedupofrainydays · 09/10/2014 16:05

Good luck madam!
Goodness, there's all sorts kicking off now!

Quick question for those of you who get childcare vouchers? Does your company pay them when in receipt of just SMP? Ie no top up??

ohthegoats · 09/10/2014 16:12

Good luck madam

stigz - find some comedy, quick... that's what I was doing yesterday. In the end I went for old episodes of Peep Show. Stupid but at least put a tiny smile on my face.

I am now officially the last of my NCT class to drop. Three of them were due after me. Haha.

Grannyapple · 09/10/2014 16:28

fedup yes when on SMP, childcare vouchers should still go into your childcare vouchers account without being deducted as SMP is a statutory benefit/income, it cannot be used for a salary sacrifice scheme. Your employer should be covering your pension contributions too while you are off, for the same reason...

fedupofrainydays · 09/10/2014 16:37

Cool. My pension contribution as well as the company bit?

cabster · 09/10/2014 16:37

stigz Hefner gave birth yesterday morning :) am sure she'll be along soon with her story! Sorry you're having a shitty day.

I had a friend round this morning with her DS - he and DD went to town on the lounge (and the cats) and I'm shattered now! I've also noticed that sitting gives me really painful inner thighs - I have a newfound respect for those of you who have been struggling with SPD and PGP for so long.

madam and mrsb go ladies go!

puppythedog · 09/10/2014 16:47

Hope you're doing okay Me? Flowers

We've had the prostaglandin, now watching Harry potter in delivery suite hoping Contractions start. Grin It's weird wishing the person you love pain.

Me23 · 09/10/2014 16:50

Well for those not on fb. I'm currently in hospital bring induced diagnosis of mild preeclampsia Bp has gone up too (though sure it's partly anxiety) had prostin gel an hour ago waiting to see if it does anything.

puppythedog · 09/10/2014 16:55

I'd not twigged who you were Grin

MundayCakes85 · 09/10/2014 17:11

Good luck to all the inductions this afternoon. Fingers crossed it all progresses quickly.
I'm still losing my plug thing- seriously how much is up there? Surely things should kick off soon? I'm useless at waiting!! [insert grumpy face here]

Grannyapple · 09/10/2014 17:15

Yes fedup..yours as well as employer contribution. And any AVC's you may pay into your pension scheme too.

Pregnantagain7 · 09/10/2014 17:23

Good luck me hope everything is nice and quick and straight forward :)

ohthegoats · 09/10/2014 17:32

Good luck everyone being done this afternoon!

Me23 · 09/10/2014 17:32

Cross posted puppy all is now revealed.

Good luck to everyone being induced or going into labour.
