Frau obviously if I'd had the csection I would have probably avoided this....because he would have been cut out 2 weeks earlier BUT the vbac was not the cause of this. It was just one of those things. There's no point me dwelling on what ifs and maybes. He came out, his choice, labour started naturally and now we are moving on. This is his story and will make him into the boy he is. I have no regrets. X

Sorry if tmi but I've had some pinkness on the tissue when I wiped after peeing just now. No mucus though...Could this mean my cervix is starting to do its thing? Lots of braxtons hicks this evening too...maybe 4 every hour....

binkybunny · 09/10/2014 02:00

Good luck for today with your induction mrsb and hope things are moving along nicely mrsthedog and puppy

Sitting on the postnatal ward cuddling my perfect, beautiful brand new daughter... Baby Badger arrived yesterday afternoon after an 11-hour labour that started out with sudden contractions that were 5 mins apart and lasted 1 min each, a good chunk of time in the birth centre in a birthing pool and a bit of help in the form of a (much wanted!) episiotomy at the end after three and a half hours of pushing. Little Badger has bf'd and is now sleeping, and I would be too if I could stop staring at the amazing little person we made Smile. Hang in there, all you end-of-termers; it could kick off at any moment and it will be worth it 100%.

How is mrsthedog xx

Missus2ndwife · 09/10/2014 06:49

Well done Badger!! Congrats on your baby girl xx

Mrsthedog · 09/10/2014 07:01

Morning lovelies,

My waters broke yesterday and I went in but they asked me to come back when my contractions start properly. Apart from a couple of little ones, I haven't had any contractions yet :(

Currently tidying up the house while watching / singing along to 'Sister Act' which is fairly strange for 7 am.

Hoping to get the old oxytocin going!

We have to go back at 1 pm this morning if contractions haven't started because then they will induce me.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts and best wishes - we'll keep you posted!

Good luck to all the new mammas / mammas to be xxxx

fedupofrainydays · 09/10/2014 07:10

Yay badger!

Mrsthedog - I would try all sorts of things that open up the pelvis. Walking, sitting on loo backwards, gym ball. It may help - does with me. But also not a bad idea to rest as could be a while from now still. Take care

binkybunny · 09/10/2014 07:13

Mrs hope the Sister Act singing gets the oxytocin flowing and contractions started! How exciting though that you know you'll be meeting your baby so soon?!

MundayCakes85 · 09/10/2014 07:18

Congratulations Badger and good luck with the cleaning Mrs!
Had my show last night, hoping this means I can start naturally instead of being induced at the weekend.
Who else was being induced today? Let's get a move on with these October babies!!!

kittyvet · 09/10/2014 07:31

Congratulations Badger!!! Enjoy being with your little girl!
Good luck Mrsthedog! like the idea if singing along to musicals!

Mamami · 09/10/2014 07:49

Oh badger your post made me cry. Huge congratulations to you and all the other new mummies on your safe arrivals

Mamami · 09/10/2014 07:50

And good luck dogs. Baby will be here so soon!

ohthegoats · 09/10/2014 07:57

Congratulations badger!
Good luck mrsdog - definitely do some stuff like fedup suggested. Sideways up and down stairs? A midwife suggested lunges to me yesterday, but that's the first time I'd heard that one. I hope you managed some sleep!

Still nothing further happening here. Went to bed with quite bad period pain, came to nothing. Spoke to a friend yesterday who opted for monitoring and ended up at 43 weeks before her son arrived. That makes me want to cry! Hip pain now even making lying in bed uncomfy.

Might have to stay away from here today before other people's baby arrival stories turn me inside out with rage and jealousy! Midwife at sweep at lunchtime will almost certainly get cried on.

Good luck everyone - there's a veritable avalanche of babies! When you get your legs and brains back together don't forget to join us on the post natal threads! Smile

Kirstipops · 09/10/2014 09:11

Hi everybody! Sorry I've been quiet, I haven't caught up on the thread yet since Friday evening but the Facebookers will know that baby Heidi arrived on Saturday night at 11.36pm weighing in at 7lbs 5oz. Also not exactly to plan and involved a 4 night stay in hospital for us (mainly down to me though, Heidi was dandy!) but now that she's here I don't care how she arrived! (cheesy cliché alert), she's a little cutie and DH and I are smitten Grin. Nailing BFing is our next little hurdle, my oh my is my milk in! Sometimes she latches on great first time and others she's a wriggly little headbobbing worm! I have a BF counsellor visiting today to help, so I'm looking forward to being more consistent with it, I love her shiny flushed milk-drunk face after a successful session.

I was admitted to hospital on Friday night after going in with a small bleed. The MWs and doctor were unsure of its cause (speculum confirmed it wasn't plug or waters) so they wanted to keep me in to keep an eye on me and induce by pessary the next day due to my "possibly irritated uterus". Saturday morning arrived and brought with it some bump cramping and back pain, which I didn't think much of initially as I commonly woke up in some kind of discomfort during pregnancy! Then I started to time the waves of back pain and the other ladies in the ward agreed it seemed baby wanted to come on its own terms! By lunchtime the contractions were 6mins apart and the MW giving the pessary said I'd prob only need the 1 gel (I was 1-2 cm dialated). After 5 or 6 hours of ball-bouncing, TENS, some paracetamol, a codeine and deep breathing, I was told I was next in the queue for the busy labour ward where they could pop my waters. Somehow I mainly felt my contractions in my hips and top of my thighs, so whenever a contraction came I felt too much pressure if I lay on my side or stood up, so the ball bouncing and TENS were huge relief. A MW ran me a glorious warm bath, which I followed up with a visit to the toilet for a last minute #2 however my waters went instead!! My mum was standing outside the toilet and even heard them go, for shame!!
This ramped up the pain and the mw checked and saw I was 8cm dialated and I was brought down to the labour ward, where 10 after mins of lovely lovely gas and air, a flurry of labour ward staff rushing into the room as baby's heart rate dipped to 50, episiotomy, forceps and catheter inserted and enough pushing to make me hoarse next day, perfect little Heidi made her entrance! Some lovely skin to skin for 3 hours before I went up to postnatal ward, and my being kept in afterwards for the 3 nights was for docs to keep an eye on my ever-high pulse and the urine in my catheter bag which was a bit clotty looking, they decided down to the forceps. Docs and MW were great for each stage, but lord it was great to get home to my own bed on Tuesday afternoon!

mrsb87 · 09/10/2014 09:38

That's a great birth story kirsti. I'm glad you're both home and doing well!
So today is the day, baby out day! It's a strange feeling at the moment just waiting to go in knowing were going out with a baby!
House cleaning and double....triple checking the hospital bag this morning and taking the mutts to the inlaws Sad I hate leaving my boys behind!
