FrauEnglischLehrerin · 08/10/2014 11:46

I also struggle to remember who is who on here and on fb, so congrats to anyone who isn't on there who has given birth since I last posted Smile!

sazzle as a fellow vbac-er I've been thinking of you (including last night when I couldn't sleep). Glad to hear that you've been able to hold and feed baby Ned now. Really hoping for the best possible outcome for him Flowers.

I'm 38 weeks today and have finished my baby quilt, so am finally ready if ds wants to make an appearance. Dd told me this morning she wants him to come today, apparently "he will come out some time in the next three weeks" sounds like AGES to a 5yo...

Sending labour vibes to all those overdue, and good sleep vibes to everyone else!

Lily31 · 08/10/2014 14:28

Haha, pregnant. What about red rose transfers? Could do the trick...

Glad you've had cuddles sazzle

punky if you're out there, give us a shout.

Also, no news from Kirsti, I am assuming she is on the FB thread, but I'm not on there.

ohthegoats · 08/10/2014 14:46

Kirsti thought her lucky day would be yesterday, because I thought mine would be today - making us both 10 days late I think. I've been wondering.

I got out of bed at 2.15... only to put clothes on that resemble pajamas, and move myself to the same position on the sofa. Bored.

mrsb87 · 08/10/2014 14:52

Kirsti had her baby on the 5th, a little girl called Heidi. I'm sure she posted here but things get lost so easily!

ohthegoats · 08/10/2014 14:55

Oh nooooo, I missed that totally. Well, congratulations Kirsti! I'm so jealous!

YellowWellies · 08/10/2014 15:28

Heidi is vair cute! Pics on FB.

Lulu298 · 08/10/2014 15:30

Congratulations kirstipops!

ohthegoats · 08/10/2014 15:33

I'm not on FB, presumably I'm missing loads of babies!

puppythedog · 08/10/2014 15:36

Mrsthedog's waters have gone :-) sat in midwife led unit. We're going home and need to be back in established labour by lunchtime tomorrow Smile.

We're all feeling lovely and calm and looking forward to date night no nookie Grin

sazzlehopes · 08/10/2014 15:36

frau and any other vbac people. I did manage a vbac. I am healing I think quicker than from my csection. It's sore, obvs but ok. Baby Ned ended up in scbu because of his cord and other reasons not because of the vbac so I hope no one is put off/scared of trying for one xx

Yep puppy - the other night when we thought things were kicking off here, we took me and my contractions out for dinner. It was fine. Well, obviously. Hope you don't end up hanging around too long between waters and things properly moving.

PunkyBubba · 08/10/2014 16:01

Yay Thedogs!! Hope everything goes smoothly!

Hi Lily, still here but an odd day. Went for my preop chat this morning as I'm booked for a c section tomorrow. Then in-laws planning to visit in the afternoon. After the preop I was told a Dr was coming to see me to answer my Qs.

She ended up doing an internal exam, then asked if I wanted her to try to break my waters and induce as baby is head down. I said yes, so was taken straight to a delivery room! Dr said she might not be able to do it as cervix is very posterior so it was just going to be an attempt. My head was spinning as I wasn't expecting this at all.. But then she was buzzed for an emergency and I was sent back to my room instead...

So I've been listening to my hypnobirthing stuff to try to focus me, and snoozing as I didn't sleep well last night.. And they still haven't come back for me. Last update was it depends on how busy delivery rooms are, and they have been quite busy this afternoon :(

Also DH is anxiously waiting at home with in laws as if he needs to come in then DS needs to be picked up from nursery and go home with in laws. I can see them telling me at 7pm that they are waiting til 2mrw...

STIGZ · 08/10/2014 16:04

Yay mr&mrs puppy Grin enjoy your last nite date night together as a couple

Congratz kirstie on baby heidi, hope all went smoothly ?

I had to come home from shops... Was bent over checkout with the most painful braxton hicks, think i might have been carrying a bit much ? (A packet of cold meat, a mutipack of quavers & two pints of milk) had a couple since but not been as sore! Im getting nervous now Hmm walking more than 10 minutes is killing me!! But struggling to keep a 4 year old house bound ? Think i need to ask mil to help me out, hate having to ask but im really struggling with pgp and looking after my dd, only 8 days maximum to go, feel so sad for my poor ddSad

binkybunny · 08/10/2014 16:24

Well I've just spent the afternoon walking round a hilly wildlife park and been having huge fanny daggers and tightenings since I got home. But... this has happened so many times I'm not even thinking tonight could be the night!

puppythedog · 08/10/2014 16:24

Punky I hope it all goes smoothly for you and you can meet your lovely baby Grin

Just bought shitloads of hobnobs and other nice biscuits as bribery for when we go back :-)

magichandles · 08/10/2014 16:24

I'm glad you've had proper cuddles with Ned now sazzle and the cooling treatment went well - a close friend's son had it a few years ago (undiagnosed breech vaginal birth, won't go into details but very traumatic for all concerned) so I remember reading up on it then and it is supposed to be very effective.

Good news to thedogs as well! Enjoy this evening!

I've packed my hospital bag as far as I can now, problem is I actually need to use half the stuff at the moment anyway! I seem to have overpacked (again) though, but as I'm being induced, plus have GD I need to take in loads.

ohthegoats · 08/10/2014 16:32

Well, one day in bed/only on the sofa because walking hurts so much, and I just can't do it any more. This is an absurd waste of time and frankly it'll start affecting my mental health if I'm still going to be doing it at the weekend. I'm just not a sitting down sort of person, telly is fucking dull.

I've booked a sweep for tomorrow. The community midwives were really nice on the phone - I'm jealous now of people who have had just midwives the whole way through pregnancy, consultants are so much less kind, everything is about them patronising you.

Off to Sainsburys - it's time for nice wine tonight.

FlipFantasia · 08/10/2014 16:58

Punky wow, that sounds exciting! Fingers crossed for you (but c section tomorrow means baby for you soon!).

Puppy & MrsD good luck! Massively excited for you!

I'm annoyed as no sweep for me this morning...cervix soft and forward but but not open enough. Reckon I'll be back for my 41 week appointment next Wed! But stopped off a cost plus world market on the way home and stocked up on some British & Irish food. So baby is keeping me waiting but at least I can scoff tunnocks tea cakes and Jacobs cream crackers while drinking Barry's tea!

And in a work dilemma, I'm still doing some freelance hours for my local client (super easy work and keeps my mind off things) but now an old friend from London has just emailed asking me to do some freelance work. Despite being 40+1 I think I'll have to say yes...I need as much experience (or at least more than one client!) on my CV. Just rubbish timing!

STIGZ · 08/10/2014 17:08

Hopefully the night you dont expect it to happen it will binky plus the full moon is out tonight so fingers crossed !!

Wine sounds bloody fantastic goats... I keep going to have a glass but keep thinking i will go into labour if i do?

mrsb87 · 08/10/2014 17:12

I'm going in for my induction tomorrow (phew!) and have my bag packed but I'm worried I'm missing things, I'm not sure what mind you. any help would be great!
babies things I'm pretty confident about,
3 sleep suits,
3 vests
hat
mits
nappies
lansinoh cream
water wipes
blanket for home time.
My things I'm not so sure,
2 night shirts (the long ones with buttons down)
slippers
dressing gown
toiletries
lots of cheap (massive!) pants
1 nursing bra
1 sleep bra
towel
flip flops
yoghurt biscuit snacks and 2 noodley things. I plan on getting some sweeties and maybe some mini cheddars or something on the way in.
ondansatron
I also have a separate bag packed with some joggers and a hoody for me to go home in.
Help! What am I missing?!

fatpony · 08/10/2014 17:13

Wow things are speeding up again on here. Good luck everyone!

mrsb87 · 08/10/2014 17:14

Oh I 2 packs of maternity pads and breast pads too.

fatpony · 08/10/2014 17:18

I've semi packed mine - what about a book/kindle? Eye mask and ear plugs? Phone charger? I know I am going to be on the noisy post natal ward though hence the eye mask etc.

madamweasel · 08/10/2014 17:20

Mrsb something to entertain you incase it's slow to get going and boring, e.g. Book/magazine/ipod, etc

mrsb87 · 08/10/2014 17:21

oh yep I have the kindle charged and the tablet charged ready to go!
