Baby bouncer chair ordered! Its the fisher price woodsy friends one. Ds chose it and I bought the same one for our friend last year....another thing ticked off 'the list'

JacktheLab · 02/10/2014 20:55

Sounds good :)

Our spare room is in a right state at the moment, can't wait till Saturday to get cleared out and ready to transform it. Apparently it is going to be a digger and crane room according to DS!

Memphisbelly · 02/10/2014 21:04

That is a good theme! I have picked a few of each item we need and let ds have final choice just so he feels like he is involved he loves bahy shopping which is odd as he hates any other type of shopping!

bagofsnakes · 02/10/2014 21:08

Aw, Memphisbelly we had that for my first baby and it was lovely. Sold it on as we didn't have room to store it - maybe I can persuade someone to buy me another!

JacktheLab · 02/10/2014 21:11

I've just bought some decals from ebay which should come on Saturday :) He's been really sweet but determined and asked several times for a digger room, so I hope he likes it!

Nursery is yellow and has a sort of zoo animals theme, will post a photo when it's ready, it was all mothercare stuff from three years ago, I'm quite chuffed to be able to get more use out of it :)

Grinningcat · 02/10/2014 21:24

Jack I've just pm'd you re the fab group. Could you add me too please?

Grinningcat · 02/10/2014 21:29

I meant the fb group, but I'm sure it WILL be fab though. Smile

Viperama · 02/10/2014 21:38

Hi All, it went okay today, waters are intact so far. Huge sigh of relief, but now have to focus on the next two weeks being stable and with luck an improvement. I'm so mad at my poxy cervix! Now have to sort home help for me for the next 3 months. Not easy when we're both from abroad. Currently looking at my sister covering October, mom November and mil December. If we reach January we'll be sooo relieved! Signed up for nct class yesterday bloody typical.

Viperama · 02/10/2014 21:41

We're doing a forest themed nursery, big tree decal and lots of forest friends

bagofsnakes · 02/10/2014 21:47

Viperama that does sound tough. While I'm originally from the UK we lived abroad for many years and my husband is from distant shores. We now live in the UK but a couple of hundred miles from my family and a few thousand from his. I totally understand how difficult is when things go wrong and you have no one close by. It sounds like you might have come up with a good plan though. Do you have other children? Also, is there a local Mother's Help service? I have to use one occasionally to help out with the cleaning and laundry. Only human!

BanglesSpangles · 02/10/2014 21:52

Welcome snakes, have put your bits on the spreadsheet of glory

Wedding cakes baked and decorated, had the most ridiculous dinner of a bolognese sandwich and am now watching hunger games while perusing for wallpaper ideas. See you guys on facebook!

Memphisbelly · 02/10/2014 21:53

Viper I have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

Bagofsnakes I had the rainforest animals one last time and sold it on as we didn't want to move stuff like that when we moved house. On Amazon this one had gone down to £31 from 42!

Viperama · 02/10/2014 21:54

Ooo Bags how do I find local mothers help?
No other kiddies, gosh that would be tough!

bagofsnakes · 02/10/2014 22:04

bangles thanks for the welcome - what's this spreadsheet you speak of? I'm not very familiar with these forums, not really used them much before. Feeling a little out there by myself with this pregnancy, hence why I tracked you down. Very glad I did too :-)

memphis thanks for the tip! I'll check that out.

viperama when we moved to this area - with a 10 week old baby and no family or friends for miles and miles around - I did a quick google search and found a really good Mother's Help/cloth nappy laundry/toy library service and it's been a god-send! Gumtree would also be a good place to look.

Memphisbelly · 02/10/2014 22:08

Bangles your tea sounds erm different.....do we get to see a pic of the cake?

BanglesSpangles · 02/10/2014 22:26

snakes theres a link to it on the first page of the thread- just a list of whose expecting what, when!

Memphis, it was freaking awesome, if a tiny bit messy. I'll put up some cake pics tomorrow for anyone thats interested in how i spend my days off! :)

JacktheLab · 02/10/2014 22:37

Viper, check if your local council has a family information page?

tiredvommachine · 02/10/2014 23:02

Hi all, can I join? Have a baby boy due 14 th February Smile

Bangonthedoor · 03/10/2014 06:37

Welcome tire Smile

How are things this morning viper?

LittleMissSunshine33 · 03/10/2014 07:07

Welcome newbies!

Tanks for the FB page nice to put faces to names.

I am very lucky RE nursery my teaching assistant at work is amazing at wall art has done all around our school and is coming to paint monkeys hanging of a tree on one wall and possibly other animals on another!

freneticfox · 03/10/2014 09:02

Love the nursery ideas! Makes me really sad that we still rent, so not really able to decorate a nursery. We've been really unlucky in that every time we get somewhere with savings, something comes up that wipes a chunk of it out!

Very frustrating :(

Viperama · 03/10/2014 09:10

Frenetic you can still use wall stencils if you rent, they just peel off.

I'm ok, refused pain killers in proper hard core fashion me, I HATE medical interventions (oh the irony) so wanted to feel pain to see if it worsened. It died down quite a bit by 8 last night, back slightly this am. Area feels really inflamed but I'm not surprised, very little blood yesterday and none new since last night. And I've had a bm which means I'm relaxed. Listened to baby's heartbeat last night and this morning. Fingers crossed I go home today.
Can't believe I'm in this situation.

Memphisbelly · 03/10/2014 09:11

Frenetic we long term rent luckily from a friends dad so we treat it like our own, he cane to service boiler once to find a massive hole in the wall where the plasterboard came down when I took all the kitchen tiles off Blush
If you are unable to decorate most wall stickers can be peeled off without leaving marks on the walls. There are some really nice ones about.
