Unfortunately we're in a 2 bed property so baby will be in with us until it's sleeping through and then will be sharing with his brother. Looking at moving but as I'm in housing association it's quite difficult as not many want to downsize. Just a waiting game.
Glad your feeling as well as can be expected viper.

BanglesSpangles · 03/10/2014 09:27

Morning all, and monprning tired- another date twin with me- think thats septuplets now!

BanglesSpangles · 03/10/2014 09:30

Monpring, eh?! Excellent typo action there- morning was what i meant to say, obviously!

Memphisbelly · 03/10/2014 09:31

Vope hope the swelling goes down quickly and you get to go home.
Donkir your ds will love sharing though I am sure! Baby will share with ds when he goes into a bed so I can have my spare room back I had just painted and carpeted it to be my little bit of sanctuary when I fell pg Grin

Ds is off sick today, never had a sickness bug then gets one once he starts school...I have no milk or bread in the house so need to go shopping

Memphisbelly · 03/10/2014 09:34

Viper not vope

kkllww · 03/10/2014 10:26

Hope you feel better soon viper; glad it all went well.

For those with kids already, i was wondering when you are planning on telling them (or if you've told them already)? I've got a just turned 2yo who won't really understand and was planning on leaving it until a month or 2 before the due date as thought telling him now was too soon, but everyone keeps asking me if we've told him :-/

donkir · 03/10/2014 10:32

Kk I told my ds the day we found out but he's 12 so understood.
I nanny for a 4yr old and a 23month old.
The 4yr old guessed just before my 12 week scan as I was getting big. He's fine. I keep him involved by showing him how big baby is using apps. He knows baby is coming after Christmas.
The 23 month old points at my ever expanding belly and I tell him there's a baby in there but he's really not grasped it yet. Just keeps touching belly and saying "cake" Grin

Memphisbelly · 03/10/2014 10:33

Kkllww we told ds at 12 weeks because he is old enough to realise I was getting fat. At 2 I would leave it as long as you can, my friend has just had a baby and has a 2 yo and he still doesn't understand the baby came from mummy

JacktheLab · 03/10/2014 10:35

We told our three year old from the start so he sort of knows but I don't think he's going to like the reality in febGrin

Memphisbelly · 03/10/2014 10:51

Ds said before we told him everytime he saw a pg woman you haven't got a baby in there have you mummy?...just cake Grin he is so desperate for a baby to live eith us he begs for hum to come early 'but mummy the baby would really like christmas he needs to come then' had to explain this is his special xmas as it will just be him and then next year he will have a brother

L1ttleMissGiggles · 03/10/2014 11:45

Morning Ladies, Hope you are all well! The weekend is almost upon is whoop whoop! I am off shopping with a friend tomorrow, can't wait!

I would like to pick your brains if I may please.....I've had killer heartburn the last few days, hate taking the chalky tablets, they set my teeth on edge. Has anyone any thing they can recommend that I try? TIA xxx

Memphisbelly · 03/10/2014 11:47

L1ttle you can get liquid gavascon that docs would recommend over the tablets or you can also get a one a day tablet from doc that sorted me out last time

L1ttleMissGiggles · 03/10/2014 11:51

Thanks Memphis will give the gaviscon a try, at least it will be over and done with quicker than the tablets. Will see how I get on with before going to the docs, hoping its just a passing phase (fingers crossed) Thanks for your quick reply! x

Memphisbelly · 03/10/2014 11:52

If liquid works (I say liquid it is sooooo thick) then you can get it on prescription to save a few quid

Bangonthedoor · 03/10/2014 12:05

We told DD straight away, she's now 2.5 and picks up on EVERYTHING...seriously nothing gets passed her Grin so I didn't want our families (who we told early on) talking about it in front of her, because she'd hear it and I didn't think it would be fair. I want her to feel as involved as possible. She came to my early scan at 8 weeks and broke the news to family for me Grin

I think it just completely depends on each child. DD is always cuddling my bump and asking me to open it so baby can come out! She knows there will be a baby at some point but I don't think she knows it's not going to be quite the same as her dollies Wink

kkllww · 03/10/2014 12:08

Haha on the cake comments! Donkir, that 23 mo must be very observant in noticing your stomach's growing. My son is totally oblivious; I could go and collect him in an afro wig and dame edna specs and i'm not convinced he'd notice...

Bangonthedoor · 03/10/2014 12:16

Haha that really made me laugh re the wig and specs kkllww

L1ttleMissGiggles · 03/10/2014 12:19

Thanks Memphis, your a star! x

BanglesSpangles · 03/10/2014 12:39

Eww eww eww, just had a shower and my nipples have gone all yellow and crusty. Feeling glam

Memphisbelly · 03/10/2014 12:43

Bangles mine did that the other week...they resembled Ritz Crackers! Grin
I have just eaten half a block of chedder.....I really want a proper cheeseboard
Ds is in the bath. I really should get dressed

Bimberley · 03/10/2014 12:43

Feel your pain on heartburn! I've had it all day everyday since about 14 weeks! Drives me mad!

BanglesSpangles · 03/10/2014 12:47

Seriously, i just told dh they were resembling hobnobs

L1ttleMissGiggles · 03/10/2014 12:59

Ah Bimberley I've only had it a few days and I've had enough. Have you found anything that works to ease it? You can see why its us Ladies that have the Babies, Men would crumble at all the rubbish we have to put up with. Just think, it will be worth it in the end. x

Memphisbelly · 03/10/2014 13:00

Grin @ hobnobs!

I used cussions bump cream it was first thing to actually get rid of crusty nips.

bagofsnakes · 03/10/2014 15:00

Hey kkllww I've been gradually filtering the news to my 2.4 month old since the 12 week scan. We got two books from Amazon, one called My New Baby and another by the same author called Waiting for Baby. They are perfect for 2 year olds and we used them to start to have a conversation about the baby in my tummy. He now asks everyone he meets if they have a baby in their tummy and also asks if he has a baby in his tummy and if he can get in into my tummy - very cute! I think he's getting the idea, slowly.
