haha- she was probably itching to- I am a grave disappointment to my MIL where housework is concerned, but usually have enough advanced warning if she's coming round so i can at least hide things and spray polish around to give an air of cleanliness Grin

Memphisbelly · 01/10/2014 17:42

Haha sound like me...we only ever have houses with a downstairs loo...no one is allowed upstairs ever. The dog fets locked in the kitchen so the kitchen is out of bounds so I just throw shake and vac down and hoover Grin
Realisitcally if I had a proper half an hour to blitz my house would be spotless....but since being pregnant i canbjot be bothered!
My mil's house is always spotless but after using her loo and finding a floater to greet me I don't give a damn Grin my toilets are cleaned every day without fail.....I have a weirdness about toilets.
Ds has now gone for the evening.....my plan is to have a quick clean downstairs then I have bought a 'posh' pizza to scoff alone and then may try and be bothered to sew....if only it could be made better with a few glasses of red or a few beers

I haven't been around in a few weeks, nice to hear everyone is progressing and getting scans done. DH hasn't been it any of mine and I think I've racked up at least 10 by now. They've given me prints to being home and the consultant did an unexpected switch to 3d which was nice. It's kind a alienish though!

Going into my 3rd week of bedrest (still bleeding and no reason found for it) and can't see being able to go back to work any time soon. Thankfull I have been approved for short term disability which pays out 60% of salary, but stuffs up our savings for our end of year trip. We are thinking we'll just cancel it last minute if my dr recommends we don't go. Baby is still doing great, growing well and strong heartbeat. Seeing the consultant again tomorrow and I wish they would be able to find out what's happening. In the meantime I'm on iron supplements and watching a lot of trash on netflix. I have photos to sort but can't motivate myself to get it done. House is a mess, walking around with a squint takes care of that. Have also been attempting to finish a am scarf I started for DS2, 2 yrs ago. I started in stripes but am not sure how to tie in the ends (novice knitter) so have switched to one colour for the bulk of it with 3 stripes either end. I'll worry about finishing when I get the length done. I might run out of wool though.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 01/10/2014 19:34

I feel like I've been AWOL lately got so much going on at work but at least it's making the days go quickly!!

HerRoyal so sorry to hear the bleeding is continuing poor you! But baby looks lovely!!

I had my 20 week scan today we didn't find out what we are having but I'm sure she said he at the end!! Baby does have a slightly bigger tummy so need to have a diabetes check all is ok. Hope it doesn't affect the baby!

We're off work for two days (wedding cake baking tomorrow, wedding attendance friday), so was honestly honestly planning on doing it tomorrow, but front room is too full of boxes now to bother- shame that!

Glad to hear the baby is doing well, royal. Id imagine even netflicks gets boring after a while (cant believe ive said that!)

Right, quick sit down with dinner, then its time to make battenberg

Viperama · 01/10/2014 19:41

Evening ladies, pants news from me tonight. Went for my fortnightly cervical length scan this afternoon and its shortened significantly, so I've been admitted to hospital right away and will have a stitch put in tomorrow, then 2 weeks bed rest and we reasses. Am terrified, feeling bean so much these days, not its fault my cervix is shite Sad

Memphisbelly · 01/10/2014 19:55

Viper oh no Sad hope it all goes well tomorrow and rest up

donkir · 01/10/2014 19:56

Viper was your cervix within normal range at the beginning of pregnancy? I've got my 2nd cervical measurement scan on Tuesday and hoping things are ok.
I'm sorry things aren't going so great for you. Are you having the stitch through your tummy or vaginly?

Viperama · 01/10/2014 20:30

Hi Donkir, I've been having it measured since 12 weeks, so this was my 5th appointment, it's been fine until now

Viperama · 01/10/2014 20:31

Vaginally I believe

HerRoyalNotness · 01/10/2014 22:02

Hope it goes ok tomorrow viper

JacktheLab · 02/10/2014 06:30

Viper everything crossed for you! I'm sure that a friend of mine had the same problem, her twins have just turned eight, so try not to worry too much!

Will you have enough to keep you entertained whilst you are on bed rest for those two weeks?

JacktheLab · 02/10/2014 06:35

How is everyone else?

I don't have much to post at the moment, baby is moving about every day, I still very very tired a lot of the time, but that's got a lot to do with a nearly three year old I think!

We are changing over the spare room this weekend into DS's new bedroom and putting the nursery back so it's suitable for the baby, looking forward to getting our house back to it's normal state (note not tidy - just normal!!)

I was wondering how many of you are on facebook and whether anyone else thought a secret facebook group might be a fun idea? I have one for my first antenatal group and it's been a lifesaver. The advantage of it being secret is that you can post photos and comments, only the members of the group can see the posts, so it's a great place to share stuff etc. Just an idea...

donkir · 02/10/2014 06:56

Good luck today viper. Thanks
I'd be up for that Jack. Would be nice to put some faces to the comments.

longbottom · 02/10/2014 08:41

Was woken up by proper kicks last night! Baby seems to be a night owl!
Day off today, have got so much to do, house is a tip, washing everywhere!! What fun!

angeltattoo · 02/10/2014 08:42

Hi everyone,

Sorry for my long absence, I have been busy with work/interview/promotion/studying and DD.

We had our 20 week scan and it showed a healthy baby boy SmileSmileSmile

I am so shocked (nub theory said girl) and delighted. It's still sinking in. I feel so lucky, one of each, DH can have the snip now Wink

It feels real now after the scan, and it's flying by second time round, which is sad as I plan for this to be my last pregnancy.

Re: above someone (sorry, on phone) concerned about tearing - I had a 2nd degree tear, didn't feel it at the time, it healed quickly and with no problems at all.

My friend had a 9lb 9oz baby at the weekend! She's my new hero Shock

I bought some newborn babygrows and hats yesterday to celebrate. Can think about names now too.

BanglesSpangles · 02/10/2014 08:44

Morning all. Good luck for today, viper. Im not overly au fait with the cervix stitching- what does it do!

I'd be up for a facebook group- as much as the anonymity here is quite cool, i do wonder what people look like!

2 tiers of wedding cake made, so time to heave myself off the sofa and go make the third, then commence operation decoration. Laters all!

BanglesSpangles · 02/10/2014 08:45

Ooh one last one, congrats angel- will spreadsheet you up

kkllww · 02/10/2014 09:53

Good luck today viper.

Congrats royal, sunshine & angel!

Sorry to hear about your bleeding royal - could it be a uterine anomoly? Reason I wondered is because I have a bicornuate uterus (diagnosed early this pg) and during my 1st pg I had lots of bleeding from 27 weeks - they didn't know the cause as the issue is difficult to diagnose when you're more than a few wks pg.

freneticfox · 02/10/2014 10:03

Loving the scan images, folks!

I have an issue with my midwife... she's damned near impossible to get hold of. I've had a couple of questions in the past few weeks and she never answers the number I have for her, nor does she get back to messages. Not really sure what to do?

She was quite flippant at my 16w appointment as well, when I asked about previous treatments I'd had for cancerous cells on my cervix she said it wouldn't be an issue and I didn't need to bring it up - but I've heard quite the contrary.

Who on earth am I meant to contact since it's seemingly not possible to get hold of her?

donkir · 02/10/2014 10:15

My midwives are also ridiculous to get hold of. Have you not got a hospital number you can call on your notes instead Frenetic.
How many treatments and what type on your cervix depends on if you need to be seen by a consultant. I had CIN3 and had lots of biopsies and 2xLetz treatments. I'd made the mistake of googling and you come across quite a lot of scary American sites.
It's really not as scary as you think.
I had an internal to measure cervix at 16 weeks and will have another next week.

freneticfox · 02/10/2014 10:18

That's what I thought I'd have donkir - but I had a consultant appointment and he said he didn't think I needed any kind of examination - despite the fact I've have multiple treatments...

Viperama · 02/10/2014 10:35

Thanks for good luck wishes all. Still waiting for doc to see me, nil by mouth, but no idea when procedure is.

Frenetic if you still have notes from your cervical cell removal, check the depth of tissue removed. If not contact condultant who did it to check. If it 10mm or more escalate ASAP. This is why I am sat here in hospital today, I had a loop cone biopsy 8 years ago. So since 12 weeks I've had fortnightly scans to check my cervical length. It's been going well until my scan yesterday, the length has decreased by half in two weeks. So here I am. If its less than 10mm they can advise, but you should have been referred to a prem clinic to discuss this. Sorry if I panic you, just want to make sure your babbette is ok xx

Memphisbelly · 02/10/2014 10:40

frenetic I would personally go docs and request a different mw. there will be several for your area

hanflan · 02/10/2014 11:58

Gorgeous scan pics herroyal and littlemiss!

viper So sorry to hear about your short cervix, hopefully the stitch sorts things out and the rest of the pregnancy progresses like normal! Let us know how you get on.

frenetic definitely get a second opinion on the cervix situation... my midwife is quite hard to get hold of too but I just call the antenatal day clinic often (at the hosp) if I have any questions and they are very helpful.
