Do belly buttons definitely always 'pop'? I've always had a really deep button and even now, it's still definitely an innie - at 23 weeks.

My office is also really hot! There's a teeny tiny window in there which lets pretty much no air in! Might see if I can check the temp some how tomorrow.

frenetic my belly button never popped with DD and it is still very much an innie at the moment, so we'll see! I can't remember what you're having frenetic because my theory is belly buttons tend to pop more with boy pregnancies?!

As for Vit D, I don't take any supplements myself but I do give DD vitamins daily which include vit d (this came after advice from the HV after she said children lack in it)

Ordered the surf board today to go with my surf pram, another thing ticked off!

I know I'm a bit late joining in the cot conversation but I'm also hoping to get the chicco co-sleeper. I think that is the one anyway. It has a carry case and we are thinking we might even be able to take it with us on the plane when we move to Oz. I am really keen on a co-sleeper because I don't want to fall asleep feeding and accidentally co-sleep unsafely like I did a few times last time. I'd rather plan it so I can co-sleep safely and preserve my sanity since I won't be able to catch up on sleep in the day thanks to 3 yo DS.

I'm taking pregnancy vits still. I figure worst case scenario I've just got expensive wee! I've just started DS on vits too since I discovered that they are free in my borough.

bagofsnakes · 22/10/2014 19:59

things moving around a lot was actually one of the major reasons we got a cosleeper last time. Ours also came with a travel bag which was perfect as we had to move house when DS was 5 or 6 weeks old, stay with the MIL for a month and then move to the UK when he was 10 weeks old. I think it was also really nice for him, everything around him was always changing but he always had the same place to sleep.

freneticfox · 22/10/2014 20:23

bang - I'm having a boy - so yet another pregnancy myth he's crushed, hehe. That said I keep reading that boys lie low down and he seems to really enjoy booting my cervix...

BanglesSpangles · 22/10/2014 20:49

I've still got my innie and am having a boy. That said, I really don't think I've popped out yet properly so there is still time for the belly button to make an appearance

In fact, I'm vaguely wondering whether to be concerned- have only put on 7lb... I read something that said to expect to put on a lb a week from the second trimester, so maybe I'm just saving it all up for the third tri

bagofsnakes · 22/10/2014 21:13

Bangles you could well be doing that. When I was pregnant with DS, throughout my first and second tri people would always say things like 'Oh, you barely look pregnant', 'Oh, your bump is very neat', 'Oh, you should probably be eating more'... Then I got into the third tri and they stopped and when I walked into a room they went very quiet, and their eyes went very big. They didn't say anything and they didn't need to, their faces said it all, their faces said 'Dear God, HOW is that only one woman!'

jenmcspen · 22/10/2014 21:13

Bangles, I've only put on 8lb so far but midwife doesn't seem concerned so am presuming must be fine. is all bump and boobs anyways! Grin
25+5 here now

HerRoyalNotness · 22/10/2014 21:21

bag that made me chuckle! When I had DS2 I had to go see HR at head office and although she didn't say anything to me, she said to DH it looked as though I was going to burst! And I still had 6 weeks to go.

With both DSs my belly button just went flat, but another friend with a DS popped out.

I've put on 12lbs so far, to be fair have done zero exercise, barely moving. Haven't been weighed for 2 wks now, would be interested to see if I've put on anymore.

BanglesSpangles · 22/10/2014 21:23

Hahaha, bagof, that made me lol

Jen, i was hoping the midwife would confirm or deny if it was a prob- stillhsve 2 weeks til my next appointment mind you, so i could be like the side of a house by then!

BanglesSpangles · 22/10/2014 21:26

Oh god have just remembered taking the mick out of my sister in the week- she gabe me some poncho jumper things thst she said she wore ehen she was too big to do up her pregnant person coat and i scoffed and said 'blimey you really were massive, werent you!'...tempting fate much?! Thankfully even though she was freaking massive, her baby actually wasnt!

BanglesSpangles · 22/10/2014 21:27

Also, how many typos in one post?! Well done me

bagofsnakes · 22/10/2014 21:35

It alright, it's late and no one is marking it :-)

Yes, my DS wasn't a big baby at all, it was all me. To be fair, a good amount of it was water retention ( I got horrific swelling of my hand, legs, feet and face) and I wee'd it all out in the days after birth. The rest was cake.

This time I gradually building an all over layer of chub, maybe for warmth as it's a winter baby. A nice fat blanket to keep us both warm.

bagofsnakes · 22/10/2014 21:36

HerRoyal - How's life on the ward? x

Bangonthedoor · 22/10/2014 22:52

I've put on over a stone already Shock
Might get someone to weigh me at work tomorrow if the weighing chair is out. That was 5 weeks ago so I dread to think how much I've put on now!

DD was 8lb 7oz so a fair size Grin although I too had so much water! My night sweats went on for 6 weeks post birth to get rid of all my extra water! Ugh...as much as I am grateful for everything, I am surely dreading the fat feet and legs....

Memphisbelly · 22/10/2014 23:05

I hadn't put on any weight 3 weeks ago but I saw my best mate tonight and he said I have ballooned since then! So will weigh myself tomorrow and let you know, my friends are being so lovely seeing as they are single men, they know pubs and stuff are not my bag at the mo and have been asking what food places we can visit over next 3 months so we can still do nights out!

My friends 2 year old had a poo in his nappy earlier and ds wanted to want h as 'my brother will poo so I need to see what to do' he was wretching and turned around with tears running down his face and said 'a little bit of sick came in my mouth then' Grin don't think he will be helping with nappies

amyandtom · 23/10/2014 00:28

I've not put on any weight yet but I lost around a stone with morning sickness, 24+5/6 since its now morning!

Viperama · 23/10/2014 00:54

I'm better every day thanks Sand. Feeling a bit more optimistic now baby hat reached 'viable' stage. I keep saying I don't want viable or survivable, I'm aiming for thrivable!

My sister (looking after me)on the other hand is getting a bit tetchy, she has cabin fever being cooped up with me which is understandable. I've got to kick her out more (outside of meal times when I need her) so she can clear her head.

Viperama · 23/10/2014 00:58

Oh I've an inie.
those that have done this before - will mine become an outie eventually?

It's quite funny to chart it's voyage outward each morning. Oh the things I must do to entertain myself in my horizontal world!

I can imagine an outie sticking out would really hurt if knocked, I sympathise ladies!

HerRoyalNotness · 23/10/2014 01:02

viper glad to hear you've reached the good milestone, hang in there!

memphis your DS sounds a right character

bag it's going okay. DH surprise visited me today, he must have senses I really needed it. I got neonatal to talk to him so they didn't do it on Friday with the DC here. We've got the scary talks out of the way and the crying (me) so onward and upward. I asked if we can have more frequent growth scans, normally every 3 weeks, as due to my problems this will be the main indicator of how well she is doing. He agreed and will talk to my obs team about a weekly scan instead. 22+5, Rollon Friday! Should get steriods next week, dr said they make about a weeks difference in lung maturity so it is really a big deal.

sandulacek · 23/10/2014 06:29

Keep cooking viper . My mum's coming to keep me company for 4.5 days next week...I hope it won't get too intense and we both survive. Cervix scan for me today...the joys.

Herroyal hang in there too! When I was in hospital and tried to walk around my DH thought it was a good idea to try the stairs. So went down one flight only to end up on the floor where neonatal was. I just started crying seeing the sign for it!

BanglesSpangles · 23/10/2014 07:55

Memphis, your ds sounds hilarious!

I must admit, I've always preferred kids once they get to about 3 upwards- the stuff they come out with is just too funny! Sure it's just me but I've always thought little tiny babies were a bit... boring!

bagofsnakes · 23/10/2014 08:49

Viper my belly button is an innie and it remained so throughout my last pregnancy, didn't seem even close to changing. Glad to hear that you're doing well.

Herroyal, I can't imagine how difficult those conversions must be.

I'm willing all these babies to stay put until until at least Christmas. Damn it, I'm ordering them! Only not sure how much authority I have...

bagofsnakes · 23/10/2014 08:54

Bang I'd almost forgotten about the post-baby night sweats. Ugh! They were unpleasant. I'd actually have to get up in the middle of night (not that I wasn't doing plenty of that anyway) and change my nightdress as I'd be sodden, the sheets too. I only remember them lasting a week or two though. Another thing to go on the 'Things To Looking Forward To' list Smile

Minichuch · 23/10/2014 09:34

Urgh, as a first timer, I didn't know about night sweats they sound proper attractive - not!!!

Why do people not mention these things when considering having children or is it just one of those surprises that comes with children
