Oops - just ate OH's last crunchie bar. I think he realises that if he buys any more he better not let me know! Because he's on lates we'll next be awake at the same time in each others presence on Friday when we're driving 200 miles to my moms. Must get organised before we go :-/

Memphisbelly · 21/10/2014 20:43

Well if what baby heres makes them clever or not ds blowing raspberries on my belly better make him clever Grin

LittleMissSunshine33 · 21/10/2014 21:15

My bump gets heart fm in the car on the way to and from work think he/she likes Ed Sheeran!

I have a question ... what are you putting baby to sleep in to the first few months? I've been looking at the chicco co sleeper rather than Moses basket?? Any ideas/views?

jenmcspen · 21/10/2014 21:18

Talking music, my OH found the site twinkle twinkle little rockstar which is lullaby versions of loads of popular music, especially rock etc. Is very chilled out. Smile
Sadly no chocolate this end, or at least not much. Have suffered with GERD for 2 years and chocolate gives me hideous heartburn Sad I miss crunchies!!!

jenmcspen · 21/10/2014 21:20

little miss we are planning on using a moses basket we have been given. just need new mattress. a friend hired a co-sleeper style cot that clipped to the bed and didn't rate it. think it is prob quite personal as to what suits u best tho.

Memphisbelly · 21/10/2014 21:23

Littlemiss my friend has one of those and loves it, will last longer than a moses basket too as its more like a crib size.
We have a moses basket for downstairs when he is tiny and a gliding crib for our room then cot for his own room.

Memphisbelly · 21/10/2014 21:25

I personally am not into co sleeping (I like to starfish in bed) but my friend says that chicco one is nice as the side goes up to make it a normal crib too if you don't get on with co sleeping

BanglesSpangles · 21/10/2014 21:27

Ive got a moses basket on loan from my sister... Must get a new mattress for it actually! That said, my niece wouldt actually sleep in said basket- she spent the first few months in the carrycot off of the pram!

donkir · 21/10/2014 22:14

We have a crib for our room as looked bigger than Moses basket. We were going to get Moses basket so we could use it downstairs but have decided to use the carry cot from the pram as I can't see any difference safety wise.

Bangonthedoor · 21/10/2014 22:15

littlemiss my bump gets heart fm too on the commute to and from work!

We'll be using the Moses basket we had for DD but I've always wondered about those co sleepers. DD slept with me a few times when she was less than a week old. It was completely safe and lovely but it soon changed and she didn't want to be with me anymore and still wouldn't sleep in my bed now even if I asked her too Grin

Ticktick · 21/10/2014 22:21

Evening all, we've ordered a Snuzpod for our little one. I liked the idea of cosleepers as i suffer with back problems. thought this might be easier as the crib will be same level as bed. It's lovely, can't wait for it to arrive :) will keep a Moses basket downstairs for naps.

Minichuch · 21/10/2014 22:37

Our friends are giving us the Moses basket that they had so just need a new mattress, managed to pick up a cot in kiddicare when it was shutting store for £25 so that will go in spare room for later and am going to use carrycot from travel system for downstairs.

Has anyone looked into newborn photos or had them done previously - was it worth it?

Memphisbelly · 21/10/2014 22:41

Mini I didn't have any took professionally but one thing I did do with ds was take a photo a day for the first month to show how he changed in the four weeks, I will be doing that again this time.

Viperama · 21/10/2014 23:51

We're getting a sleepyhead to use inside the cot for baby to sleep in from the start, in it's own room. I'll start off the night in bed with OH and move to nursery when I'm summoned, and sleep on sofa bed in there until baby starts sleeping through.
We've a two bed one level flat so I'm not getting a Moses basket or anything else, just cot for baby in its own room.

bagofsnakes · 22/10/2014 08:04

I can certainly recommend a co-sleeper cot (we have a 'co-sleeper' brand), well, it worked for us anyway. It was wonderful having him so close, I could sleep with my hand on his chest for those first few nights when I was convinced that he was going to stop breathing. Also means that I didn't have to move for those endless night feeds. DS was pretty underweight and had to feed every two hours, even through the night, for his first two weeks... Why am I doing this again?! Smile DS1 slept in the co-sleeper until he was 6 months, we then bought a cot and set it up by our bed, and then moved him and the cot into his room at around 9/10 months.

Not pulled it out and set it up again yet, probably won't get around to it until Christmas.

I think you're right viper, we lived in a flat with DS and we only needed one place for him to sleep, although now we have two floors I'm thinking about a moses basket for downstairs.

hanflan · 22/10/2014 08:08

Ahhh I can't keep up! Haha loving the music chat. My MIL asked if we had been playing classical music to bump. Errrr nope, but she does enjoy bopping and kicking away to Tool, 10 Years, Deftones, Chevelle.... She has excellent taste ;) don't think MIL approved though!
In terms of sleeping we are just using a Moses basket next to our bed. I'm far too nervous to co-sleep although I like the idea. I just roll around all night!

bagofsnakes · 22/10/2014 08:29

A co-sleeper crib is nice that way because baby isn't actually in the bed with you, I think it's a happy medium. Although, if I'm honest, once DS was a little bigger we did do an awful lot of actual co-sleeping just as, for us, it meant we all got a bit more sleep. Can't say I particularly like sleeping with him now though as he is such a wiggler! Luckily he is a wonderful sleeper these days and loves his cot so that's where he stays.

Memphisbelly · 22/10/2014 08:35

my dh will actually fully roll on ME and not wake so a tiny baby would have no hope!
ds snored so loud he was banished to other side of bedroom within a week of birth so I could sleep

blankfornames · 22/10/2014 08:37

Jeepers ladies, you are fast movers!

Mini, you are lucky to be still in your own clothes! I went for a curry with my friend last night, afterwards I thought I was physically going to explode. How am I going to get twice as big as I am right now!! I feel the waddle it fairly imminent!

As I have varicose veins (since before pregnancy) I have to wear support maternity tights everyday. The task of putting them on is getting more and more difficult (humorous) everyday!! The grunts and groans out of me! Wink

Bimberley · 22/10/2014 09:38

I can never keep up with this thread!
We will be using a moses basket by our bed and then a cot when we move.

Can you believe its already nearly November! It's going so quick to me!
26 weeks tomorrow! Can't wait to get to 30 and be in the final stretch!

freneticfox · 22/10/2014 09:38

Morning all!

I know us preggos generally feel the heat more than others, but am I being unreasonable in thinking 24.5c at 9.30am in October is too warm for an office?

OP posts:
hanflan · 22/10/2014 09:56

frenetic that is REALLY warm! And that's coming from someone who likes the office warm! haha the warmest ours is ever allowed to go up to is 22 degrees!
bagofsnakes I love the idea of the co-sleeping cribs as like you say, you get the benefit of co-sleeping without the risk... unfortunately we couldn't quite stretch the budget, even to hire one was too much! Our moses basket was a bargain so will stick to that for now :)

bagofsnakes · 22/10/2014 09:56

Frenetic that is WAY too warm! I'd talk to someone about that.

blank I'm with you there. 25 weeks and this baby is taking up way too much room already. Know it's a fair bit bigger than the last as I'm pretty much out of all pre-preg clothing apart from super baggy nightwear. Last time I could still wear some pre-preg tops until much later but this time all my tops keep rolling up already. Mini I can totally understand your desire for a bump but on the plus side you get a little bit longer of not having to scrounge around to put together a maternity wardrobe. Although I'm pretty excited about getting my maternity coat, just ordered it!

bagofsnakes · 22/10/2014 10:00

hanflan and Moses baskets are portable and pretty to look at so plenty of advantages there. I'm trawling our local gumtree for a Moses basket to put downstair but no luck yet.

freneticfox · 22/10/2014 10:00

I always complain about the heat in here - but I get shot down because I'm literally the only person in here who prefers it a little cooler (I have an issue with auto immunity so I do tend to overheat easily).

Recently though I started to wonder if I really was just being over reactive and bought a digital temp monitor in. It's just hit 25c, and everyone else is still in jumpers.

What on earth is wrong with me?
