Balls- heartburn, obviously

Memphisbelly · 05/10/2014 21:38

Bangles oh that poor baby being subjected to Primarni and not Armani Grin
I love Next and Asda, Sainsbury's clothes are nice but the babygrows are too long in the leg for our short family legs Grin
M&S are lovely but pricey....they are left for my mum to buy. i have 3 Jojo Maman Bebe baby grows which were £15 each which is obsene but I have only bought one myself Grin
Last time I love pumpkin patch but its closed down now, it was on verge of closing down when I had ds so I got lots of bargains.
I bought a Mamas and Papas blanket last time for £35 and I was so scared of losing it I never ever used it!

Northernrose · 05/10/2014 21:40

Goodness, sand and viper what a worrying time you have been having, and frenetic with your back pain. Sending restful and getting well soon vibes your way. Hope the drama settles down for everyone asap. Quietish weekend here and am grateful for that reading about these difficult challenges you've all been going through

All the best for scans tomorrow and this week, we're on wed, can't wait!!

GeekyHybrid · 05/10/2014 21:42

Apologies bangles, your spreadsheet is much appreciated in this quarter even if I forget who to give credit to! You'd probably like the OCD fix I got this weekend: 1 block of cheese weighing 5kg, divide into 80 equal(ish) pieces. My chopping board with the ruler along the edge came in useful ;-D

BanglesSpangles · 05/10/2014 21:55

Aah no worries- im always struggling to keep whose who straight in my head on here! Excellent cheese ruler work- think id like that chopping board... And some cheese

Memphisbelly · 05/10/2014 22:05

Oh bangles I want cheese, I normally hate chedder but am eating tons of it

BanglesSpangles · 05/10/2014 22:09

Im totally free and easy with my cheese eating habit- everything has a place, including some right old crap, like mini baby bels, and mild cheddar. Got to a disgusting point when i realised yesterday that literally 8 out of my last ten meals have included cheese. Really have to rein myself in!

jenmcspen · 05/10/2014 22:11

I love cheese! Grin Am sure we can justify large quantities of it as part of baby bone strengthening diet! Hehe!

Memphisbelly · 05/10/2014 22:13

Bangles I also Love babybels! On my last baby thread with ds we had a cheese lover and a speadsheet lover haha!

Bangonthedoor · 05/10/2014 22:43

I've got a fridge full of babybels at the moment! And had a couple today Grin

Viperama · 05/10/2014 23:41

I just came on to check before bed, having a nibble of cheddar, nice timing Grin

Burmama · 06/10/2014 06:49

Hello ladies! I haven't been on in awhile but just thought I'd dip my toes back in. So happy to read about everyone's scans, kicks and see the pics! Here's my 3-D one from the 20-week scan (although actually was about 22 weeks at the time). We have confirmation - definitely a boy! He was all about rubbing his head, scratching his forehead and swallowing fluid getting his big mouth wide open - so amazing to see!! He's measuring all big (still within normal ranges though) and - heaves a sigh - head width is biggest of all. Ouch. My husband has a massive head, I knew this would happen. Apart from that, feeling pretty positive. Hope everyone else is feeling good, 23+4 here today! :) Also, I know this is a long shot but are there any other Feb ladies in Dublin (or anywhere in Ireland really?) And can whoever is organising the Fbook group PM me, I'd like to join!

JacktheLab · 06/10/2014 06:53

Burmama,

I've pmd you.

I'm in Perthshire, might be the closest to Ireland (although useless really anyway!)

Fab photo :)

Bangonthedoor · 06/10/2014 07:23

thingsarelookingup good luck for your scan today! Smile

South of England here burama sorry! Although, since the subject of Dublin has arisen...I'm surprising DP with a trip there for his birthday in November. We're staying in temple bar and neither of us have ever been so I'm just wondering if there is any must do things? I'm the worst tourist ever and always get these trips wrong! We're just there for 2 nights Smile

DD was up quite a bit last night so is having a lie in to catch up. Therefore I'm still in bed listening to the crappy weather feeling glad it's my day off Smile

BanglesSpangles · 06/10/2014 07:34

Morning all, sleepy today thanks to a 4 o clock trip to gargle salt water and sit on the sofa- have got such a sore throat- worst one in ages

Im in the east too, burmama, so not much use to you

Bang, in dublin, youve gotta do the guinness museum- even if you dont like guinness, its really interesting, and the views at the top are amazing!

Bangonthedoor · 06/10/2014 07:39

Thanks bangles! I'd heard of that but not actually looked into it. Is it an all day thing?

Burmama · 06/10/2014 07:51

Bang, Temple Bar is good for evening time and LOADS of pubs. But if you fancy getting out of the city centre during the day and seeing a bit more of outlying dublin, I highly recommend taking the DART train out to either Howth (north) or Sandycove/ Dalkey (south) - only about 30 mins in either direction. Both are lovely little coastal suburbs and gorgeous towns - best in nice weather! At Sandycove, there's a promenade, swimming area, pier and the old tower where James Joyce lived when he wrote Ulysses (now a nifty little museum) if you're into that kind of thing. I always think it's nice walking along the coast around there - and you can walk from Sandycove to Dalkey (where there are loads of good pubs and restaurants) past Bullock Harbour, which is an adorable little harbour with (often) seals. And if you're taking a stroll around the City Centre/Temple Bar, other faves include: Stephen's Green, Powerscourt Centre (a lovely shopping area inside a grand old townhouse courtyard), tea in Bewleys, a walk through Trinity College and a rattle through the Georges St Arcade. Enjoy!! :)

sandulacek · 06/10/2014 07:53

Morning all!
The day of few scans today...Bangles you might be busy tonight Smile.

I think we have lots of cheese lovers here. Cheddar is normally not high on my list but that has somewhat changed. We went to a food festival in august and they had some flavoured cheddars. You guessed it we bought all 7 flavours - even the orange and whiskey! Also in the babybel camp Grin.

Bangonthedoor · 06/10/2014 07:55

Ah thank you burmama! That's really helpful and all those things sound lovely! We've both always wanted to go - gutted I can't indulge in the guiness though Grin

Burmama · 06/10/2014 07:59

Oh, and I reckon Guinness brewery is best in the late afternoon/evening/sunset time - views from the top are lovely.

Burmama · 06/10/2014 08:02

Haha, I just read this back and realised all that walking along the coast might not be a great idea in November - it will prob be bloody freezing. But on the off-chance you have amazing weather…. And anyway all the city centre things are close together and totally do-able in any weather :)

Memphisbelly · 06/10/2014 08:03

bang on you could have a bit of Guiness...they used to tell you to drink it when pg... that museum is a must and agree about going in afternoon to get to the bar at the end for dusk.

Bangonthedoor · 06/10/2014 08:11

Eeek thank you for all the tips! Will have a look at booking the tour later on. Really looking forward to some time away

freneticfox · 06/10/2014 10:28

Good luck to those with scans this week and Burmama, what a lovely pic!

I keep going back and forth on 3D scans.. on one hand as a bit of tech geek I'd be fascinated by it, but then on the other I don't want to know what he looks like until he's handed to me.. since I found out the sex, it'd be like my surprise if that makes sense. Hm.

On bed rest today, though my midwife has rushed through an urgent physio referral. Ho-hum. Back isn't as painful as it was on Saturday, but still unpleasant when I try moving. I have a huge bottle of water, snacks, laptop and a cat curled up next to me. DH keeps checking in to make sure I'm not lifting anything; which to be honest I don't think there is any danger of!

Hope everyone has a good day :)

First of the scan posts today!

Our little bub is lovely and healthy at 20 weeks + 2. We haven't found out if it was a boy or girl although I was wavering while I was on the couch. Still sonographer said she would avoid the area entirely and said at the end that she didn't know herself. I'd hate it if someone knew and I didn't so I'm really pleased with that. Head was big and so was stomach so I have to cut down on sugar. Big head though - eek! I have an anterior placenta and won't feel as much movement as other ladies, but since I have been feeling plenty of kicks and wiggles and DH felt movement for the first time yesterday I don't really mind. Apparently having an anterior placenta makes for a better night's sleep later on?
