Wow mini and donkir thats great....what pushchairs did you go for? (You all know I love a pushchair Grin)

Tonight I have been making the roman blind for baby room.....never again, im halfway and its stressed me out....should have just bought one! Grin

Dh bought me one of those mega long pillows today as last night my hips hurt in bed, hope it is more use than I found the dream gennii pillow last time!

I have a list of things for house and baby I need to get and also some hoodies/ jumpers for me as none now fit and I was freezing at work today but I hate shopping!

donkir · 04/10/2014 20:27

We chose the cossato giggle in fable. They had £100 off in mothercare so used the saving to buy everything else.

thingsarelookingup · 04/10/2014 20:28

Great haul there donkir. Does it feel a bit more real now? We have still bought nothing aside from a newborn insert for our pram. I still want a newborn insert for my ergo sling and a co-sleeping cot. And maybe a big brother t-shirt for DS and a handful of new clothes (most will be hand me downs).

Jack I'm the same as you with the sleeping. For the past week I've been waking up at about 2 or 3 in the morning and not being able to get to sleep for an hour or so.

Frenetic I've started to get that overfull feeling when I really haven't eaten that much too. It's really annoying and I'm sure it is only going to get worse.

KK we told DS about the baby after the 12 week scan. i didn't want him to just overhear it but he has already got impatient that the baby hasn't arrived and now I think he's just starting to forget about it/assume it will never really arrive.

Jack I'm going to pm you for the Facebook group just as soon as I finish this mammoth post.

Memphis - it might be a hassle now but you'll enjoy that blind so much more for having made it yourself.

Minichuch · 04/10/2014 20:38

memphis We got the silver cross pioneer system and car seat in black - don't know what we are having and not going to find out at 20 wk scan next week

I know the full feeling - its awful - does anyone else have a issue when leaning forward or when they are sat upright for too long - it just feels like ive got a hard lump in my stomach - I know I have but still feels weird and I haven't even got a bump yet - my mum even commented that I look like ive lost weight

Memphisbelly · 04/10/2014 20:39

Thingsare....I know you are right Grin

Donkir oooh lovely my nephew has that for his ds and they love it.

Awaiting a curry....Eating this late means I probably won't sleep much tonight.

Baby is kicking and my ipad is wobbling everywhere on my lap!

Memphisbelly · 04/10/2014 20:42

Mini....oh jealous....this is my number one choice if my pushchair disappeared from the lost mysteriously Grin

Yes to the pain when I lean forward, he doesn't like it at all

freneticfox · 04/10/2014 20:50

Sooo... eventful day.

Woke up this morning and found I couldn't move without excruciating pain in my lower back. Painkillers did nothing, and it got to the point where I was yelping every time I tried to sit up. Couldn't get through to the local mat unit, so called 111 - who sent an ambulance. Cue massive panic from me (turns out it's a precaution in case it was a kidney infection).

Anywho, after discovering that I had a fever, the paramedic called triage and off we went to the delivery unit (the only one open at the weekends). Two hours and various tests later I was told that it's 'normal for my hip and back problems and I should refer to physio ASAP'. So yay. 19 weeks of this pain ahead? Gah.

Feeling a bit better now, I was really dejected earlier. At least a water infection would have cleared up with treatment.. this is just my body being rubbish.

Not sure what to expect from here really.

Oh no frenetic what a stressful day for you Sad
Think positive though, I has SPD last time got refered and with the exercises they told me to do and a support belt I improved loads and ended up with hardly any pain at all.

freneticfox · 04/10/2014 20:57

To be honest I was expecting difficulty later on and was set to see physio at 25 weeks (I have arthritis and hypermobility), but a bit upset it flared up so soon. Little monkey inside was SO still this morning as well which really added to my worry - I've been feeling a lot of wriggling this week - but after we left the hospital he started bopping away.

Evening all,

I've added a few other peeps to the facebook group, taken a bit of time as the mammoth room move is taking longer than it should, bloody small new build houses, so hard to fit a bed, chest of drawers, bedside cabinet and bookcase into what is supposed to be a double bedroom - argh!!!

I've decided to put a single bed into the nursery so we still have a spare bed as we used the spare bed a lot when DS was little, gave my DH somewhere to retreat to when DS was fussing alot overnight and he had to go to work the next day, makes things tight but I'm hoping it will be useful!

I will try to post some photos tomorrow, DS's room is looking good, proper little boy's room now :) Nursery is a pale yellow, no plans to change the walls or anything, just going to turn the cot bed back into a cot.

DH and I agree that we really need a bigger house, though we need to wait till I'm back at work in 2016 till we can start looking.

Frenetic, feel better soon! I've got a few aches and pains which are nothing compared to what you are going through it sounds!!! Last time my doc prescribed extra strength co-codemol, maybe something like that might help?

Watching a terrible film on CH4 at the moment, we saw it in the cinema before DS was born, DH has just remarked how terrible the dialogue is, but he's still loving watching it again!

Northernrose · 04/10/2014 22:46

Sorry to hear about your day frenetic hope that things improve soon and that physio helps Brew Cake for you, me thinks!
Jack that's a lovely idea to post some pics, please do! Haven't thought at all about what we'll do once baby is out of our room...dds share a big room so could potentially have all three in there with a set of bunk beds, or perhaps change our study/office into a wee bedroom. Suppose I should maybe think about these things as I can't imagine how long it would take to sort out and move our study!! Scan this Wednesday, can't wait. Hope everyone else is enjoying their shopping and nesting sounding weekends!!

Viperama · 05/10/2014 00:08

Greetings from the couch!
We've been nesting for some weeks now, prepping our flat which was clearly a bachelor pad when we bought it.
I'm still abstaining from buying baby gear though, I've my mothercare wish list ready, need to do john Lewis one. But will prob wait until 30 weeks as I just can't feel like this is going to happen yet. It's awful, but this week has really taken the wind out of our sails.
Baby does have a nickname now though, Igy, using letters of m/f name. Couldn't bear calling the baby 'it' anymore.
22 weeks tmrw, never wanted 8 weeks to fly by so much in my life, and prob never will.
Night night mommies

blankfornames · 05/10/2014 07:15

Morning, Frenetic that sounded scary for you. I hope that nasty pain stays away.

I haven't bought a thing yet for Bean. I have a few handed down babygrows to start off with, but seems like an unreal dream to have to go & buy stuff for our baby! Although I feel kicks, it's hard to get the head around that there's a proper little person in there! Bet the scan tomorrow will make things more real!
In saying that went to a gig last night & we had amazing seats just over the stage, Bean bopped the entire way through it. Think I now know my labour music!!

JacktheLab · 05/10/2014 07:55

Viper, what did the doctor's say? Hopefully everything will fly by and you'll be 30 weeks in no time!

I'm looking forward to pottering around this afternoon for an hour or two to sort through DS's clothes again and get stuff ready for the baby, I ruddy hope that this is a girl after all my buying in the last couple of weeks!!

Swimming this morning for us, although DH doesn't actually swim yet, so really it's a bouncing around in the water for twenty mins!

thingsarelookingup · 05/10/2014 08:35

Did you mean DS rather than DH doesn't swim jack??

I love that you call the baby bean blank. It brings back memories. We called DS bean until he was born. We have nicknamed this one creature. Saves us from saying it all the time. Igy is quite a cool nickname too viper. Anyone else given the baby a nickname?

Hope things improve soon frenetic. That sounds really tough.

sandulacek · 05/10/2014 08:41

Morning all! Finally caught up with all the posts...you've been busy whilst I've been out of action.

Frenetic and Viper, I'm feeling for you. And I say if anyone is not feeling well to seek medical help.

alert for not so nice story...

I was on my way home on 23rd sept and felt a sharp pain, then started to black out. I had to change my train so dragged myself to the ticket barrier and told them I wasn't feeling well. They called an ambulance, some lovely woman bought me a bottle of water. After 30 mins they chased it but LAS said they were busy and I should either ring 111 or my gp or get to hospital on my own. So I got a cab (my DH was in a&e before me!), was triaged and sent to labour ward. Got worse overnight, couldn't even get out of bed to go pee. When they started doing morning checks they realised something wasn't right...suddenly lots of doctors around me and before I know it I was being wheeled to the theatre, signing some papers they would save me first etc. Apparently the artery in my uterus ruptured which caused internal bleeding. But we're both fighters it would seem and are on the mend now, after our journey through ICU, HDU, labour ward and now antenatal! Fingers crossed for discharge tomorrow after our 20week scan. So we've seen the baby a lot and hearing the heartbeat regularly too...gosh have to find positives! Praying baby wasn't affected whilst I was in the surgery!

Will get our worth of money from netflix when I'm home!

Hopefully I haven't dumpened your Sunday too much!

sandulacek · 05/10/2014 08:43

Ehm...sorry for the long post!

blankfornames · 05/10/2014 08:51

Oh my gosh, Sands, how scary. I'm glad to hear that you are both doing well. Hope you have lots of people to take care of you.

Memphisbelly · 05/10/2014 08:51

Sand oh my goodness! So glad you are on the mend! Must have been so very scary for you! I would be complaining abiut lack of ambulance in this situation!

donkir · 05/10/2014 09:02

Sending you lots of hugs and flowers Thanks sand.

thingsarelookingup · 05/10/2014 09:17

Sands that sounds really frightening. So glad you are both alright.

LittleMissSunshine33 · 05/10/2014 09:17

Sand that must of been so scary!! Glad to hear you are both ok these little beans are tough little babies! Thanks

sandulacek · 05/10/2014 09:22

Thank you ladies! I've never really been in hospital so when they said I was going for the surgery immediately and they would keep me under the anaesthetic for a day or so...it was just so difficult to comprehend. I have my DH face in front of me, he looked so scared.

jenmcspen · 05/10/2014 09:37

So glad you are both okay. Must have been so scary! x

Bangonthedoor · 05/10/2014 09:38

Gosh sand! That must have been so awful for you and so scary. I'm so glad that you are on the mend. Rest lots Thanks
