cj awwww he's beautiful, congratulations Flowers

sazzlehopes · 19/09/2014 22:05

gun thanks for popping me on the list. I'm the 27th and expecting a boy but no need to change it now. You were right with it being dc2 though. I'll do it when the next baby arrives!
Also great to hear you had good vbacs... Thanks makes me feel good about giving it a go!

claire yes vbac this time. They said about induction at 41 weeks if nothing. But it would be a drip too here as they can control it with switching it off etc. A pessary once started isn't possible to switch off as it were-keeps releasing the drug so they would prefer me on a drip. I'm not keen, but hoping things start naturally anyway!

Shirehobbit · 19/09/2014 22:12

Congratulations, CJ and babyCJ Grin

Another one celebrating the start of maternity leave, as of today. Look, I'm even managing to post/be awake past 9pm!

I hear you Lugs, I've grown to detest leggings but the 2 pairs of maternity jeans which I bought in the first trimester to cope with the early bloating and don't fit me anymore are beckoning me, I hope it won't be too long til I can at least get back into them!!

I had this similar fear last weekend and bought two tops I don't like and wouldn't leave the house in. Ha, impulse buys. Subsequently decided to stay on sofa for 6 weeks after birth.

On the subject if which, having massive bh with stabbing fanjo pains this evening. Well, sort of half fanjo, half bladder pain. Only comfy place is the toilet right now.

ohthegoats · 19/09/2014 23:21

On positive note, this seems to have focused boyfriend's mind. He suggested if it carries on we go to hospital, then said I needed to make lists so he knows what hospital stuff is where. Good.

Mamami · 19/09/2014 23:22

Lots of sympathy with everyone in pain/feeling fat/achey & congrats to cj. We'll all be there soon and hopefully another few weeks of the dreaded leggings won't matter a jot.

Lily31 · 19/09/2014 23:48

Evening those on the pregnancy night shift.

I've had very achey stomach pains all day and poorly bowels... Ugh. It's not BH, just a really upset tummy which is keeping me awake. Worried it's not good for baby and don't know what I can take.

DP content and snoring next to me... Lucky man!

fedupofrainydays · 20/09/2014 00:42

Up for the midnight feed Grin

goats are the pains constant or on and off? Funnily enough the midwife on the anti natal ward dismissed my contractions as a UTI. My pains were really low down front and radiating across my lower back. She then totally freaked when she examined me (on my request as was in agony!) and I was 8 cm. Never seen anyone move so quick to get me to labour ward! No idea how it could have been uti as was on antibiotics for waters breakage!

Anyway.. Those worried about weight. You are unlikely to fit normal clothes right away - your body has to be given a chance to go back! Last time I bought some nice but cheap things from H&m telling myself it wasnt really about being bigger but more functional for feeding - so cross over dresses I could pull to side etc. it was about. 4 months til I was back in my jeans.
Just focus on eating well (as in regularly and healthily) and walk lots with the pram.

I too am pretty grossed out by my thighs and bum but they have also helped house this bundle of loveliness that I also don't really give a shit!!!

ohthegoats · 20/09/2014 00:50

fedup it could be something of note, could equally not be. I've taken paracetamol and come to bed, still achey but less stabbiness. I did start to time them earlier, on the quiet from boyfriend, but every 10 minutes only for an hour, rest of time no pattern. Oddly, if this is what it'll be like, even if only a taster, then I'm going to spend labour on the loo, or on hands and knees on the floor. My default positions this evening. Can't wait to get in to swim tomorrow morning and stretch weightlessly... was a busy old day.

Fingers crossed you get back home soon.

fedupofrainydays · 20/09/2014 01:04

Those positions are both great! Loo backwards hugging cistern was my first labour best position! This time it was all fours swinging arse side to side or sitting on ball leaning over bed and rolling hips side to side

Hope this is it! But may well calm down in the morning and pick up tomorrow eve - that's what mine has done both labours.

porcito · 20/09/2014 03:52

Congrats excited, he's lovely!

I still find it so strange to think there's one of those inside!

I had my 38 week check yesterday, nothing happening. Despite BH alll day, everything still closed, baby is head down but not engaged.

Last day at work today, so nice not to have to think about it! Tomorrow is my baby shower - they're HUGE here. DP just informed me that 30 of his family are coming up for it...I was thinking more of a small cake and a quiet affair. Madness.

Hope everyone who's suffering gets some sleep!

SweetPeaPods · 20/09/2014 05:42

I really really need to work on pelvic floor. Is there any hope after 2 dc?!
Just had a massive coughing fit and now have very wet pantsHmm I know it's also to do with pressure of enormous bump, and with a baby who the mw informed me is treating my bladder like a stress ball, but pretty mortifying all the same! Looks like I'm on tena lady until this stupid cough goes away.

SweetPeaPods · 20/09/2014 05:43

Porcito welcome to mat leave!
Enjoy your baby shower WineBrew

magichandles · 20/09/2014 06:34

Congratulations to all the babies, and to those who are now on maternity leave!

I've been really struggling the past week or so (35 weeks now). Very, very tired but with no real predictability to it, so can be fine one day and just on my knees the next. My blood sugars finally seem to be coming under control and I'm getting my insulin levels right, only I was a complete twat last night and forgot to take my nighttime insulin - I've had my normal mealtime dose and breakfast now, so hopefully I can get things back under control for the day.

Growth scan on Monday and then I'll hopefully see the consultant on Tuesday to discuss delivery and induction.

pusscous · 20/09/2014 06:58

Congratulations CJ, he looks very cute. Glad they didn't keep you hanging around.

Fedup glad the feeding has improved.

Goats good luck if this is the start- but hope you get a few days to rest before labour - and so your bathroom can be finished.

On one hand Dh and I ate getting envious of all you getting to meet and cuddle your little bundles of joy, but at only 35+4 need another couple of weeks ideally.

Need to order some nursing style clothes as transition but keep daydreaming about my old clothes. Jumper dresses won't really work with bf Sad

What a night from hell! I think I've had about 1/2 hr sleep since yesterday 6am! I'm wrecked.
My wee mans bloods were not behaving & his sugars went a bit off in the night. He is in an incubator at the moment as he wasn't warming up.
I have been feeding pretty much constantly from 10:30pm to try & get him into the right zone! It seems to have worked but both of us are totally exhausted. I am trying to hold out for another 10 mins to let him rest in the hope that he will have a big proper feed now. If not I will have to syringe high sugar formula into him.
It is all very stressful! Sad

Shirehobbit · 20/09/2014 08:35

Hugs for you both CJ. Exhausting and stressful - really hope your little man has turned a corner with that epic feed x

fedupofrainydays · 20/09/2014 08:36

Oh cj it's similar to what happened to us. Started with blood sugar problems. We had to do formula top up via a syringe / tube / cup (I refused to use bottle) but now back to breastfeeding only. Hang in there, it will be ok xx

YellowWellies · 20/09/2014 08:58

Well my tightenings were back with more muster last night. Enough to wake me several times. And lots more mucus plug this morning. Think it's in the offing this week maybe. It dies down in the day but ramps up at night or when walking. S/he is 35 weeks today - whoop!

cabster · 20/09/2014 09:06

Any news from bumpforme?

Thinking of you CJ and hoping baby feeds well enough to let you have a good rest today.

I woke up at 4am with an awful nagging pain in the left hand side of my bump... Which has disappeared again without trace. No BH, no ebbing and fading, just one long ache. Wonder if it was how I was lying in bed? I wasn't doing any crazy starfish manoeuvres, just lying on my side with pillows everywhere.

binkybunny · 20/09/2014 09:32

excited hope your lb is ok with your feeding so you can get home soon. fedup is that you home now? Sorry can't remember whose where!

Yellow can you sleep or walk lots today to keep your contractions going? Hope it all goes well for you!

Lily the aches and upset stomach is what I've had since Thursday eve along with hot and cold sweats. MW assured me it's just hormonal changes and perfectly ok, but go see someone if you're worried.

Bump sorry can't help on mat leave advice. By 37+ weeks though will you really want to be working? Some days I'm struggling to get off the sofa now Blush.

Hope I've not missed anyone!
