Great news you're on maternity leave Mum2!

Reckon it's time for a post-natal thread for the new mums to congregate on (and the rest of us to lurk/post on until our own babies arrive!). Can't believe how many Sept babies we're having Smile

ohthegoats · 19/09/2014 19:05

Congratulations cj! Cute. AND, you're not pregnant anymore... jealous.

MrsBadCrumble... you're having sweeps already? I was going to put it off forever for a week or so, but it's good it feels like it might kick things off.

Skipped out of work... said no presents, but still got a couple of bits for the baby and for me. I hope I get a chance to use them (lots of relaxation stuff like bubble bath and candles). Came home and the builders have actually been and done some stuff too, so boyfriend no longer cross.

So... that's it... frankly terrifying..

FatFlashingLazer · 19/09/2014 19:05

Congratulations CJ. He's extremely lovely. Flowers Great news that you're both doing well!

Captainmcgraw · 19/09/2014 19:07

Congratulations CJ he is gorgeous. So glad the section was a positive experience for you.

MundayCakes85 · 19/09/2014 19:12

Congratulations CJ what a cutie, glad everything went as well as could be. Enjoy the cuddles and the cake Grin

Lily31 · 19/09/2014 19:17

Congratulations excited proper cutie!

fedupofrainydays · 19/09/2014 19:27

Congratulations cj Grin
Have you named him? Glad all went well.

So things much improving here. Breastfeeding is coming along. I've got a lot of milk now and it's often really sore. If tests come back ok, we can go home tomorrow. If not we are in for some more treatment. Let's hope it's the former.

Whoever was talking about palpitations / racing heart, I had this a lot in the last couple of weeks.

binkybunny · 19/09/2014 19:31

Congrats excited he's adorable!

clairemiss79 · 19/09/2014 19:32

Congratulations CJ he is a cutie. Enjoy all your baby boy snuggles.
sazzle are you having a VBAC? I'm going for my 2nd vbac and my consultant said she is going to induce my labour by ARM and then syntocinon drip. Has anyone had a vbac with the drip? The midwives at the hosp seem horrified when i mention it and say it's not hospital policy. I'm scared. I'm tempted to beg for a c section :)

binkybunny · 19/09/2014 19:33

And great news fedup so pleased your both doing well and almost ready to go home!

Any news from Yellow that I've missed?

MrsBadCrumble74 · 19/09/2014 19:39

goats congrats on starting your mat leave. Enjoy! I was offered a sweep partly as things seem to be going nicely so far (gone from placenta previa and definite c section to normal placenta and any delivery possible) and maybe Consultant felt it was a good time to move things along. think my age (40) is an 'issue' and my blood sugars have normalised suggesting that maybe my placenta is fine but a bit tired. Had loads of low down pressure and period pain since the sweep so fingers crossed.........

Me23 · 19/09/2014 19:41

excited many congratulations what a gorgeous boy. I'm so pleased to hear both you and baby are well and blood sugars are good, get some yummy cake down you!

Glad goats and mum2 have gone on mat leave I hope you both get a bit of relaxation time before baby comes.

Pregnantagain7 · 19/09/2014 19:47

Congratulations cj he is absolutely gorgeous I seem to have something in my eye!! Flowers

Can't believe how many babies we have already :)

LondonJen · 19/09/2014 19:48

Awww Excited he's gorgeous. Lovely to hear that all is well with you both. Sounds like you had excellent care.

Savoury for hospital bag I was going to go for Nature's Valley granola bar thingies as like those but tried some Belvita biscuits my mum had the other day and they're quite nice too. Supposed to be 'slow release' energy if that's true it may be useful!

tak1ngchances · 19/09/2014 19:50

Yay congratulations CJ!! He is divine xx

LondonJen · 19/09/2014 19:50

mrsb87 · 19/09/2014 19:54

Oh cj he's a handsome lad! Congratulations!!

ohthegoats · 19/09/2014 20:01

badcrumble - my age is an issue too (also 40). At the moment I'm really adamant I don't want sweeps, or to book inductions etc. They've written in my notes that they'll induce between weeks 40 and 41, but as my doula put it, what are they going to do if I just don't turn up for the induction? I dunno, maybe I need to scare myself doing some reading about placenta failure or something, but at the moment I'm happily bumbling along at 39 weeks.

I was going to spend this coming week swimming/running up and down the pool, shagging etc, then have a hardcore 'get it out' reflexology session booked for Saturday. Shagging has brought on contractions and period pain in the last few weeks, to the point we've avoided it until I finished work, hoping that might work on its own. I've also booked a plumber to come Tuesday to do stuff in the bathroom - I expect that inconvenience might kick things off too!!

Maybe after this week is out of the way I'll do some reconsidering.

binkybunny · 19/09/2014 20:09

goats my mw told me today she'll be booking an induction at my 40 week appointment for 12 days later. it will mean going to a hospital I don't want to go to and not giving birth at the mlu. I nearly cried at the thought, but at least there's a few weeks to go until then.

Grannyapple · 19/09/2014 20:15

Aw, he is absolutely beautiful excited...huge congrats!!

BadgerInBury · 19/09/2014 20:20

Congratulations excited! What a little tootie. Great to hear things are easier, fedup, and hope you get to go home soon.

I've spent the day with my family interring my mum's ashes just before the first anniversary of her passing. It was sad but I'm glad that we got through it, and feeling our LO squiggling about during it all was actually a great comfort in an after-winter-comes-spring kind of way.

Home now for bath and bed, I think. My soul is doing fine but my sausage feet are pretty done in!

YellowWellies · 19/09/2014 20:31

CJ he is lush! Congratulations and enjoy your well deserved cake.

It's all slowed down here today, still contracting but irregular and not sore any more. Don't think there's much oxytocin in our house of sad yes voters especially as oh look all those campaign promises of devo max are being kicked into the long grass. A miserable teething tot also hasn't helped. So am off to walk the dog and see what happens over the next few days Smile

hefner · 19/09/2014 21:02

Congratulations CJ, glad everything went well. He's so cute!
