Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mrsb87 · 23/09/2014 10:24

Mine is on the brim too kirsti, really frustrating with less than a week to go! I'm off to the pool today . I fancy wallowing around weightless for half an hour or so.

hefner · 23/09/2014 10:27

Good luck Gun!

Kirstipops · 23/09/2014 10:28

Nope goats, doc said yesterday it's "at the brim" - exact same position as last Monday! Gun I hope they take you soon, fasting must be hard enough never mind with GD, plus the excitement of impending baby :)
Take it easy if you can granny , maybe the stress and being knackered is what's causing the cramping. V jealous of planned home births with the pool, I really hope one is available for me at the hosp when it's my time!

ohthegoats · 23/09/2014 10:46

4/5 after loads of running up and down the pool, walking around pretty much the whole time, is crap. I'm going to argue for 42 weeks until induction considered - then book loads of stuff for next week.

Think my boyfriend is a bit jittery - hard to tell, he had an interview yesterday, so far more jittery about that. He was a lot more upbeat this morning than he's been recently. But last night I started on the rlt and he asked if I was sure I wanted to do that! He's gently avoiding being anywhere near a sex situation too. We probably both need another weekk or so. Me to rest and cook and finish bathroom, him to get current work hassles out the way so he feels he can take 2 weeks off guilt free.

weeonion · 23/09/2014 10:59

Hi folks!

Its getting exciting on here.....more and more babies!
35.5 weeks and feeling huge!!
Birthing pool and home birth kit at the ready. I have a growth scan tomorrow and to check positioning.

MrsBadCrumble74 · 23/09/2014 11:05

Gaaaah my post disappeared. Apologies if this appears twice Confused Conratulations captain and good luck for those having c sections. Wishing all those still in hospital a speedy recovery.

So no news from my sweep. I've had bad back pain, loss of quite a bit of mucous plug, cramping but the little man is still comfortably installed. I went for a ctg yesterday and the little monkey decided to dance, hiccup, bounce around for over an hour so they couldn't get a good trace with a baseline. Finally over 2 hours later he decided to have a snooze and the midwives finally got a great trace. Phew!

Grannyapple · 23/09/2014 11:08

Eh goats..4/5th engaged is really good...I'm only 2/5ths engaged at the mo (36+5)...means baby is in a great position... And hopefully not long now for you!

FlipFantasia · 23/09/2014 11:21

Goats is it 4/5ths engaged or 4/5ths palpable? 4/5ths engaged is v good (can only feel 1/5th of head - 5/5ths is fully engaged).

Gun hope they get you in soon.

Could not sleep (again!) but this time my 3 hours of sleep had me awake at 4am. Listened to a podcast before getting up 4.30am to crack on with a bit more freelance work. Have an urge to bill as much as possible before baby comes! Will be knackered later with the kids but hey ho!

38 weeks today. I'm jealous of all those with babies already - I will definitely be here in Oct and no doubt past my due date of 7 Oct! I cook babies on the longer side...

Grannyapple · 23/09/2014 11:38

Ha ha I'll be the sane flip...due date is 16th October tho I'm half expecting no sign until around 26th October...just a hunch!

FlipFantasia · 23/09/2014 11:41

We can keep each other company Grannyapple! Everyone will have forgotten the births and be stressing about 6 week checks/jabs/sleeping and we'll be here, with tumble weed blowing past...

Grannyapple · 23/09/2014 11:51

Grin true flip

ldt87 · 23/09/2014 11:58

I'll probably be with you guys granny and flip I'm due on the 9th, no signs of anything, baby not engaged at all and feeling very Envy at all these lovely babies making an appearance.

However, despite promising to keep him close to home, dh's work have sent him just over 4 hours away until Thursday, which makes me a bit anxious!

FatFlashingLazer · 23/09/2014 12:11

I will still be around too I'm sure. Due date isn't until 23rd October so could potentially be a November baby for me. Really hoping not to go too far over, the aches and pains and discomfort is getting to me a bit now.

Hope the ladies having sections today get on great. So exciting to have so many babies on the thread already.

ohthegoats · 23/09/2014 12:19

Oh sorry - 4/5 palpable!! Was on phone in waiting room and not reading the right column. No change from that in the last month. Boo. It's in the right place though - so as long as it doesn't start floating around again, I'm pretty happy with the status quo. Like I say, I feel like a different person now I can choose a bit more of how much I move around, instead of being at work, so I'm much more comfortable with having some more time.

Had a bit of a terse conversation about induction. She wants me to be induced sometime next week, and wanted to book the appointment. I said I'd rather not. No mention of monitoring as an option. So, she then suggested I book a sweep with her in the next week, I said I'd rather not do that either. So, after a lecture about being 40, about higher chance of stillbirth blah blah, she agreed that I can go back two weeks today for 'further discussion'. She said at that point she'd strongly recommend I have a sweep, and that I book the induction appointment then too. She really doesn't want me to go over 42 weeks, she feels 'generous' letting me off with what we've discussed so far. Haha. My body lovely, leave it alone.

They've written my timings down wrongly today too, as 38+5 - I'm actually 41+2, so that gives me another few days in the bank if they follow their own dates, not mine.

Also, the midwife had looked at my birth plan, and said all was fine. Then the obstetrician looked at it and got all uppity about the 'No Keillands forceps' line. Went on about them being sometimes the 'right tool for the job' and how she can use them without even perineal tearing/cutting in some situations blah blah... then wrote 'discussed, happy if indicated' on the plan. I asked her to cross it out and write 'happy to DISCUSS if indicated'. Grrr. It's the only thing I've written that is a definite I want/don't want. I pointed out that I wanted to have pain free sex and no rectal incontinence, as well as a live baby with no head injuries, to which she pretty much laughed. Nice.

mum2kiss · 23/09/2014 13:01

Sounds like you had a mini battle on your hands there goats!

I arrive for my 38 week gp appointment (although it's early at 37+2) to be told she's running an hour late! Ended up waiting 90 mins! Very annoying but baby is fine, 3/5 engaged and I'm measuring 39 week. When I measured 39 weeks in my last pregnancy my daughter was born 2 weeks later....let's see what happens this time!

ohthegoats · 23/09/2014 13:06

I 'can't get' a 40 week appointment with a midwife so says my surgery - what should I do? Just ignore it? I'll have a consultant appointment in 2 weeks (with midwife then too).

ohthegoats · 23/09/2014 13:08

90 minutes in a surgery waiting room? Gah.. germ central. Two weeks time would be alright for you though?

binkybunny · 23/09/2014 13:12

goats do they not do home visits or have a different surgery you can go to? I've just moved to a tiny village surgery and my 40 week will be a home visit as they only run every 2 weeks and their next appointment is when I'm 39 weeks.

Kirstipops · 23/09/2014 13:19

I don't have a 40 week appointment either, purely because my consultant's clinic is closed for the bank holiday weekend up here on Monday. Means I avoided a possibly premature sweep so I'm not too bothered about it tbh. Doc yesterday said as my BP has been stable etc and everything else is well they aren't worried about not seeing me on 40th week.

Shirehobbit · 23/09/2014 13:24

I'm actually annoyed at that Dr's attitude on your behalf, goats - talk about arrogant and rude!
And I'm suddenly doubly grateful for my 1-2-1 midwife and her home visits, mum2kiss
Had my 36wks appointment this morning (36+4 today) and all is well - a little less engaged than last time (so they can pop in and out a bit!) and BP getting nice and low again (something to do with finishing work last week, methinks!)

For other back-of-the-bus ladies, I'm fairly sure I'll still be here for a good few weeks, yet. And I'm so enjoying my time with DS that I'm in no hurry - I want to cram every memory of it being just the two of us somewhere safe before everything changes again.

Captainmcgraw · 23/09/2014 13:29

Baby boy Rowan born this morning - we were lucky to be first to go to theatre. 7lb 6oz and has had a good feed. He is gorgeous. Experience was generally very positive although I felt very sick through operation. So much easier than DD though. Thinking of you Gun

Missus2ndwife · 23/09/2014 13:33

Congrats Captain and welcome baby Rowan to the world :)

Glad you are both ok

Xx

FatFlashingLazer · 23/09/2014 13:34

Congratulations Captain. Great news!

Shirehobbit · 23/09/2014 13:36

Congratulations, captain and welcome Rowan - a lovely weight!
Hope you're recovering well x

diamondbutterfly · 23/09/2014 13:40

Congratulations captain

Please can I be added to the list dc2, sex unknown due 13th. I seem to have fallen off the list, maybe because I haven't posted in a while on her, but am on fb, but have been a lurker here. 37+ 1 and due to finish work on Fri! Or Thu as I work from home on Fri
