binkybunny · 22/09/2014 19:01

gun there's a company that do swim lessons from before jabs as they use private pools (like hotels, rather than council run public) that are heated higher than public ones. I think they are called waterbabies. But , you'll need someone to go in the pool if you're still bleeding.

Good luck to the cs ladies tomorrow, can't believe there'll be another 2 babies here!

excited sorry to hear you're still not home Sad

MundayCakes85 · 22/09/2014 19:09

Congratulations MrsC we'll have to update the stats again soon if someone's on the laptop?
Had dull period pains the last couple of days but nothing else so far. I've got a sweep booked for next Monday as I'll be 40+1, first baby for me so no harm giving it a go if it's looking good Blush down there!
Hoping everyone is feeling a bit better this week, nearly there!!!

Me23 · 22/09/2014 19:10

captain how exciting, best if luck for tomorrow I hope you are not kept waiting too long.

excited so sorry to hear that, hoping it's all under control soon glad to here that baby is stable.

lily that is right orgasim is thought to bring on Braxton hicks (hopefully turn into contractions) but sperm contain prostiglandins thought to ripen the cervix (all anecdotal as these methods are not proven as such)

Me23 · 22/09/2014 19:18

Sorry spelling was awful there!

madamweasel · 22/09/2014 19:55

I'm sitting here making a mental note to: reorganise the bedroom, scrub the pram frame (pretty dirty from previous occupant (DS), wash the pram cover and mattress cover, and various other quite niche, probably unnecessary and time consuming cleaning jobs...does this mean nesting instinct is kicking in???? Last time I decorated the hallway the days before labour started so is this the beginning of the end....?

gunwalloe · 22/09/2014 20:14

Oh crap I can't get my engagement and wedding ring of have tried washing up liquid and cold water and only succeeded in making my fingers more puffy. Any other ideas what to do? They want them removed b4 tomorrow's c-section

FlipFantasia · 22/09/2014 20:16

Good luck tomorrow Gun and Captain - exciting to think of more babies coming!

Gun try to relax about your rings - I find I make it worse when I stress about it. Take a break from fiddling with them and then try something like a tiny bit of butter or olive oil.

ohthegoats · 22/09/2014 20:17

Wind cotton around your finger from above the ring to the end.

MundayCakes85 · 22/09/2014 20:18

Gun try putting your arm up for a bit- might make the swelling go down. Also try a cold compress on your fingers? Good luck!

Good tip from goats - check out this Wikihow link (you'll need to copy& paste into your browser I reckon as I'm on my phone and can't do links)

gunwalloe · 22/09/2014 20:27

Thanks ladies I will start trying those methods :)

So excited for you gun & captain ... Congratulations on reaching the end of your pregnancy .,, "your one of a kind" reward will arrive tomorrow Grin GrinGrinGrin

sazzlehopes · 22/09/2014 20:50

Thinking of the csection ladies tomorrow. So excited for you, hope all goes well.

Yellow that thread was great, put me in a super positive frame of mind!

Well, with just 4 days to go til my official due date we finally built the crib tonight! Love cutting it fine!

bumpbangbump · 22/09/2014 20:59

Good lick tomorrow c sectioners! More babies for our thread.

bumpbangbump · 22/09/2014 20:59

Luck...

Lulu298 · 22/09/2014 21:14

Thanks for the hospital bag tips and sleeping tips. I have a v pillow I already use so will try stretching more - thanks londonjen.

Congrats mrsc! Will check out the spinning babies website.

Me23 · 22/09/2014 21:23

gun sorry my brain is not functioning today! Totally forgot you will be meeting your Lo tomorrow aswell. Best of luck to you Smile

sazzle we (or rather OH) built the crib tonight aswell. It only took him 10 mins so could have left it longer really, we do not have any space in our room crib has to go in front of chest of drawers so will need to be moved every time we need to get clothes out. This is what we get for giving the biggest room to the kids.

ohthegoats · 22/09/2014 21:29

I only made our crib yesterday. It needed some butchery.

I'm so sure that I'm going to be +41 weeks now that I'm making ambitious plans for next week. Well, obviously not ambitious for real, but visiting people, getting the plasterer in etc.

Our cot is still mattress less. Newspaper will do, right? Grin

Good luck for C sections tomorrow, so exciting that there'll be two more.

First day of maternity leave spent in the supermarket buying pointless highly essential items for the birth. On the recommendation of a friend here, I bought a pack of adult nappies... she reckons they're easier than the horrid pants they give you here. A new pregnancy low at that checkout.

ohthegoats · 22/09/2014 21:46

I've got a consultant appointment tomorrow too. Not sure what it's for really. I'm going to ask if I can ge dowdowngraded to the mlu (this will ge a no), then will ask what the options are if I want to delay induction. My notes say induction some time between 40 and 41, which potentially means induction on Sunday. If they are insistent about it I'll refuse and/or make the appointment then not turn up. This all assumes me and baby are healthy.

fatpony · 22/09/2014 21:53

Thanks gun and captain for the pre-op info. How exciting that you'll meet your little ones tomorrow!

Lily31 · 22/09/2014 22:21

Officially on mat leave from tomorrow too Porcito. Whoop, *does a little bum wiggle.

DP bought me a lovely bunch of flowers to celebrate finishing.

Welcome kipper!

Hope all goes well for CS tomorrow.

YellowWellies · 22/09/2014 22:32

I had more routine CTG monitoring again today and a speculum exam. I'm still contracting every 3-10 minutes, cervix is slightly dilated (she estimated 4cm but didn't want to investigate too thoroughly lest she triggered full on labour) - apparently I could go into active labour any time or it could go on for the next 19 days til induction! Triffic!

The bednest is stowed away in its carry bag under our bed, it takes five minutes to build so we won't build it until s/he is home. Otherwise I'll only fall into it enroute to a late night wee. Grin
