Well despite all the goings on on my "oh sh*t" thread I know I'm not going to be terminating. So I figured I may as well start a club for June 2007! Don't suppose there's many (if any) others yet - I'm not even quite 4 weeks yet, and my EDD will be 5th June!!

Has everyone seen Andi's news on a the conception board (TTC after miscarriage threat). she ahs been in a car crash but has got a heartbeat for the first time!

alfiemoo · 25/10/2006 10:35

Hi, can I join in?

EDD - 18/06/07. First baby! DH and I both 34.

Was so amazed when I found out we told everyone! Had quite a bit of spotting though so went for private early scan this week (am now 6+2) and all ok, found a heartbeat! They had to do an internal one to find anything, baby less than 2mm!

Thankfully no MS yet, but chained to the loo and very tired!

Ludgie · 25/10/2006 10:39

Congratulations, I tried not to tell too many people but the news spread very quickly! Turns out I can't keep my mouth shut when I'm excited!!! This is my second but it seems such a long time ago that I was pregnent last time (DD3)

alfiemoo · 25/10/2006 10:47

Thanks! I know, I think we just got a bit overexcited as we'd been trying for a while! Turns out it wasn't great for everyone when we were a bit worried, but all ok now, fingers crossed.

When is ur EDD? Just trying to get used to all these abbreviations!!

Ludgie · 25/10/2006 10:49

25th June. Seems like forever away. At least I should pop before it gets too hot next summer!! The abbreviations are hard to get to grip with. You can tell who's been doing this a while.

alfiemoo · 25/10/2006 11:02

That's what I've been thinking. Does seem a long way away doesn't it? Still it'll be here before we know it!

Ludgie · 25/10/2006 11:10

At least we've got (a sober) Christmas to distract us soon.

alfiemoo · 25/10/2006 11:12

And New Year! That'll be the first sober one for me in a rather long time!

Ludgie · 25/10/2006 11:25

Me too! The only reason I'm invited to my BP's work's do is so that I can drive him home now!!! Can't even buy a new outfit to impress in because I'll be at the 'looking fat not pregnant' stage!

Juicylucythe2nd · 25/10/2006 12:27

Just a quick post to let you all know my 9 week scan went really well. Little pod was kicking it's legs about and there was a strong heartbeat. Roll on the 12wk scan so I can properly relax.

Hope everyone is well today

Cocobear · 25/10/2006 17:46

I've been feeling pretty grim. I have no appetite at all, and everything just tastes terrible - I'm hungry, but I just can't eat. I've lost something between 6 and 10 pounds in the last two weeks (not exactly 100% sure what weight I was to begin with!) - does anyone think this is a problem?

Can I get by on cold water, vitamin pills and the occasional starchy snack until this passes in 6 weeks or so? Is anyone else dropping weight?

daisymlaisy · 25/10/2006 17:56

Hi everyone, new on here, congratulations all you pregnant ladies! i'm 7 weeks, and already beginning to get fed up with the constant nauseous feeling, and it hasn't properly kicked in yet, last pregnancy it started at 9 weeks, so sort of presuming it will be the same?

lilKel · 25/10/2006 18:14

Coco - is this your first? With DS1 I was in similar situation, lost nearly 4 kilo and didn't manage to eat much besides cornflakes and toast for the first 12 weeks. Believe me I gained it all back (and then some!) by the time he popped.
If you can eat nutritious starchy snacks (breakfast cereals are especially good, even just eat them dry) you'll prob be fine but I'd pay close attention to the bloods they do at your booking in, it'll tell you if you've eaten enough iron in particular. If it doesn't go away in a week or two I'd tell your GP - better safe than sorry.
Chin up! It will go away. Eventually. :-)

lilKel · 25/10/2006 18:16

OK I'm at 8 weeks a no sign of booking in appt or dating scan yet. I do have a nuchal scan appt (lucky me, available in my area). Does this seem odd to anyone else?? Should I chase them up or just wait?

Cocobear · 25/10/2006 18:20

No, this is my second. But the first time I was able to eat more (it was cornflakes that saved me, as well). This time I can't even stomach breakfast cereal. I'm not underweight - I was hoping to just ride this out until week 14 or whenever. All the books say it's common to lose "a couple pounds" in the first twelve weeks, but I seem to be destined for a bit more than that...

Cocobear · 25/10/2006 18:23

And Lilkel, I remember getting my booking appt through about a week after I'd already had the nuchal scan. Two different departments, you see.

lilKel · 25/10/2006 22:01

Here's hoping you get your appetite back soon. Maybe it'll be different/easier the second time around? That's what I'm hoping anyway . Take care of you & point taken re the scan.

Juicylucythe2nd · 26/10/2006 09:22

Lilkel - I only found out my scan date yesterday because I was at the hospital. The letter still hasn't arrived and I am 9+2.

No news on my nuchal. I was sort of hoping it would be same day but if they're different depts... Oh well will just have to wait and see.

Coriander73 · 26/10/2006 12:27

Bump Trace...you OK??

ScreamandYellowFeathers · 26/10/2006 12:52

Trace, just to let you know there is a place that does private scans where you are. Its near the chestnut tree pub.
Give me a shout if you want to know anymore.
Hope your doing well!

Taffindra · 26/10/2006 13:00

Hi June 07 mums - according to bbc.co.uk/parenting I am due on 3rd June. Glad that someone could tell me as my doctor didn't seem to have a clue!
This is No.2 and am feeling worse than I remember with DS1, but maybe that is due to lack of sleep because of the forced early rising. Although I am hoping nausea means I'm having a girl....here's hoping!
Am waiting for hospital booking appt - have applied for a non-local hospital - where we had DS basically. I'd just prefer to go where I know, even if its not local.
Good luck all!

aquablue · 26/10/2006 14:24

hi taffindra - we've got the same EDD! And i have a DS1 (just about 17mo) and feel like i have quite a different nausea from last time. Unlike the first pregnancy, this time, the smells are really getting to me = blurgh! Also hoping this is a sign that because it's different, may have a girl too! will feel a lot better after wk 12!

Taffindra · 26/10/2006 14:30

Hi Aquablue - here's hoping for girls! We very deliberately tried to have sex before the 14 day mark, as early conception is supposed to increase your likleyhood of having a girl (something to do with female sperm surviving longer). So we'll see if that works or not - I think we might find out the sex at 20 weeks this time.
My DS is 25 months, so nearly 3 by the time No.2 arrives - hopefully he won't be such a handful by then!

aquablue · 27/10/2006 07:05

i don't think i'll find out the sex, but it will be hard not to find out! last time, my ds was conceived several days before O, but he still turned out to be a boy! this time i'm pretty sure conception happened on the day of O. so who knows, i want to try and prove the theory wrong! haha! i don't mind really if it's another boy, at least a playmate for DS1.

sarahsausage · 27/10/2006 10:19
