Well despite all the goings on on my "oh sh*t" thread I know I'm not going to be terminating. So I figured I may as well start a club for June 2007! Don't suppose there's many (if any) others yet - I'm not even quite 4 weeks yet, and my EDD will be 5th June!!

OP posts:

N&T&B - you must stay!! Plus I'm counting on your support as another mum with a close gap!! My 7mo-old's nappies are definite puke material. Also his food. Blech, sorry, now I feel ill again

Repeat after me: it's healty and right that we should feel like shite....it's healthy and right....

Still wondering where to get some preggie pops? x

Ingalls · 18/10/2006 21:33

Am still on a real high this evening. Looking fwd to the nausea etc kicking in as find it reassuring having mc in the past. Was at Tesco this evening and bought my first box of ready brek - it really saw me through the sickness last time - figure if you gotta be sick might as well be something lump free! Feeling soo tired again this evening, was in bed by 8pm last night just couldn't keep my eyes open.

Hope everyone's not feeling too bad this evening. Lilkel, if you stick preggie pop into a search engine it should throw up some uk suppliers.

NattyandThomasandBump · 18/10/2006 22:25

god i wish i could have an early night! tom has decided to start waking up in the night again (having slept through since 6 weeks old) and it is KILLING ME!!! up every 2-3 hours is then setting morning sickness off and im puking and dealing with tom, omg what am i doing? what is going to be like when there is 2 of them. needing some support guys feeling very afraid

megandsoph · 19/10/2006 07:33

Ingalls @ lump free hehehehe

I went to get my teeth sorted yesterday and now cannot eat anyting due to a case of serious sensitive teeth as the dentist sandblasted them hope it stops soon.

Natty glad everythings going well for you now

comebacksummer · 19/10/2006 08:22

pockettasha- this is number 3 for me too- two dds so far so would be great to have a blue flavoured one, but that said if it's a girl at least i'll have a vague notion of what i'm doing..! natty, i always think that dates only give you an idea anyway- you're just as likely to be a juney...

lottymadbird · 19/10/2006 09:11

If I remember rightly aren't you meant to be glowing when you are PG? And isn't your hair meant to be glossy and shiny - mine looks like Worzel Gummage. Maybe that means I'll be having a girl this time as was definitely Vidal Sasoon like last time. Has anyone done the cotton and needle thing to see if they are having a boy or a girl? I did it last time with DS and it was right and this time it says I'm having a girl ! We could do a survey to see if it works !

Juicylucythe2nd · 19/10/2006 09:38

What's the cotton and needle thing?

My hair is greasy as anything. I could wash it every day at the minute, but can't be arsed as too tired.

Glowing my ar*e!!!

lottymadbird · 19/10/2006 09:53

I'm really tired all the time too. Had a good trial run for the sleepless nights night before last too as DS was ill in the night and didn't get to sleep until 4am !

Needle and cotton thing... get a sowing needle on a piece of thread (about 6in long), hold it by the thread in your right hand over your left wrist. If it goes round in a circle its a boy and if it goes from side to side across your wrist its a girl. Think you can do it on your stomach too but doesn't seem to work for me !

lilKel · 19/10/2006 10:51

Nat - it will get better! Really!! It must!
Maybe your LO just woke up as a one-off? Or was he hungry? Growth spurt? Teething? You know, was it a crying like I'm in pain cry or was it a rooting around kind of hungry cry? Maybe he was cold? The babywhisperer website has really good tips on all sorts of sleeping problems for any age. Saves me lots of agony...

Ordered my preggie pops!! can't wait!!!

SmilingKiwi · 19/10/2006 11:08

Good Morning Oh Natty hope you have a better day today! LilKel I'm going to investigate those preggie pops...
Had my first Doctors appointment this morning, I'm only about 6 weeks so nothing except blood pressure taken, but Dr was nice and very approachable, she explained the NHS system pretty well, we'll see how it goes... I had a vivid dream last night that during one of my scans the nurse told me what sex the baby was...I woke upset as I don't want to know!!Are any of you keen to find out?
xx

trace2 · 19/10/2006 11:27

hi all not been for a while!, welcome to newbies

my hair is very lank, i feel sick, and very tired and my (.)(.) are getting more sore and heavy i can not be botherd to do anything at all, even comming on here is hard work.

i have just googled preggie pops, thinking of getting some, as any one used them to know if they work? still waiying for mw to get in touch, also trying to find some where local for a privte scan as my gp says no, but with me having m/c in june and being 40 i think it may make me feel better.

lilKel · 19/10/2006 11:38

Don't know if the pg pops work, but anything is better than dreading the next time I feel ill/hungry as I'm sick and tired of trying to think of things I can face eating!! Ordered mine from hi-baby.co.uk and express delivery ...yep, feeling like poop over here!!!

Re private scans - i had one done with my first pg (last year ) and it was so worthwhile.

Juicylucythe2nd · 19/10/2006 11:39

Trace - if you want an early scan just get your GP to refer you to the EPU. They were great with me. You may need to fabricate some concerns (symptoms dropping off / bleed), but if it will put your mind at rest go for it.

It has certainly helped me feel more positive. I even get a 9 week scan next week because they offered me it when I was there at 6 weeks.

But at least all your symptoms sound good and I am SURE everything is fine.

mcclairy · 19/10/2006 13:06

hello all,

babymonster, my ms seems a bit better now, I've only been sick once, just feel very sick all day and smells of food or even thoughts make me heave, nice! but found that frozen grapes are very helpful (this is a diet tip but thought it might ward off the nausea) and also accidently discoverd liquorice works quite well.
how are you feeling?

mcclairy · 19/10/2006 13:10

i know its a bit early maybe but is anyone with quite an aga gap since their last child thinking about what pram/pushchair to get as they got rid of their last one? want something quite light but comfy and reclining (suit from birth obv.) but that can be folded etc.
quite a tall order I know! still have a maclaren techno says suitable from birth but I just used it as a buggy for when they are older.

tigerpaws · 19/10/2006 13:40

I have a maclaren techno for my toddler which I used from 6 weeks. She was able to lie flat and always seemed comfy in it. you can get those furry inserts to put in to make it more comfy for a tiny one. I will probably end up using mine again as it is so easy to fold, light etc. i would really like a new pram for new baby as borrowed one last time but it seems so much money for such a short useage time. Might try for a 2nd hand one I suppose.
seems so far off! i don't know whether dd will still need wheels by then either. She will be 2y10m.
Off for my afternoon rest! catch up later

Daisybump · 19/10/2006 14:11

On the thread and needle sex gauge....

I was very sceptical about it when I was pregnant with DS, but now totally converted. It used to go in circles, and in spite of trying to fox it by starting the needle swinging side to side, it would get slower and slower, then start to go around in circles, and lo and behold it was a boy. Not tried it yet, as I didn't think it would work this early.
MS comes and goes. didn't sleep well on Tuesday and felt sick as a dog all day yesterday. Much better today as I had an early night.

Saw Doc yesterday so it's official. Getting urgent referral to midwife due to previous m/cs and coeliac disease, but not keen to give me a referral for an early scan! Not too happy about that, and may book in for a private scan. There is a screening clinic close to where I live.

Age gap between DS and this budle will be 5 years!

lilKel · 19/10/2006 15:24

Ok, as I sit here chomping on a Rennie soft chew, wondering why in the hell I did this (the ms is soooo bad today and DS (7mo) keeps looking at me like, what's wrong, mummy? why aren't you smiling at me??)...

decided to try the needle & thread thing. It goes in circles then a line, then circle, then a line again... this better not mean I'm having twins!! LOL!!!!

lottymadbird · 19/10/2006 16:32

circles then a line meant twins one of each for an Aussie mate of mine !!!!

i've had some bleeding today and just did another PG test and it came up with two lines but the second one much fainter than before - anybody know what this means? I'm going to see if I can get a Dr appt tomorrow.

babymonster · 19/10/2006 18:41

Hi mcclairy. Not too good today. Had abit more bleeding. Hope its just gonna be one of those things that i'm gonna have to put up with and not something more serious. Scan tomorrow so will find out more then. Got DH threading a needle at the mo to do this test on finding out the sex of the baby

babymonster · 19/10/2006 19:22

Done the thread and needle test and apparently i'm having a pink one. Will wait awhile before i buy the frilly knickers and skirts

Ingalls · 20/10/2006 05:39

Mornin' all! I'd forgotten about the first trimester insomnia - found out I was pg over Christmas last time so don't think I noticed as much initially as was having late nights anyway. Didn't want to disturb dh so am having my first cuppa of the day and thought I'd catch up with the chat on here.

Another head of unmanageable hair here too - not paticularly greasy or anything just dull and kinda sitting there iyswim! For those of you in the same boat things did turn around on a hair front for me after a few weeks last time, so hopefully will be doing our best glossy, hair flicking model impressions soon .

Was sick as a dog last time up until about 18 weeks with a gradual decrease until 22 - think it all kicked in around 5/6 week mark, can't remember but expecting to join you all in feeling green over the next few days. Think I'll order some preggie pops too, seens as I don't have many major purchases to make think I'll enjoy some of the more novel ones this time.

For those of you who are a few weeks ahead and on second, third pg are you needing your mat clothes yet? I've a pal who's due at the start of June and she's into her mat trousers already - I'd heard that you can show earlier but 8/9 weeks seems a bit scarey!

Anyone thinking of 4d scans? They've changed policies recently at hospitals near us and aren't telling sex of baby anymore, so we're thinking about private scan. We're both sooo nosey, i think we'll burst if we have to wait 9 months - we knew with dd and it was nice and also heped us bond/feel reassured having mc before her. Were fascinated by the 4d thing last time and again as we don't have the major pram/cot etc purchases to make thought it might be nice this time.

Nat - you'll be fine ! 6 months can be a tricky time with teething, growth spurts, weaning etc, hope wee thomas settles again soon and this night waking is a passing phase. Looks like there's a few of us who'll have 2 under 2 in here - we'll have a 21 month gap.

Lotty - hope things are ok, may be something to worry about, may not be - seeing gp def best thing, could also try EPU (early pg unit)if you have one nearby. Thinking of you x

Right I'm going to try and get a last hour or so nap before dd wakes up - she always hits the ground running and is all go, go, go from the min she wakes up! Dh off work first half of the day so think we're off to soft play for the morning - hardto say who enjoys it more, dh or dd!

lemonstartree · 20/10/2006 09:17

Unfortunately I have started bleeding heavily , so it looks like back to the starting gate for us!
Good luck to everyone else

Cocobear · 20/10/2006 09:26

Hello again - been a while.

Am still sicker than sick - shockingly hungry and can't stomach a thing. Making lunch for a toddler when the smell of plain cooking pasta puts you off is just hellish! Just get through today, just get through today... and another eight weeks or so... and it'll be better. I reckon I'll be able to eat again by what, Christmas?

Okay, non-sickness topic: hair. It's not looking great, but I remember it went all gorgeous towards the middle. But the big question is: When can I dye it again? Is it totally out of the question for 9 months + breastfeeding, or okay after the first twelve weeks, or okay anytime?

Not that I'm going anywhere I need to look particularly good for the next few weeks of nausea anyway.

Cocobear · 20/10/2006 09:29

Oh LST. Am so sorry - have you been to the doc? Lots of love
