hi

I have just found out that I am due on about 12th May 07. I haven't been using Mumsnet for a while but thought I'd come here and say "Hello". I have a DD of 10, a DSD of 9 and a DS of 18months.
Congratulations to everyone so far and hope it is ok to join in?

charleymouse · 26/09/2006 12:59

Thanks for all your congratulations, I am like you Natty May/June 07
Cacaboo I know how you feel I am nearly giddy with excitement. LG&T I had to tell everyone at work yesterday as they would have all thought I was mad just wandering round with a gormless smile on my face .Well done on number 6 I am wondering how I will cope with DH+2! (=3)
Skytv, like the logic but sorry not on holiday in August, it just took 18 months for AF to return and then not taking precautions since May (decided to not TTC as then would get stressed) and let nature take its course. I think that's why there are usually a lot of September babies due to Christmas and New Year shenanigans.

Does this mean we get additional maternity pay as we are due after the begining of April or does this still need to go through the system. I think there were some people waiting until August/September to TTC to get the additional maternity pay so that might account for a bumper April/may/June 07. The holiday idea sounds more romatic though doesn't it?

O.k. Let me clarify labor is not my favorite thing in the world. But with Ds I didn't have an epidural. I am also a hypnobirthing mom. With ds I felt pain, but it came with this intense focus. I just allowed my body to do what it needed to do. My husband said that I fell asleep during the two hours of pushing. I would wake up, push a little, and go back to sleep. When I was done, I said "that was quick, it took what 15 minutes?" I like the connnection that I had with my body. I like that my husband will never understand what it was like.

Also with ds pregnancy was not exciting. I almost never felt him moving, if he did I would yell for someone to come feel, and he would stop. I would go for non-stress tests, They would say this baby is moving do you feel it. All I could say is "no". I didn't get "big until month six. I went for my 20 week ultrasound in regular clothes. Then overnight in month six I popped. By that time I was so tired of being pregnant. Hopefully this time around will be more fun.

I found that with ds2. Everyone assumed i knew everything to expect, everything i had to avoid etc but it had been 5yrs since i had been pg with ds1. I ended up digging out my old pg book that my previous midwife had given me with ds1 and reading that. Also with ds1 it had been different as i had only discovered i was pg with him when i was already 20wks (still had light bleeding which i assumed where AF's), I had missed the worrying 1st 12wks, the symptons, in fact the whole trimester so i needed advice but was made to feel silly for asking. This time is different. Im having this baby in a totally different hospital with a different team of midwives so its just like being a 1st time mum to me and that is how i want to be treated, i want the star treatment

largeginandtonic · 26/09/2006 17:11

Congrats sunnysam, u r just like me! Ive got 5 too, dts 7, dd6 and ds 4 and 1! The only congratulations i got were from mums net all my friends just said oh another one or you must be mad. I got so annoyed with last ds prg that this time i almost dreaded saying to anyone, then everyone says oh you must be hoping for a girl this time aaaaaaggggh! Have they met my daughter?!!

Sorry, got a bit carried away then....

largeginandtonic · 26/09/2006 17:16

Pebble you deserve the star treatment, it would be tempting to just say to midwife hello, first baby, i know nothing!

Not sure she would buy it when she saw my wrinkly tummy though!

pebblemum · 26/09/2006 17:20

I take my hat off to you that are expecting baby #4 and over, especially #6. Im already panicking about how im going to cope with 3 especially as ds2 is very clingy and i think he will feel very put out having to share me with a baby. Ds1 doesnt bother him and vice versa because he is always out with friends and so by the time he comes in ds2 is off to bed.

How do you all manage. Is having more than 2 easy enough or will i find it a struggle. I think its finally hit me that i will have 3 children this time next year whereas all i have been thinking so far is ooh im having a baby.

largeginandtonic · 26/09/2006 17:35

Only the washing is a killer, if i dont do at least 2 loads a day im buggered! The noise level is fairly mega too, but i switch off now. As we chat the twins are charging round with 2 extra friends in tow i barely notice anymore.
Im sure the jump for me was the twins to dd, but that must have been your jump from ds1 to ds2, so youve nothing to fear.

pebblemum · 26/09/2006 17:40

Thanks, i guess im just having a case of last minute doubts although its a bit late having them now, the deed is done.

I normally have ds2 and his little friend tearing round the house and ds1 in and out with his friends so i should be used to the noise level and extra brats running around but i get to give them back at the end of the day, having 3 of my own is a bit different. Im sure im worrying about nothing, blame my hormones!!!

MKG · 26/09/2006 18:37

I can't believe how many people are on the thread now. Congrats to the newest members. Today I feel like I got hit by a truck. Ds (13 months) is teething and woke up twice last night. Normally he just goes back to sleep without problems, but last night he wanted to be awake with mommy. Of course Dh is useless when it comes to these things. Today I am walking around in a fog. Between being tired from last night and the pg exhaustion. I just have one, I bow down to all the ladies that have 2 or more and are still daring enough to create another. Have a great day everyone.

JonahB · 26/09/2006 20:06

Evening all, and welcome Natty, Kharmellion and Charley, Sunny!!!!! 4 new arrivals, wow!!!!

LG&T, please be my friend. I didn?t really understand it either. I put on 2 stone last time round, but most of that was bump. It was one of those which couldn?t be seen from the back, then I?d turn sideways on and my rather indelicate friends and family all pulled, ?you have to be kidding!? faces. Or openly laugh at me.

MKG, the damage is done now, hon, you are going to be forever known as the lady who ENJOY?s giving birth . Glad it was such a positive experience for you, you're very lucky. I also fell asleep for a large chunk of the labour, however, my snoozing was purely Pethadine/Meptid induced

redbull · 26/09/2006 20:08

hello all just found out today that im pregnant we allready have a ds who is 5 years old and ASD, im now 6 weeks gone and baby is due in may

jessinwa · 26/09/2006 20:42

hello all!
i have been checking in off and on for the last week or so but i think i will have to devote many hours in order to catch up completely. there are so many of us now!
i haven't posted in long time because i have been so scared of having a mc. so scared. hearing about how many of you have had to go through it made me realize how likely it is that i will have one in my lifetime. it is super common but it seems that no one in real life talks about it. is that because most women don't tell people about their pregnancy until after the twelfth week and that usually mcs happen before then? whatever the reason, i wasn't really aware of how often it happens and it scared the buhgeezus out of me. now that i have had my first appointment with my doctor and i have seen my little beans heartbeat i feel so much more secure. plus, today is my son's first birthday and i have so much to be thankful for. he is healthy and perfect and needs a happy mama to celebrate with.
on to the complaining stuff, i feel like i am on the verge of throwing up almost all day. also, at six o'clock every night i seem to loose all momentum and i feel like it is bedtime. luckily my darling, darling husband is amazing and takes over with ds as soon as he gets home from work. i can forget about getting anything done for my work though. i make baby blankets and bibs and stuff that are carried in local boutiques, but i haven't made a single thing in weeks due to being so very sleepy. exhausted, really. hopefully things will pick up again after we get past the three month mark. that's what happened to me last time around.
i am 8w 5d now and am already out of my regular jeans. i am a big gal (a 20 in uk sizes) so finding maternity clothes is difficult. do any of you have any tips or websites you can recommend? any help would be much appreciated.
ok, that is enough for now. i have a big story to share with you all but it remains unresolved so i will wait until things are resolved before i spill the beans. just another story we can put in the "horrible mother-in-law" file. more on that later...
a big congratulations to all the new mamas-to-be! welcome, welcome, welcome!

sunnysam · 26/09/2006 20:44

hey thanks lg&t i still havent told my mum yet and i have had the same reaction off the people i have already told they seem to think i am mad, i think that has alot to do with my age cos i am only 26. I am already getting annoyed with everyone saying I bet you hope its a girl and as nice as that would be to me the babys health comes first i am not bothered what it is. i don't know about you do you feel like you have been pregnant forever i have been married 8 years now and i have been pregnant for six of the anniversaries

dejags · 27/09/2006 09:06

Hi All,

I think I'll be signing off this thread. Had some spotting and really bad cramping today. The gynae did a scan and although he can see a sac, cannot see a heartbeat (this is to be expected at 5.5 weeks).

The superstitious part of me says I shouldn't take it for granted that the pregnancy will be ok.

So i'll log back in if all is well.

dejags

largeginandtonic · 27/09/2006 10:45

oh dejags so sorry to hear about the spotting and cramping, hopefully the little heart beat is just not there yet and all will be well. Sending you tons of baby glue.

Redbull and karmellion huge congrats to you both, hope you are ok and very excited

Sunnysam im only 29 so i know what you mean, i dont look my age either i was in sainsburys in the summer hols buying a vast bottle of gordons and tonic to go with the steak and salad i was cooking that night and i got asked for id
My DH was with me and it happens to him all the time, hes 25. He went to threshers in the tiny village we live to buy wine and came home empty handed as the woman did not believe he was old enough! I almost hugged the woman in sainsburys, and proceeded to get out a photo of all the kids
Am feeling not too bad again today, im not worried though cos my boobs still hurt like hell. My back has started to ache too, ds4 is quite heavy am giong to have to stop lugging him about so much i think.
Wow an essay...sorry.. hope you are all ok

largeginandtonic · 27/09/2006 10:47

Jonahb course i will be your friend Just try to eat as much cake as you can

ShowOfHands · 27/09/2006 11:34

Morning all! And a big welcome to the newbies (especially redbull who was kind enough to give me some advice on a recent oh goodness I'm 6wks and showing thread).

Keeping everything crossed for dejags, hope she's back soon.

I think I'm going to have to get a notebook and jot down info. on everybody on this thread. It's HUGE!

peacemakerukuk · 27/09/2006 14:19

Hi everyone, I'm yet another newbie to this growing band of May mums to be. I'm 40 and am expecting my 3rd child on 16th May (fingers crossed). This is the first baby with my DH and we've been trying for 18 months so this is a hard fought for baby Problem is, I've been having period pain type pain for 4 weeks now and have had 2 miscarriages in the past. I was sent for an early scan last week and their conclusion was an "ongoing 6 week pregnancy" but they didn't see a pole or yolk????? I'm hopefully having a follow up scan later this week.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

scootermum · 27/09/2006 14:48

Hi all,
Cant remember how to work out due date? Can anyone remind me then I can let you know for the stats.Actually tho am a bit worried as some tit drove into the back of my car on Monday morning and have had a bit of spotting since. Also very bad back but that might be whiplash.Might ring Injury Lawyers 4 u!(although is that a bit mercenary?)
AM going to Dr tomorrow anyway so hopefully he will tell me all is well or at least refer me for an early scan to check.(Had an m/c before dd was born so am paranoid at the best of times).
I too seem to be very large now.Am trying not to eat as much chocolate as I did last time as I have only just lost all the weight I put on with dd.Grrr-gave all my bigger clothes to my best mate who is a bit curvier than I am (when not pregnant). Now she will have to give them all back and quick!
Am quite nervous about telling work as I have been back for only a month after my maternity leave. It will go down like a lead balloon I fear, but hey ho..
Also its beginning to dawn on me that, (all being well) I will shortly have a newborn baby and an 18 month old one.And the lord alone knows how I will cope with that in my two up two down.(not that that matters a bit.Wouldnt be able to cope if I had a fabulous mansion either!)

mummymelling · 27/09/2006 16:38
