SKYTVADICT · 23/09/2006 13:27

Hello all and new people

Haven't got much to say but wanted to post on the new thread

Good luck for your scan Tyakit.

I surrendered and wore a bra to bed last night and was so much more comfortable.

Anyway, betta get dressed (whoops its nearly 1.30 pm!)

SKYTVADICT · 23/09/2006 13:28

Just had a quick look at the list posted earlier and Nicola63 had a mc.

Haven't heard from Jessinwa for ages either.

dejags · 23/09/2006 13:56

Can I join - albeit very tentatively?

I tested positive today , I think I am due 28th May.

This will be our 3rd baby.

ShowOfHands · 23/09/2006 15:33

Hello all!

I've decided to bite the bullet and join this thread. I had my bfp three weeks ago, but have been scared to join as I had a m/c in July and am petrified that the same thing could happen again.

Right, so important bits out of the way first. I am 25 nearly 26, dh is 24 nearly 25 and this will be our first baby. We have been together for 8 years, married for 18months. He runs a hotel/bar/restaurant and I am an academic librarian (really not as dull as it sounds!). We had been ttc for a year, with the m/c in July and I am currently 6+2 and due on May 17th (same as mummymelling- how are you chick?). I have very few symptoms really. Was very achy and crampy at first- still get a bit crampy in the evening- and I have developed sore nipples! DH reliably informs me that my (.)(.) are bigger too. I could drink for England right now, I wake up thirsty every morning and stay that way all day. The biggest symptom I've had is fatigue. I keep falling asleep on the sofa after work and only rouse for some food and then go straight to bed. Need about 11hrs sleep at the moment just to feel human. Luckily I have had no nausea but have found that my appetite has changed. I am either starving hungry with the shakes or completely unhungry. There is no inbetween. My booking in appointment is on October 5th and I am planning on having a homebirth.

Very many congratulations to all of you on your pregnancies. I look forward to chatting to you all.

pebblemum · 23/09/2006 15:39

SKYTVADICT-I found this from Nicola63 on the pregnancy after miscarriage part 4 thread: (posted on Thursday 21st)

Well it seems to be good news for now. There is still a heartbeat! and he says it has grown since last week, although it is not very big (obviously this worries me rather). Anyway, I can't keep on being paralysed with fear all the time, I have to try to be a little optimistic now (this, at 7.5 weeks, is the furthest I have ever got with a pregnancy). I am heading off to Scotland this afternoon to spend the weekend with my DH. I need to get away and a bit of bracing highland air (although I believe it is raining up there!) will be good for me!

So fingers crossed everything will work out for her, she is definately in my thoughts.

pebblemum · 23/09/2006 15:40

Welcome ShowOfHands and Dejags congratulations on your BFP's.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 23/09/2006 15:42

Do you mind if I join you for now??? I'm actually due start of June - but as I tested a few days early, at my EDD is only 5th of June there doesn't seem to be anyone else yet!

pebblemum · 23/09/2006 16:08

The more the merrier QOQ

twelveyeargap · 23/09/2006 16:43

Afternoon. I think we can make room for the early June babies. Went for a personal training session this lunchtime. Am usually pretty good, but was like an old lady today. Puffing and blowing and feeling like my legs were going to fall off after 3 minutes jogging on the treadmill. Tch. THEN my sodding car wouldn't start. I hadn't even had a shower at the gym. I prefer to jump in the car and have one at home, so instead ended up sitting in Islington for 2 hours in my smelly tshirt waiting for the AA to come. He only had to wiggle some cable to the starter motor to get it going. Gutted. Waste of an afternoon. Supposed to be going to a birthday drinks this evening and I'd rather be in bed, frankly. Boo, boo, boo.

OK moan over. What a miserable git I am.

That was rather enthusiastic of you pepplemum, to get all the stats together. That's great. Makes it easier to familarise with the names. I expect it will be May before I learn them all. I rubbish with names anyway, never mind when I have no face to put to them.

How are we today?

pebblemum · 23/09/2006 16:56

TwelveYearGap - I only did it because i was bored. My dh works until 1:30am every night and if theres rubbish on tv (most of the time) i run out of things to do. Also it was getting a bit confusing, we have so many on here with more being added everyday i thought it would be nice to know who we are.
It was either do the stats on here or sort through all Ds2's puzzle pieces that he and his little friend decided to mix up I think i will give ds1 £1 to do it for me

twelveyeargap · 23/09/2006 17:01

Pay kids to do as much as you can while they still care about £1. My 11 year old girl gets so much money from relatives all the sodding time that I can't bribe/ pay her to do anything. I have to come the hard-ass with her to even clear the table after dinner! Ah, she's a very good girl usually, she's just been let away without having chores for so long that now she thinks the world is ending that she has to load the dishwasher every night.

1.30am is a rather annoying time to work to. Too early for you to go to bed and get a good sleep before he comes in, but too late for you to get a good sleep afterwards. (That's how I'd feel anyway.) Is that a regular thing?

pebblemum · 23/09/2006 17:06

Yes, he leaves at 4pm and as long as nothing goes wrong at work he is back by 1:30am, it has been known for him not to get it until 6am though. He is even working Saturdays at the moment 10am-5pm. The moneys good but the hours are crap.

If im up when he comes in but look as though im falling asleep he tells me that i shouldnt wait up for him but if i go to bed before he gets home, he comes in and wakes me for a chat

pebblemum · 23/09/2006 17:07

oop 'get in' not get it. Hes normally too tired for that

twelveyeargap · 23/09/2006 17:47

@ pebblemum

twelveyeargap · 23/09/2006 17:59

QoQ - I just read your other thread. I didn't see it before. I hope you're ok.

pebblemum · 23/09/2006 18:19

Ive just read it too (great minds think alike . My thoughts are with you too QoQ. Im sure things will work out in the end but we are always here for support if you need us. {{hugs}}

My dh was all for having baby no.3 over a month ago but then suddenly changed his mind saying it wasnt practical blah blah blah. Now its too late. He still is in shock, i think he is trying not to think about it too much (which is why im glad i have MN to talk to)
I hope your letter helps him to see things from your point of view and that you can sort it out soon. Good luck

MKG · 23/09/2006 19:45

Hello all, HOw is everyone feeling. So far I am not having too many symptoms just the sleepiness. My boobs are the same (damn! the one thing I look forward to pregnancy) I made my first appointment for 18/10 and have my first scan on 12/10. I'm excited but upset. My insurance doesn't cover the midwife that delivered my ds. So now I have an ob, which makes me a little nervous. I wanted a homebirth, guess that went down the toilet. I don't know how it is across the pond, but here the CNM needs to be associated with an OB practice. I think she will take me on a a private client. Because she's associated with an ob she has rights at the hospital and can do homebirth. The nurse from the new practice called to take my history yesterday, she gave me all the symptoms of a m/c and for the first time I got freaked out. For some reason I keep thinking that because ds turned out perfect, I won't be that lucky again. I think that's normal but it's really bothering me. I'll feel better after the scan. I need to hear a heartbeat to know everything is o.k. It's funny, I worry more with this one, than I did with ds.

largeginandtonic · 23/09/2006 21:19

Evening everyone and huge congrats to all the newbies
Am slobbing out in fab stretchy h+m trousers, got them 2day after walking round southampton straining to keep my tummy in my jeans. Actually gave myself backache in the end! Cant believe it am only 8 weeks, sure i managed to get to 12 weeks with the last baby before the maternity clothes came out
Pebble i had great eve last night watched dirtydancing and back to back sex and the city. Still woke up at bloody 7am though, stupid body alarm clock.
Hope everyone feels ok this evening

cacaboo · 23/09/2006 21:38

Doing good here! DS slept until the amazing time of 8.30 this morning - sadly I can't say the same! Couldn't get back to sleep after 7, how dumb is that when I'm tired?

It feels very odd to be a few weeks behind some of you ladies! To be 8 wks pg seems like an age away when I'm not even at 5 wks yet! I keep wondering if I'm imagining it. I'm sure I'll be doing another test before booking any scans or m/w appts!

largeginandtonic · 23/09/2006 22:10

OOOH QOQ hope your ok. What an awful time ur having, just keep chatting to all of us. DH should understand how strongly you feel after reading the letter, and if he was not so pissed the other night that he could still 'you know' then he was coherant enough to make sure he was wearing a condom.
Huge hugs coming your way ive been there

mum18772 · 23/09/2006 22:18

Hello I've been following the thread for a couple of weeksand wanting to pick up the confidence to include myself! Yes, I have done the test and bfp and I'm 6 wks + 3 days today - edd 16th May - another stat for you pebblemum! Very interesting to see how many there are of us this month! Like my previous pregnancy I find it hard to believe Im pg when i don't yet have any symptoms - is that normal!!? The only thing I remember until 13 weeks last time was a huge desire to eat all the time - I could never go without eating for more than an hour - then the hunger died down after that thankgoodness!

largeginandtonic · 23/09/2006 22:39

congrats mum glad to have you with us!
Really must go to bed am pooped, munching haribo brix so yummy. I get that must eat constantly thing too, if i dont the nausea overtakes me. Crackers and cheese are my currant fave, anything i have to cook and smell is not good.

goodnight all am of to bed with my book, will probably make 1 page tonight!

Gingerbear · 24/09/2006 08:11

Add me too, due about 24th May (will be confirmed with midwife soon)
Hi QoQ and dejags - names I recognise, and hello to those I don't.
Only symptoms of pregnancy so far for me are expanding norks and extreme tiredness.

Gingerbear · 24/09/2006 08:12

How many of us are 1st, 2nd or 3rd time mums? This will be no.2 for me.

aprilmeadow · 24/09/2006 08:32

Morning ladies, hope you all slept better last night. I passed out on the sofa after eating a very yummy chicken chow mein and special fried rice. Woke up at 00.15!! Had a restless night - i keep having odd/disturbing dreams - and then ds woke at 6.40am. We dont mind him waking do early as it did take 15mths for him to properly go through the night!!

DH treated me to some lovely trousers and a top from maternity Red Herring yesterday - which was very nice of him. Now i have 4 pairs of 'fat' trousers to wear as my regular clothes just do not fit, not even with a hairband holding them together
